  1. I think people are excited about him because this class is so bad. He’s the only big guy with elite upside. What he could be is spectacular and better than anyone in the draft. In a draft as weak as this years, he’s the perfect guy to roll the dice on. I see the problems with his hands- but everyone else is sub 6 foot, sub 166-190lbs. Size is nice to have. Coach him up. Let Diggs work with him. Gabe is a super hard worker and going into his FA year. You can bet he’ll be working his tail off even harder. Johnston would be in a great WR room. That stuff cannot be discounted in regards to an athletes maturation. I’d be pumped but my first year expectations would be tempered. I think gabe would probably start
  2. Trading up twice will leave us 2 nothing but those 2. Trading away a pick next year is possible I suppose, but Beane hasn’t done that to date iirc. But maybe. If he’s eager to fill these holes with the best quality players. I think it’s more likely that we trade down and trade up but not sure in which order. But please…. No corners in rd 1 unless it’s Witherspoon or Gonzalez. I could see McD falling in love with Branch though too That would be great
  3. Watching the most recent Sam Monsons (Pff) mock draft- Cam Smith- 🤮 They dismissed Elam. said there were no LBs or DTs worthy. Offensive line- maybe- BPAs we’re Myles murphy, Bresee, mcdonald, mayer, flowers, Forbes, mazi. Anton harrison went top 20 iirc
  4. I really think Kincaid will be the best pass catcher on the board when we pick…. If he’s on the board. Would love him
  5. It’s definitely looking like we should trade up in rd 2. Maybe some of these OL fall…. But I really don’t think they will. It’s really such a weak class, seems like everyone needs OL help, inside and tackles. There’s just a real shortage of good OL play and there look to be some solid prospects. I think the OL we hope slip to us in rd 2 are gonna be gone- same for MLB- same for WR…… We’re definitely going to draft DL and DB with our first 2 picks 🤣
  6. Dam you!! I was going to trade up for him but was too lazy. should’ve known you’d take him. with the 50th pick, the LA Rams select, OT Cody Mauch, North Dakota St. Offensive line play was the reason we went from champs to chumps. We need help everywhere along the OL and are happy to get a versatile beast in Mauch. We’ll start him at tackle and see how he does. We think, at worst, he’ll be a very good guard. @TBBills Fan and the fish stank are on the clock.
  7. I’m glad he’s back. I think Shaq and Phillips should’ve alternated “more than the minimum contracts”- Shaq is getting just over 2M for his 2 years- while Phillips got around 8 for his 2 years. Shaq was a much bigger contributor in 2022 and much more dependable.
  8. You might be right, but need for Offensive line around the league is real. I think there will be 3 MLB taken before we draft, so I don’t think they are going “that much” higher than they will irl. We shall ser
  9. nice- never had it but I’ve seen it at Total Wine before. I like the labeling. Random
  10. Becasue we have 2 more mocks scheduled before the draft. Drafting players that the majority of the board knows rather than having 90% players selected in rd 4-7 being unknown to the most. I don’t think anyone sees much fun in that and it’s a lot of work for virgil (moderating trades and keeping the board updated). What are you specifically drinking in the pub?
  11. I hope so…. I hope he’s a Bill.
  12. yeah I knew you’d go OT, but wasn’t sure which one. Anton’s run blocking has been meh. Now you have two pass blocking finesse bookend in harrison and Dillard. Which is good for most teams. Might have to have Bijan doing the heavy lifting in the run game while passing a bit more
  13. sorry was eating dinner. Lol. I knew he was gonna take Harrison. Dam you alpha! We had a trade in place but @frostbitmic had no incentive to get picks that aren’t in this draft. 😢 Oh well. With the 42nd pick, the NY Jets select Matthew Bergeron, OT Syracuse. Tackle is a massive need. He’s the next best on our board. Dawand jones was an option but the Jets have learned their lesson. We won’t be drafting huge mountainous men with hopes they stay healthy anymore. @bkep32is on the board.
