Just got home- looking over some trade offers and will announce a trade or a pick in 10-15 mins
-
I think sometimes a rookie LBers sideline to sideline ability is stunted because they aren’t confident in their assignments. Processing is slow, hence they aren’t running around full speed. Dunno if that’s Bernards case, but it’s a thing.
-
While I think we must attempt to upgrade WR, I agree with this. I want to see him standing in the pocket looking like the Mandalorian…,, like he did in 2020 with a decent Daryl Williams at RT. Too many times It seemed as if Josh’s first read started with Spencer’s assignment then onto Saffolds assignment, then he’d run for his life.

McGovern, Edwards and Bates are all better than Spencer brown to date. There is no debate

Addison can play the outside just fine. He ran a 4.49. Shakir does run routes like addison. It’s not even close. You’re just looking at them physically when you have to look deeper. It’s a very shallow way of thinking. Sorry to be so blunt. The only thing addison has against him is his weight. RAS: Antonio Brown 3.86 Jeudy: 6.7 Tee Higgins 4.13 Hunter Renfrow 2.94 Cooper Kupp 5.0 Adam Humphries 4.19 Robert Woods 3.55 Found those after looking for 2 minutes. I’m sure there are many more. Would love to know what Jerry Rice’s RAS score was. Just a long winded way to say, I agree to disagree

I think it’s a bad idea to use your first pick on lower priority position just because there are only 3 LBers worthy of a 1st or 2nd rd pick. If taking a MLB with our first pick is the plan, then we better find a way to trade down and get more picks. Even if we only get a 4th. If we take a MLB @ 27, I’ll be ill. Major reach to fill a need at a position where you can find suitable starters for cheap. this years free agent class, Alex Anzalone got the 2nd richest contract among off hall LBers 3 years. 18.75M, 9 guaranteed. Lots of solid starters getting paid 2-6M. Still available: Zach Cunningham Deion Jones Myles Jack Cory Littleton Kyle Van Noy Neville Hewitt Kwon Alexander Jayon Brown Jarrad Davis Nick Kwiatkoski

What do you think he needs at WR. Super tall, super fast? Those are nice to have if you can run great routes and catch the ball. Josh needs WRs that can get open and catch the ball. Addison is, at worst, the 2nd best in this draft class in both regards. He also needs a RT that isn’t equal to a fat dump. While I prefer Addison, I wouldn’t be upset if we decided to take Wright, Jones or Harrison over him. I just think Addison is a sure thing and would be a great contributor for 5 years. don’t hold your breath.

Sorry, I haven’t been following whatever conversation is going on. You think we should trade for Renfrow and Maxx? Lol. They aren’t trading Maxx. He’s the ONLY beloved raider right now (I live in Vegas and everyone LOVES that guy). The raiders also have an almost 50M dead cap hit if they trade him. and how would we fit this 30m+ under the cap. or maybe I missed the sarcasm?

Take a MLB…..with a 2nd rd grade with a 1st rd pick….. over a WR or a OT. Just no. but we probably will and then we can run Gabe Davis out there at WR2 and Spencer Brown at RT and score 10 points in the AFCCG again. Our OL sucked. Our WRs outside of Diggs sucked. We have Josh Allen….. give him SOMETHING
-
Right….and addison IS currently seen as a 1st round pick….if not early 2nd round pick. Im not saying anything about the future. I’m saying that I think, in THIS draft class, he should be a first round pick. I’m saying that I think he’d be a great pick and fit for us. I think he’s a much better all around WR than Gabe Davis and would start over himright now. I don’t think there’s any other WR in the class that would for sure start over Gabe other than maybe JSN…. But he’s best inside.

The point is- many are bringing up age as a con. No one is bringing up H as a con. So your comparison makes no sense. Back on topic- I don’t think it’s a terrible idea. I don’t think we will or should do this considering our current situation. The window is now. Another season without a SB could be the end of McB. I don’t think that’ll be the case, but it’s possible. So I don’t see why McB would do this, especially this offseason. If we had won the SB last year, it makes a lot of sense. that said, I like Hooker and think he has a chance. I agree that the Vikings and ravens are in play in rd 1

That’s a good trade. I hope we pull this off because Addison will be gone by the time we pick We have 3 guards that are all better than our RT and you’d rather draft another guard? I don’t get this
-
You’re saying that Diggs isn’t worth a 1st round pick because he was drafted in round 5? In a redraft, he’d be a top 10 from that class. If not, top 5
-
https://ras.football/2020/01/20/stefon-diggs-ras/?amp that’s what they said about Diggs too
-
Again, very simple: because I think he’s a lot better than those guys in the 5th there’s a reason addison is regarded as one of the top WRs in the draft. You don’t see it because he’s small and you’re certainly entitled to it. The majority of the board obviously disagrees with your take. I explained in detail why I like him. Yet you continue to badger. Just agree to disagree and get over it. I’ve already explained my reasoning
-
Yes, I feel a lesser version of a first team all pro WR is worth burning a first on. word it however you like
-
Thanks. It’s such an important trait to have as a WR and generally something that you have or don’t have. It’s a feel that many players never develop. He has it in spades and it’s one of the main reasons he’s open so often.
-
I agree that protecting Josh is the #1 priority. If we took Harrison over Addison, I would understand why. I just see Addison as a 1st rd prospect while the OTs available are more 2nd rd picks. Just a hunch- people that don’t like addison haven’t watched enough of him or are generally opposed to drafting smaller players. I am definitely generally opposed to drafting smaller players due to injury concerns. But I’ve watched a lot of Addison and only have the one concern.
-
Simply put. I see a weaker version of Stefon Diggs. His footwork and route running stands out to me the most. He has innate understanding of leverage and how to utilize it. No wasted movement. Great release packages, change of direction and body control. 4.49 is plenty fast enough when you know how to play WR like addison does. Injury risk due to size is the only con I see. He’s tough to cover.

Addison. 💯
-
I like him. If he were there in rd 3, I’d run to the podium. Decent value as a Rd 2 pick. At the 27th pick, I don’t like it. I think he’ll be gone before our pick in rd 2 strictly because he brings an entirely different dimension. He can change an offense. I’m a big believer in 12 personnel and hope that we implement it into our offense. It creates lots of mismatches in todays nfl with so many teams running nickel as their base. He would be an asset in the run and pass game. My only question would be, can Dorsey make the best use of him. He’s been a believer of 12 personnel in the past. But show me the baby.
-
I think it’s very short sighted to look at the WRs and think “I want elite size or elite speed” when the most important attributes are getting open and catching the ball.
-
Yeah Davis was solid…. But he also played guard. He didn’t have to worry about the speed rush on the outside. There have a been a bunch of mountainous OTs. They just disappear into the abyss of fats and you forget about them. on a more serious note, I hear what you’re saying. There aren’t a lot of them…. But the fact the fact that there are so few we can name as “good”, gives me much to worry about. I’d rather have Harrison, Mauch, Bergeron and possibly Duncan.
-
Trent Brown had his moments too. But also showed that he was pretty terrible when he wasn’t at his absolute best.
-
You want a WR with elite size? All time, how many WRs with elite size have turned out to be great? Maybe 1 out of 100 imo
