Chiefs. If they are a wildcard they get 0 home games in the playoffs. Since Mahomes began starting they're 17-4 in the playoffs. 2-0 on the road. 3-2 at neutral sites. and 12-2 at home. This would force them to win 3 on the road to go to the super bowl, which is more than Mahomes currently has in his career. Think we still might have to play them in Buffalo this year.

Where are you seeing that pressure data? FWIW Buffalo also has the lowest air yards completed in the NFL at 194 yards across 46 completions. Miami had a CAY/comp (Completed air yards per completion - yards the ball traveled in the air past the line of scrimmage prior to a completion) of 1.3 yards. The average completion that Miami had in this game traveled less than 2 yards. Allen was also incredibly low at 2.4 in this game, so it might have been a scheme choice. Tua was dead last in this category last year at 4.1 (.1 yards behind Mahomie at 4.2), but 1.3 is really low. In the past he was always a very low% sack guy, and this game plan seemed to go even beyond his normal quick release to potentially avoid pressure.

I think they're asking him to earn it more than anything else. Solomon has the 3rd highest ST snap count on the team FWIW.

Jaxson Dart to start for Giants
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd probably take whatever is offered. The team is utter trash so you might as well save a little cash off his 2M salary and get something for him. -
He saved almost 8M dollars in not having an agent FWIW. Perhaps he wasn't interested in endorsements.

The dolphins offense scored 20 points on 4 scoring drives vs. NE and 21 points on 3 scoring drives vs. buffalo. NE allowed more yards, more passing yards, and more more net passing yards. NE had a better 3rd down defense percentage and more sacks, but buffalo forced 4 punts to 2 for NE.

Bills Defense, will it get better as season goes on
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was at the game, so admittedly i was more frustrated than able to really evaluate what was causing the issues. Requiring 10 3rd down conversions, and a 4th down conversion to only score 21 points is part of the complimentary football argument though. A complete and utter lack of big plays or explosives killed the dolphins in this one. I hate thursday football games, and i'm usually happy walking out with a win knowing neither team will look particularly good. I'd imagine missing 4 contributors/starters on the front 7 definitely doesn't help - Milano, Oliver, Hoecht, and Ogunjobi. -
Bills Defense, will it get better as season goes on

I try not to take TOO much stock in early season trends, especially with a weird divisional thursday game among the first 3 games. Clearly after week 1 they created a focus on preventing big plays, and the linebacker and safety play has been much improved. -

I know Miami had a really high 3rd and 4th down conversion percentage but the bills D had 5 stops on 8 possessions. You'd like to see a bend-but-don't break approach get a couple of RZ stops which could make the score something more like 31-13. They allowed 200 total passing yards across 2 games in 5 days to division rivals. One was a week after the jets looked competent against pittsburgh. Yes the rush defense is ranked among the worst in the league. But they also played 2 mobile QBs in the first 2 weeks (2 of the 3 QBs to ever to rush for 1000 yards in a season). QBs are definitely more athletic than they used to be, but these are two of the ones who actively run read-option looks and do it well. The dolphins have a very fast team with achane, hill, and waddle - there were 0 plays over 20 yards in the entire game. To me that's a sign for what the bills schemed up in a game on a short week. They looked terrible against baltimore, but the last 2 weeks i think they've been fine. Oliver, Milano, and Hairston all missing. Tre and TJ have missed time and are banged up. Couple of suspensions too. None of those are season ending, and players can and will get healthier as the season gets along - so 7 players who either aren't playing or aren't playing at their best. I'd expect the unit to improve as these guys get healthy and integrated. Baltimore played without madubuike and van noy last night - and it created a noticeable difference in their ability to pressure Goff, and stop the run. They went right at his backup all game long. -
Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think two divisional games in 5 days, against two teams who's best defenders are either pass rushers or corners, is always going to set up a week of boring offense. Best way to slow guys like Chubb, Phillips, and Sieler? Run it, ball out quick, make guys tackle, and avoid turnovers. -

They only showed it once at the stadium for some reason too. -
Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?

