Of course I speak of offseason vaguery. I’m speculating about a group of players that we haven’t seen play together yet. I’m giving my opinion about the future…. I find it hard to discuss specifics. Dallas was the only great offense last year. Got it. They weren’t even the best offense. I should’ve just said an offense capable of winning a Super Bowl knowing someone would nitpick. i calculate “deepest” using my opinion on the WRs 4-6 in the past vs this years. It’s not very difficult. Rocket science

I don’t believe we have a top 5 playmakers unit but I also don’t believe we have to have one to have a great offense. I like the group and I think it’s the deepest WR we’ve had since we’ve been here. Basically meaning that the WR 4-6 this year are the best under McD. WR 1-3 is worse than every season in which Diggs played here but will be better than the units pre-Diggs Our RBs are top of the line. Both Cook and Davis have tremendous potential in the pass game. Kincaid and Knox are one of the top TE duos in the league with Kincaid having untapped potential. That’s already 4 very solid pass catchers. All with above average to very good RAC ability. Samuel, Shakir and Coleman all with very good RAC ability and adept at catching the ball. Hollins and MVS can both play outside and excel as blockers in both the run and pass game (as does Coleman). Claypool has some appeal too but I’m not counting on him. Overall, I think we have a great group of pass catchers from 1-20 yards. It’s going to be all on Brady to scheme the 20+ passing game. I think samuel, shakir and Kincaid have the ability to separate and make plays downfield within the scheme of the play. Keon, MVS and Hollins more of downfield jump ball and scramble drill targets. We have guys that can make plays. It’s all on Brady and 17 imo. I think we’ve seen teams with lesser groups of pass catchers win super bowls.

We don’t know all the circumstances on why he isn’t there, but I agree. If he isn’t missing it due to something important, this is a poor decision.

Josh thinks he can come off the bench in the NBA
NewEra replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Again……. If they can get up to speed. you’re assuming that’s impossible. I’m assuming that it’s possible for someone to excel at hockey at a young age and also excel at other sports. Ever see Colton Orr or Derek Boogard play hockey? They stunk. They were there for one reason and it wasn’t to play hockey -
Looks like he’s competing with gunner olzsewski for the returner job/WR6. Hodgins is also likely in the mix for WR6.

My point was, if you can get an nfl or nba player up to speed. You can’t say that that’s impossible because some players may already be very good skaters. It’s not as if there aren’t any players that played hockey growing up. Lukas Van Ness was an accomplished hockey player. He was an enforcer in HS but stopped playing to pursue football. I can’t say that he couldn’t have been as good as Colton Orr and Derek Boogard. Enforcers have a role in the NHL and some of them weren’t very good at playing hockey. I get your point though. You aren’t getting an nba/nfl player up to speed if they haven’t skated before. -

Never unsderstoos that ranking. Die hard UNC hoops fan here. Dude was turrble on the court AND on the gridiron in college. Just awful. To my eye, he was the epitome of an incredible athlete that very little skill or sports IQ. His only chance to play in the nfl was at WR and had zero chance at making the NBA. He was one of the most athletic specimens in HS sports history. He was a Hs legend for sure. When he spurned his hometown school, UVA, for UNC, it sent shockwaves throughout the state. He chose UNC because wanted to focus on making the NBA because nba players made more money, but he also started played QB I think Suggs was a better prospect in both sports The name that has escaped me throughout this thread is Charlie Ward. Heisman trophy winning QB who was drafted in the 1st rd, played (and started) in the nba for several seasons. He wasn’t drafted in the nfl, partly due to nfl teams knowing he had a better chance of playing basketball. I remembering reading that the KC chiefs almost drafted him in rd 2, but didn’t want to risk wasting the pick if he went to the nba. -

For sure and the two best players in the nba today can’t run or jump and are known for their indulgences with booze. They are exceptions rather than the rule, similar to Wayne. was wayne not considered a great skater? . -

Hockey is a completely different realm because it requires the athlete to already be an incredible ice skater. Nba and NFL players are running. Give some nba and nfl players up to speed on skates and they could compete+ imo -

Allen Iverson may have been able to. We’ll obviously never know- but he was a ridiculous HS QB that decided to focus on Basketball -

Jalen Suggs is NOT 240. I agree, Josh wouldn’t look big on the basketball. He’d have to play like Josh Hart. Wing that can hit the boards, play d and hit 3s. Anyone can stick in the nba if they can play D and hit 3’s. That’s what the league has become because it’s nearly impossible to stop penetration. Penetration to get the D to rotate and pass til you get an open 3. That IS the NBA. -
I think his time on the couch next to Kumerow is coming soon. Maybe in 2025.

I didn’t say the only reason he’s on the team is because they like him as a person. They obviously like his speed, it’s the only thing he brings to the table on the football field. I should’ve been more detailed in my explanation. if they didn’t like him as a person, he wouldn’t be on the team. He was suspended for the season for conduct detrimental to a team. If they didn’t like him as a person. I don’t see why a coach/GM would sign a player that was a poor punt returner while also getting the 🥾 if they didn’t like the guy in the locker room, why would they risk bringing him in? Because they know and like him…..and he’s fast. If he was just fast….he wouldn’t have been signed imo.

Same could be said for John Brown and Cole Beasley. Josh got Gabe Davis 13M a year. Obviously a gross overpay. he made Robert Foster look like an NfL WR. He’s made chicken salad out of chicken **** before. He’ll do it again. Not sure who, but if we’re going to take this route (no big name WRs) i’m glad we’re rolling the low risk dice on physically talents guys.

NewEra replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ouch- was really hoping Yttv would be an option. It’s been my best experience so far with regards to cable. IPTV looks like the best route overall so far. thanks to everyone who’s chimed in 👍🏻
