  1. The first case is a tax case — a 16th Amendment case — Moore v. United States. Thomas and Gorsuch dissent, Barrett and Alito concur. As SCOTUSblog puts it: "Because the couple in the case here never actually received the investment gains that were subject to the tax, Thomas contends, they cannot be taxed as 'income' under the Sixteenth Amendment." In Thomas's words: "Sixteenth Amendment 'income' is only realized income. We should not have hesitated to say so in this case." AND: "We have the second opinion. It is Chiaverini v. City of Napoleon. It is by Justice Kagan and the vote is 6-3. Thomas dissents, joined by Alito; Gorsuch has his own dissent." From the syllabus of the opinion: "The presence of probable cause for one charge in a criminal proceeding does not categorically defeat a Fourth Amendment malicious-prosecution claim relating to another, baseless charge." ALSO: Diaz v. US. — "It is 6-3, with a Gorsuch dissent joined by Sotomayor and Kagan." "The court holds that expert testimony that 'most people" have a particular mental state is not an opinion about the defendant and therefore does not violate federal evidentiary rules." FINALLY: Gonzales v. Trevino: "The per curiam opinion agrees with Gonzalez, the woman who was arrested, that the court of appeals took a view of Nieves that was too narrow. Requiring her to provide examples of people who also mishandled a government petition but were not arrested 'goes too far,' the court holds." .

  3. Funny, NEWSBUSTERS does this for a living and has been for almost two decades. So I tend to accept their 'fact checking'
  4. I have no intention of arguing religion with Frankie. But please note how he misses the entire point. God was testing Abraham's faith, not asking for blood. Geez, even little kids know this. .

  7. Nobody Is Really in the Mood for President Harris to Happen. “The thing about that very real prospect is that it doesn’t make anyone happy. It’s no secret that most Democrats are no more fond of Madame Vice President than Republicans are. I’m fairly certain that’s behind the feverish attempt to create the ‘cheap fakes’ false narrative.” https://pjmedia.com/stephen-kruiser/2024/06/20/the-morning-briefing-nobody-is-really-in-the-mood-for-president-harris-to-happen-n4930006 .
  8. Still RELIABLE. . . . . . . . . . . for the Left. CBS, NBC OMIT Reporting On Illegal Alien Rapist Caught In NYC by Jorge Bonilla On the day that President Joe Biden announced his much-ballyhooed executive order on immigration, other immigration news broke. Most of the major networks omitted the story, as it does not reflect favorably on Biden’s immigration policy. Shockingly, the most Biden-sycophantic network reported on the arrest of the illegal alien child rapist that was busted in New York City after citizens intervened. Watch the report in its entirety, as aired on ABC World News Tonight on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024: https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/jorge-bonilla/2024/06/19/cbs-nbc-omit-reporting-illegal-alien-rapist-caught-nyc .
  9. Clearly will be overturned. as it should be. But those who have read the article realize that this was NOT the "religious fanatic takeover" that tibsy is trying to pass off on the board. Here is the lines immediately following where he quoted. The posters, which will be paired with a four-paragraph “context statement” describing how the Ten Commandments “were a prominent part of American public education for almost three centuries,” must be in place in classrooms by the start of 2025. Under the law, state funds will not be used to implement the mandate. The posters would be paid for through donations. The law also “authorizes” but does not require the display of other items in K-12 public schools, including: The Mayflower Compact, which was signed by religious pilgrims aboard the Mayflower in 1620 and is often referred to as America’s “First Constitution"; the Declaration of Independence; and the Northwest Ordinance, which established a government in the Northwest Territory — in the present day Midwest — and created a pathway for admitting new states to the Union. .
  10. Holder worried Supreme Court will come to ‘dangerous’ conclusion on Trump immunity The Hill, by Tara Suter Former Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday he is concerned that the Supreme Court will come to a “dangerous” conclusion on former President Trump’s claim of presidential immunity, partly because it has taken time for the justices to reveal their decision. Trump has made the immunity claim on charges related to the federal cases he faces on storing classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida and related to the 2020 election and the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4730568-eric-holder-concerned-trump-immunity/ .
