  1. And now, Lois Lerner, who headed up the IRS office with oversight into tax exempt groups, has asked out of hearing with Congress stating she will plead the 5th.... From her attorney: Last I heard, you can only plead the 5th if something you say may incriminate you, so by this very statement, she should be held in contempt. You can't issue a statement that you did nothing wrong and that is why your claiming the 5th.... Read it here in this USA Today article for the liberty challenged among us.....
  2. It gets worse.... http://spectator.org/archives/2013/05/20/obama-and-the-irs-the-smoking
  3. Interesting... But you won't feel the "pain" of sequestration until Sept huh??? Welcome to the US of everyone else... and just like us, BOHICA!!!!!
  4. Yeah, but I'm also reading that Obama compared Israel/Palestine relations to US/Canada.... Hmmmm...... I remember when I lived in Buffalo, keeping the bomb shelter stocked because of those Canadian Bacon filled Quassam rockets that flew in randomly during the Maple Syrup Wars, but was unaware our relationship with our neighbors to the north had disintegrated further.... sarcasm off....
  5. Isn't this ironic??? Our government now deems it ok to bomb Americans overseas, but bring a foreign terrorist to NYC for trial??
  6. because your claim is sheer ignorance at it's best... Another word for "discretionary" is unnecessary, so by that definition, we should be able to cut the entire thing, and I guess you and a bunch of other ^&%$ would be out of a job. There should not be any difference between unnecessary spending, and non discretionary if we're gonna get this mess under control, period!
  7. ok... it's only fair...
  8. I agree with Tasker... rich has little to do with income, more to do with what people did with their income, like investing and acquiring assets... NFL players are a great example... Some make more in income, than most of us will in our entire lives, but are broke soon after, or even during (V Young) their career... But then, I know people that have never, ever, earned 6 figure income, who are now quite "comfortable"...
  9. what democracy do you speak of??
  10. where the h377 did this guy come from??? Libertarian, but want majority rule? What happened to the rights of the individual??
  11. Meazza does have a good point however... As a poli sci major myself, many moons ago, it's tough to make an argument, without being able to quote current news, long before ant academic study could be published... HOWEVER!!!! I have never viewed politics as a science either.... more likely, uncontrollable chaos... the cause of the second law of thermodynamics????
  12. I don't care about the state and what they assume as law anymore on this topic... I only care about what the real people, that once swore the oath to defend have to say. While MO has a number of county sheriffs sign on to protect, I don't see the state yet in this list.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/NationalOathKeepers/permalink/464098873649731/
  13. Glad you found that funny, but I'm confused which part? The one that finds it funny that commentators are viewed as NEWS, or my own, where I disagree that college professors should be TELLING people WHAT to think, instead of how to think.. Go back to Uranus now...
  14. News Flash!!! Every teacher or professor with bias on politics in the classroom, should be fired on the spot, end of story.... After all, isn't that what we do if they teach or profess Christian thought?
  15. I see people literally, making fun of such an expenditure, as a drop in the bucket sort of thing, or even a government subsidy... But I think it obvious, we've all heard it before... drops, eventually fill the bucket and it overflows. Leaving one drop, ends up giving an excuse to leave other drops and soon, we're all drowning... In Debt.....
  16. This is a really promising technology. Some printers, are getting down around the 600 dollar level, and for the "ink", we're looking at the possibility of using recyclables, in your own home... Throw a plastic coke bottle in the recycler, print out a cup, plate, or even remote control... No, it won't be a boon for industry lybob... but it can certainly be a boon for people...
  17. no one is this ignorant are they??
  18. yeah, it's past Obama's too, so he's doing it prerecorded on telepromter
  19. you got it!!! the sequester that Dems wanted, is now gonna be blamed on Reps... But quite frankly, they deserve it for the asinine job they do opposing anything Obama wants... As for the rest of the night: I haven't seen anyone assume he'll blame Bush at least once??? Defense cuts are the Reps fault How proud he is to serve as commander obama (in chief) They are the most transparent admin in history his daughters told him we produce more oil today, than when he took office we must protect police officers (huh) our borders are secure the American people agree with me we will take care of... kids, seniors, unfortunate, but only if the rich pay their fair share I won't take your guns.............................. comprehensive revenue enhancement investing future Lincoln Democracy (but not republic)
  20. for them... and us in the long run I guess since it seems to reduce numbers...
  21. Most cops I know, were actually the opposite, the wimps in school that everyone made fun of... But the jist is the same, because now, they think they have payback power....
  22. Magox... you've done well in this debate, but don't get sucked in to the same ole crap... Economics, as you obviously know, ain't that hard, but is too often, used as a tool, to make people look like a fool... Micro vs Macro I guess... How do the people understand and thereby win???? Keep It Simple Stupid ???
  23. wow... and it's really, only simple math... the gubment has of course chaned a few rules in how the inflation rate is calculated, and do so almost daily... Case in point... Check this site out... official gubment site... , but I still like the calculator... http://www.bls.gov/d..._calculator.htm Funny thing is... Last year, out of curiosity, I put my dad's salary from 1975, from working the steel mills, and just before he passed on.... 10 bucks an hour... really good money at the time around B'lo industry... Anyway, last year, I used the calculator, put 10 in for 1975, and calculated for today, and learned my dad would have to make over 48 bucks an hour, to have the same buying power he did then.... But then... something more amazing happens if I put those numbers in now....My dad only has to make 42 and change an hour this year....????? Hmmmm But let's have fun!!! the calculator goes back to 1913, so lets!!! 100 bucks in 1913??? $2,319.13 in today dollars... yeah.... fun, huh??? Economists try to make it much harder than it is... But Economics, is simple math, and understanding simplicity...
  24. In the Palestinian areas, it has been declared that women, are the reason disease is transmitted. The argument basically goes, they gather from all around for mourning, and share disease, then go home to spread it...