  14. No, not all are idiots. Lamar is though. He’s the greedy idiot that refused to pay an agent and then turned down 200M guaranteed. I like Lamar. I root for many non Bills, but I root for Lamar to do well. That doesn’t change the fact that he screwed up.
  15. Like last year. Once I saw Wan’Dale, Metchie and thornton all get drafted prematurely i figured it was time to strike. The price to trade up was getting lower and lower. Pickens sitting there 5 picks prior to our pick. He was taken @ 52 and we picked @ 57. Just a few picks before, NE traded up 4 spots to land Thornton. The price to move up was a 5th. it seemed like we just sulked, traded down and over drafted a RB we were all hoping to get in rd 3.
  16. 💯 and not just the back of the HC
  17. Not really. I’m sure there would be other offensive players that I would prefer. If we traded down mid 2nd and we’re able to draft Campbell + (Bergeron, Dawand, Mauch, Duncan, Avila, Schmitz or tippman) then I’d be ok with it. I just want to upgrade our OL. It was our downfall last season imo. While I think we’ve improved it some, it’s not solidified by any means. McB owes it to Josh and the fan base give him better protection and weapons. As a rule, I prefer not to spend a first round pick on a mlb.
  18. I think your vision of “many” is clouded by a select few. Yes, there were a few posters who said he was bad, but I wouldn’t my label it as many. He just wasn’t living up to what we had hoped for and wasn’t going to be worth his next contract. From my experience here, most people thought he was an average to above average LB prior to 2023. All the tools to be a top player, but something was missing. Then it clicked for him this year and he was closer to the player we thought we were getting when we drafted him.
  19. I’m fine with Campbell being our starting Mike. I just don’t want to spend our first rd pick on a Mike. I want a tackle or a playmaker on O. If we trade down and draft him, so be it. It fills a need…. But I’d rather fill that need with a cheap vet + what we have rather than using our most prized offseason asset on a non premium position. my point was- 245-255 isn’t ideal for a MLB in 2023. I think it’s 235-245
  20. He isn’t getting paid because he’s a greedy idiot. He could’ve signed a fair very contract last year with 200M guaranteed. Then he failed to finish his 2nd consecutive season due to injury. Now people talk about race. Sad
  21. right- he played 240-245- you want your Mike to be 245-255. I don’t think Bernard will ever be a MLB for us and I suspect he’ll be a busted pick. I don’t think he can be worse than ford. We traded UP to get Ford and his play actually hurt our team. Bernard was a lesser pick and will play ST. If Bernard starts and is terrible while losing games for us, then maybe I’d agree with him being a worse pick
  22. And he was also weighed at 236- who knows what he played at- players usually lose weight during the season. I’m quite confidant that he played several games under 240. My point was- Ethan wants his Mike to be 245-255. You want your Mike weighing 255? Edmunds is the the most athletic big man freak MLB in history and he weighed 250. Guys with that kind of body usually don’t run like Maine. I’d much rather have mine 235-245. 255 is a 4-3 DE.
  23. And he’s not here because it took him 5 years to figure it out. If he had played like he played last year, in 2021 and 2022, he’d still be on the team. The Giants paid Kenny Golladay 4-72M. They weren’t right.
  24. I doubt we go into the season with Spector/Dodson as the top options, but I think Spector has an outside shot at the job in 2024…. If we sign a vet and don’t draft anyone. There are a handful of FAs that, I think, would be almost as good if not better than any rookie, strictly for the 2023 season. Spector and maybe Bernard will continue to learn the system and get stronger. Maybe one takes the job in 2024 or midway through 23. being forced to take a 2nd round talent in rd 1 because of need = 💩 I think all of these LBers are overrated tbh. All have significant deficiencies- 2 of them (Simpson and Sanders) have subpar instincts and experience playing the Mike while the most complete guy, Campbell, will get outran by every RB and TE as he ran a 4.65.
