9/24/23 Week 3 GAMEDAY Bills vs Commanders Pregame Thread
NewEra replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
This OL is much better than the chiefs OL that lost to the Bucs. There is not doubt. Not sure why you would think THAT OL is better than any OL evver. It was all backup bums and is the reason they invested so much in the OL since that game -
🤣 my bad! I woke up to take a dump, saw your post and replied to it. Didn’t notice the wink nor did read anything upthread.

Wow!!!!!!!! Phil Hansen is on the WoF. He’s not nearly as excellent as Kent Hull!! See what I did there? You’re saying that one player isn’t worthy of the WoF because he wasn’t as good as other players mentioned. If that were the case, then several current WoF members shouldn’t be on the wall. And as I said…..I can understand if others disagree with them. Fred was my guy. Probably my favorite Bill to date. I loved what he stood for. I loved his running style and I loved his relentlessness on the field. Maximizing every run with his effort. If he was on the 90’s team instead of Thurman, I believe he’d be in the HoF and the WoF. He wasn’t nearly as good as TT, but he would’ve put up HoF numbers for that team. I feel that RBs that play in offenses with crappy QBs and crappy WRs are at a serious disadvantage. During his time as a Bill, starters at LT and RT included Kirk Chambers, Mansfield Wrotto, Erik Pears, Chris Hairston, Langston Walker, Demetress Bell and Seantrel Henderson. He had Peters for a year and Cordy for a few years, but overall, our OL was not good. His WRs were straight trash. His QBs were straight trash. His TEs were straight trash. And for one season, 2011, he was in the running for MVP, before an injury ended his season after 10 games. With Hairston and Pears as his tackles, he averaged 5.5 ypc. That team started out 5-2 (thanks to him) and ended up winning one game after his injury. but if you disagree….. I understand. For me, he’s an all time Bill. During a time of serious futility, Fred kept me interested and gave me something to root for during his 8 years as a Bill. To me, that makes him worthy of the WoF

Sign me up for Moulds, Kyle and Fred. Putting them on the wall separates them from the other very good Bills. Imo, they deserves separation. They were special Bills to me. I can understand if others disagree

We have the horses in the short passing game again. All game, every game. Do it

Oline/QB Unforced Error All 22 Review - Week 2 Raiders
NewEra replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is the thread I look forward to most each week. Thanks for taking the time @Bocephuz. We really appreciate you 👊🏻 edit: the shakir TD was my second fav throw he’s ever made. My favorite being, also against the raiders in 2020, the TD to John Brown. Very similar to the shakir TD but a little further outside and against great D and 10 yards further iirc. just incredible stuff. Like Garrett Wilson’s TD catch vs us, only in QB terms and not really talked about in the media. -
That’s my comparison to date. Likely poor man’s Jamaal Charles…….. but the sky is the limit if our OL and Dorsey continue to improve.

I’d be running screens all day against us if I were an opposing OC

Funny how everyone neglects to start at the top. Spanos. Spanos. Spanos. Spanos. And more Spanos. Telesco, at the helm for all these years, has been solid in terms of acquiring talent. Too bad talent doesn’t mean crap if you don’t have a coach. His neglect of the HC position has put his talent at a disadvantage. Spanos has allowed Telesco to neglect the HC position. No accountability. No success

Eric Bieniemy giving Matt Milano his flowers

I love me some Matt Milano. That is all. -
And then there were 2. Philly or SF. Whichever team stays healthier will win the NFC imo.

Week 3, Bills v. WTF's - Predict the Score
NewEra replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
If it’s rainy and windy 16-13 washington If it’s not rainy and windy 73-0 bills -
Adams is mad and he’s digging deep on Pat Rapp. Can’t blame him. Was an obvious penalty. Rapp just trying to make a play but overestimated his own speed. Too slow, got there too late. Deserved a flag

He fights for yards just fine

Jimbo wasn’t seen at practice today according to Getzenberg hopefully it’s nothing to worry about

The first play of the 2nd qtr, Spillane had a clear run at cook in the backfield and smacked him dead on. Cook bounced off of him and got 4 yards that he shouldn’t have had…..IF he didn’t have sufficient contract balance. That’s what breaking tackles is 90% of the time. Spillane didn’t really attempt to wrap him up….and if he did, cook probably would’ve been tackled….just as the majority of the nfl RBs would’ve been. He’s not going to be a grinder that consistently moves the pile because of his physical makeup….but his YPC tells us that’s he’s a legit starting RB that the opposition will have to start paying more attention to. Teams wanting to cover 2 shell us to death are going to have to deal with him and Kincaid.

His ceiling is limited? Is he going to become Mahomes or Allen? Of course not. I think he has the tools to be as good or even better than Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Kirk Cousins, Dak and Tua. He has a good arm and is more than mobile enough. Imo, those are the 2 things that cap a players ceiling other than his mental makeup. He had the 2nd highest wonderlic (34) in his class. 6’1 220 isn’t ideal and, imo, is the reason he slipped. The kid is a competitor and understands the nuances of playing the position. I don’t know if he’ll be a star, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him as Washington’s long term starter
-
I hear ya. I recognize that I’m a novice and often incorrect. I gave him around a 30% chance to be our starting Mike this season (and only that high because the competition was poor) and around a 15% chance of being our answer going forward

It is crazy to those that watch college football, watch film and read scouting reports. Some people find it enjoyable to scout players. That’s not you. Cool, but you shouldn’t expect anyone else not to have their own opinion of players just because you don’t choose to have an opinion. My original opinion of him- very worried about his size, play strength and potential for injury. Loved his instincts and ability to fly to the ball.
