You didn’t ask me but I’ll give my take- I thought it was a play that the great CBs often get away with. Peter’s (who isn’t great) was doing the same thing vs Cinci all game on Sunday. Was it a penalty? According to rules, yes. Does it often go uncalled? Oh yeah. The great corners push the limits on contact and know what they can and can’t get away with (within the limits). They won’t always get away with it, but i feels Tre’s penalty was often overlooked.

They “collided”??? Pass whatever you’re smoking over here. He CLEARLY puts his hand in the upper middle of Andrews’ back and extends his left arm and pushes Andrew’s to the ground.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

Mike Gesicki is a free agent. Would the Bills take a flyer on him?
NewEra replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
He would be a perfect fit in that type of system. He definitely has his limitations in the pass game, but he might eventually be the best blocking TE ever. He’s a demon in that department. Rd 3- I’d be happy with him but I don’t know if he’ll fall that far. Maybe a trade up into rd 3. -
That sucks. He’s amazing

I get your point, but I’m not saying we should run more per say. Just more effectively. Create more mismatches vs all of these team playing nickel and dime all game. I’d take 2 knox’s over 1 knox and 1 midget slot with a negative catch radius. Especially a midget slot that can’t block worth a dam. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be 60-40 pass to run. I’m saying that if we ran a lot of 2TE sets with 2 formidable and complete TEs- opposing defenses would be forced to play us honest as opposed to doing everything in their power yo take Diggs out of the game or play the cover 2 she’ll all game. We could dictate what the defense does, not the other way around. Our Rb rush effectiveness would increase. Our QB rush production would increase and, imo, our pass effectiveness would increase as well once teams started to play us more honest. jmo -

Skylar Thompson could’ve won that Super Bowl vs Mahomes 😉 -

Bills-Dolphins most watched Wild Card game in 9 years
NewEra replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Impressive- largest WC spread ever and it’s the most watched in 9 years. -
Bill's offense highest graded of the weekend Games. Defense second best.

Yeah I took the blitzes into consideration. They made things more difficult and those are on Josh, not the OL. I just can’t fathom a situation where our OL was #1 pats blocking out of 12 teams after our QB was sacked 7 times. agreed 💯. The close games we’ve played the last 2/3 of the season are a result of self inflicted wounds. Which is good and bad. Good because we control our destiny and have experience winning close games. Bad because self inflicted wounds can be deadly. -
I’m talking about turnovers- you’re talking about interceptions. The narrative? Ummmmm….. maybe because Josh led the league in turnovers. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/most-turnovers-by-a-nfl-player-in-2022 The 3 turnovers were the reason our season almost ended vs a 3rd string qb. No other reason. Just the turnovers. Take them out of the equation and we blow them out. Going into yesterday, he had 2 playoff turnovers (1 int, 1 fumble) in 6 games. He more than doubled that on Sunday. my post was directed to 808 in regards to him never saying anti-bills, even when there’s obviously an issue. Josh’s turnovers are worrisome to 99.9% of the professional football world, only to be blown off by select mafia members. You can find stats to try and twist things up to prove whatever point you want to make. My point was- turning the ball over is the biggest error a player can make on the football fields and Josh led the league in errors. He had 3 more in a playoff game where we were favored by 14 and won by a FG vs a 3rd string qb who was terrible. hence the narrative

Bryce Young vs CJ Stroud - Both in the Draft now
NewEra replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Young is the best QB in the class but I wouldn’t roll the dice on him surviving to play 12-15 years as the teams franchise star. His frame just doesn’t pass the eye test for an NFL QB. There are exceptions and I wish the kid well. He seems like a class act. i could see stroud becoming a franchise QB but I think the chances are less than 50% I would take Levis before Young -

I think the opposite. I’d love to see Josh and Cook lined up behind two stud TEs that can both block, run and catch. Diggs and a solid WR2 out wide. It bolsters the run game and puts more pressure on the D to stop the run and not only focus on Josh. Playaction improves. Run game improves. Pass game gets some pressure taken off of it while being just as potent. Most teams gear up to stop the pass- we would create mismatches in both the run and pass game. That said, I doubt we’ll ever see what it would look like. -

That chart says we also had the #1 rated pass blocking unit- as we gave up 7 sacks. I think that was on Josh. Could be Dorsey too, but there were plenty of plays where guys underneath were open, Josh decided to let it rip. -
The pessimism thread - That game didn’t go as planned
NewEra replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brown: 28% of the snaps + 1 target = that large of a role Beasley played 42% and had a TD and 29 yard catch. 9/16 3rd down conversions- 316 passing yards. Over 100 rushing yards. the passing game didn’t suffer because McKenzie was out. McKenzie wouldn’t have reduced the 7 sacks or the turnover. -

I’ll take him as a slot WR/ red zone threat if he wants to take a 2-3M on a prove it deal. if we’re going to add a TE, I’d prefer one that is a proven blocker with the ability catch some passes. We already have a pretty good non blocking TE2 in Morris -
Of course there are times where he gets through…..my point was, teams have done a better job with closing off the middle this year compared to years past.
-
Daboll is the difference. He went from being poor to a very good QB in one year. Now Danny will get 40M+. Luckily for the Gmen, Daboll won’t be leaving.
-
I don’t think I’ll ever find you saying anything negative about the bills. Ever. Which is fine, it’s a bills message board and many never like to discuss negative aspects about their favorite past time. I don’t feel that we should be worried as next week is different game, but Josh leading the league in turnovers is a problem. Daboll clearly had a calming affect on Josh and Josh misses him. I knew he would be a big loss but I didn’t think Josh would revert to turning the ball over so much.

Watch it again

You don’t notice teams doing a better job against his runs this year? Of course you have. But just argue to argue
-
It seems teams in general have been doing a better job on his runs up the middle this year.

I enjoy your posts and respect your acumen. You have to be the most optimistic Bills fan I’ve encountered. I can’t recall one negative post that you’ve ever made. that said- there are things to worry about. A poor Miami D sacked us 7 times, Josh fumbled 3 times and threw 2 picks. The OL is terrible in pass protection. Our OC only dialed up zero targets for Cook and motor. It’s not the end of the world and next week is a new game. A new game plan and hopefully better play from the OL can bring better results. Our offense is great- but it was way too 17 dependent yesterday behind an OL that couldn’t protect him.
