  1. The offense isn’t “rewarded” when they fumble the ball out of bounds…they simply retain possession because the defense didn’t take it away. Nobody fumbles on purpose to gain an advantage — at least not since they changed the rule on advancing a fumble late in the game. Sorry, just not seeing your logic here.
  2. The big deal is that the defense didn’t recover the ball yet they receive a huge, game-changing reward. Maybe the revised rule should be that a team fumbling the ball through the end zone keeps possession but the LOS moves to the 20-yard line — or something like that.
  3. When a team kicks off or punts they are intentionally relinquishing the ball to the other team. It is anything other than "perfect sense" that a fumble out of the endzone is treated the same way.
  4. I see several people in this thread saying it's a great rule, but nobody can logically explain why. What has the defense done to deserve to possess the ball that is different from what happens when a player fumbles out of bounds?
  5. Why should fumbling into the end zone be different than fumbling out of bounds? It’s an insane rule that makes no sense on any level. The defense hasn’t “earned” the right to possess the ball. The only question is where to spot the ball for the next play, and placing it where the player fumbled or at the previous LOS are the two options that make the most sense to me.
  6. White helmet, blue jersey, white pants has been the Bills’ primary home kit since their inception. If that isn’t “classic” I don’t know what is…
  7. If you want to call them both “bad” losses that’s fine, but IMO what happened to the Fish was so much worse from a psychological standpoint.
  8. I think the 3rd tiebreaker is conference record.
  9. Yeah, that’s how I’m looking at it as well. It would not shock me to see the Fish completely collapse. That loss on Monday night was inexcusable, and worse than anything the Bills have done. Their offense with a gimpy Hill is pedestrian, and their defense is average.
  10. If we win the division (which seems to be the clearest path to the playoffs), the first game is at home. Dallas game is ginormous. Win that, and the pressure on the Fish will be intense.
  11. Yep. Thank god he didn’t hurt anyone else.
  12. Anyone who celebrates injuries is a complete schmuck. These guys lay it all the line to make as much bank as they can over an average of 4-5 years. Oh, and Squish the Fish.
  13. Sucks if they blindsided him with this, but I'll say he has really dropped off over the last couple of years. Happens to the best of 'em and he's a legend at his craft.
  14. I think if the kid has a brain in his head he understands that no team could keep him on their roster once that stuff came out. I'd be surprised if he holds any ill will towards Beane or the Bills.
  15. I don't understand your question. I think the post is self-explanatory.
  16. We will be there as well. Definitely. The Jets looked like a professional football team last Sunday. They destroyed Houston.
  17. It's possible. How do you recover from blowing a 14-pt lead at home in the last 5:00? And it looks like Hill will be a weekly injury issue from here on out.
  18. Dallas — @ Orchard Park Chargers (w/o Herbert) — @ SoFi that will be filled with Bills fans Pats*** — @ Orchard Park Fish — @ Hard Rock that will be filled with Bills fans No excuses. Four “home” games left. Go Bills
  19. 3rd quarter play calling and offensive strategy was a disaster. Glad they overcame it.
  20. I'm no McD apologist but this still doesn't make sense. If McD is the control freak Dunne makes him out to be there is no way he was allowing Dorsey to handle all of the "tactical details" regarding the offense. McD has openly said he wants Josh to play loose and have fun; I don't think for one moment he was trying to stifle him. If you listen to what McD said about the offense it is that it needs to be complementary and everything can't rest on Josh's shoulders. I am on the record that I don't think McD can get them over the hump and that he chokes in the big moments, but I also think people are going waaaay overboard with their theories of what goes on behind closed doors.
  21. This makes no sense at all, given what happened before and since Dorsey’s firing.
  22. Is that what you think I’m doing? I was only dispelling the myth that Macaroni Jones surgically moved down the field.
  23. You guys are forgetting that the first play of that drive sealed the deal. A stupid screen pass to Stevenson and a flurry of missed tackles later he had gained nearly 40 yards.
  24. I appreciate the optimism and anyone who doesn’t think there is a chance the Bills could run the table is just being obstinate. This board has become borderline unreadable over the past several weeks and when it’s no longer fun for me, I stay away. Hopefully the offense continues its resurgence and McD can get out of his own way during the last two minutes of football games. Go Bills
