  1. in all seriousness though, IF Russ had a relationship with a woman at PSE is that really such an awful offense? So Jim and Pam from the office isn't something to cry into your personal Ben and Jerry's pint over then?! It has to be something more for there to be an investigation into "misconduct" I would think... Tons of people meet their significant other through work. It doesn't warrant an "internal investigation" into the matter.
  2. It's odd that Russ had a blowup with McDermott since Russ was just up in the business office crunching numbers and selling seats. I can't think of any reason why coach would be that mad unless Russ was sticking his nose where it didn't belong OR pulling a Ted Nolan with a player's wife or something. Beane and McDermott are really Terry and Kim's first hires, given that Rex happened right after they took over and were not prepared for that type of turnover. Russ was the pool table in the basement that came with the house, and they finally decided to put him up on Criagslist
  3. remember last year when McBeane sent Dareus, Darby, and Sammy packing? Everyone went nuts. TANKING! Yet they go 9-7 and break the drought. The defense was much improved. Guys like Poyer and Hyde, who were thought of as fine but unspectacular veterans, come in and become fantastic players for the team. MAYBE (just maybe) the people running the show are smart and good at evaluating talent. Don't forget it's not just Beane, he stocked up the front office as well. I'll trust them, since they had enough conviction to go get Allen, over some whiny talk show hosts on WGR any day. If you want, you can find plenty of "smart football people" who like Allen too. Simms and Kiper are just a couple, for what it's worth (which isn't much to me). We have some "smart football people" running this team now, I think.
  4. the thing that bugs me is smug ignoramuses like Schopp and White whose argument is pretty much as follows: 1) The Bills made the WRONG MOVE by drafting Allen. 2) You CANNOT disagree because all the DATA show clearly that it was a bad move. 3) Therefore, Beane was wrong. 4) If Allen is good people will be happy, but it was still the WRONG MOVE anyway, and they just got lucky. I mean, really. LOL or MAYBE Beane knows what he is doing and watched the tape and scouted the kid more than radio hosts and fans did, and therefore had more comprehensive DATA at his disposal that none of us (even the great Jeremy White) had. Schopp likes to play the "lots of smart football people" card a lot when it comes to Allen, even as he mocks most of them and says that the draft is mostly luck anyway. These guys just want to bash the Bills, so they have it set up that either way they are wrong. Allen is great? Thank your lucky stars that you got lucky then, because it was still a bad decision!
  5. Excellent! This increases our chances of seeing the broken down version of Brady who actually LOOKS 40+ years old. We have earned it I think!
  6. I also LOVED Harrison's interview... The guy seems like a fan favorite in the making. If the Bills hit on QB, LB, DT and G this draft then it's a home run.
  7. IMO it would have taken the 2 1sts this year, Gronk, and a 1st next year to move down that much.
  8. Everyone says they want the front office to identify a guy and go get him, so they did. Now let's see if it works
  9. for the "smart guy" QB his wonderlic wasn't that impressive... We got the smart guy. Rosen is the wanna be smart guy, who uses stats from Wikipedia in arguments and "big words" he doesn't pronounce quite right and doesn't fully understand
  10. we'll do the whole "he's going to sit" routine for about 5 minutes, say over and over that AJ is the starter, then Allen will end up starting. It might be after the obligatory week or two of flop from AJ to justify it though.
  11. John Allen's career is initially going to be 100% about politics and Kapernick now As usual, it will be blown out of proportion and made into something bigger than it is
  12. no need to panic... It's just so that scheduling their one game a year there is easier! It's worth a billion dollars to do that!
  13. It would be a major letdown, but you can't panic and do something stupid if a guy you love isn't there. The QB craze will push other players down to 12. I might trade out of 12, pick up an extra 2nd this year, and draft TWO 2nd round QBs, hoping to hit on one.
  14. If the Browns take Mayfield, the Giants take Darnold and the Jets take Rosen my excitement for the draft will take a nosedive quickly. I would stay at 12 then and just fill holes and hope for Keenum next offseason.
  15. You could have the guard of all guards. A man who will 100% win his matchup and neutralize ANY interior DL every single play. He WILL always open a hole. And I'll just line my best DL up somewhere else and exploit one of your other 4 OL.
  16. When you have to be to work by 6 AM you are not going to get enough sleep. It's just a fact. You will be losing 1-2 hours per night, minimum, 5 days a week, for decades. That adds up. Plus he's had to talk about QBs for the past 3 months straight!
  17. as someone else said, the plane is coming back tonight... dinner meeting with Browns executives to hash out the deal?
  18. did Belichick do Shanahan any favors in that Super Bowl? Why help them continue their dynasty, unless the price is so high that you bleed them dry. 2 1sts AND Gronk. Then you can have your guy to create an issue with Brady.