I think in a game where the oppositions best 3 defensive players are all defensive linemen, you get the ball out quick. The jets had some better DBs, but another defensive line that has given us some problems. Running allows your linemen to play in more of an attack mindset. Same with all of that quick stuff to the sideline, less protection, more hitting. Execution too. Missed blocks. Drops. The keon sideline to me was a poor throw, probably still should have had it, but that ball shoudl have been higher and more outside. -
I think the challenge there is that he's 6'2 with short arms, sub 300 lbs, and never played guard in college.
-
I think the plan was Morse for 2 years though.
-
You can't always do BPA though. In 2022 for example - they just extended morse, and linderbaum was too small (6'2 295) to play guard. So you're either cutting morse, and his cap hit is probably higher in 2022, or you would have been drafting a player in the first that will be firmly on the bench.

is he a slot receiver though? He seems to line up outside quite a bit.

Tom Brady: Broadcaster vs Owner Thread
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he wrote 25 articles about lamar not having an agent and that it was costing him money in the long run, and that its a distraction, and that he doesn't know how to negotiate. Like it was so obvious he was representing agents in his articles. 5 years and 260 million later (he'll save 7.8M on agent fee's in the life of this contract), i think Lamar's doing alright. Agent's help you secure other money opps like advertising and stuff, but they also take more of a % on those things. -
I think you can make the linderbaum argument in the first - he was a consensus first round guy. After that its a crapshoot. Round 2 - Cook leads all players in the 2022 draft in rushing yards, and is 3rd in rushing TDs. Hall in the 1st would be a worse use of resources. Round 3 - Starting MLB for the team after his rookie year, and one of only 2 team captains the last 2 seasons. I'm not sure there is anyone after that that projects to be your captain. Round 5 - Shakir was projected higher, and was a comparable prospect to someone like Moore that KC got in the 2nd. He was just the odd man out in a deep class so he Buffalo got a Starting RB, MLB, WR, and CB out of 8 picks, with only 3 in the top 100. Thats a good draft.

Bills vs Chiefs WR investment
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure what Miami would get back in the trade - but what is the point of tyreek as a deep threat when you have brown. For the motion looks they like to run, worthy seems to be the guy there. Rice is primarily in the slot. If Worthy projects to miss a lot of time going into the 2nd half maybe? I just feel like these WRs get brought on mid-season and never make the same level of impact. -

Can't stand florio. He's treating this whole situation like brady and media get some super juicy information and that its destroying the integrity of the NFL. Coaches look at it like - you already get the film? Brady's watched film for 25 years, he's going to get more out of that than a recording of a practice (that isn't an all-22) he probably didn't watch. As for interviews, same thing - you get 95% coach speak and the rest is just personal conversations. -

The media seems to be the one thinking this is a conflict though. Coaches never seem to care because they give the media nothing anyway. -

I think he's a genius and bought his way out of work. Spend money for minority ownership in a product that is guaranteed to increase in value. Get out of having to go to practices so I he can do it virtually - aka he's sitting on his ass at home not watching. Can probably also use the owner excuse to get out of meetings he doesn't wanna go to. It's brilliant! If he was better at his job he'd sound more prepared, and he sounds like he read a 1-pager during every game. -
Ben Johnson?? Ben Johnson?? LOL
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's my annual reminder that preseason is literally not at all comparable to actual NFL football. When the rookies look good I always remind myself that under the right circumstances, peterman looked good. -
I think this offseason needs to have a real milano plan. He's slated to have a 11M cap hit in 2026 currently in void money. If he's brought back, the void money reduces in 2026 to about 6M, and then there's a little under 5M in 2027. If you can make the cap hit roughly the same 11M or thereabouts without making significant changes to the 2027 numbers, i don't mind bringing him back since its essentially a wash to the salary cap. Having said that, he's going to be in his age 31 season and has played 14 games including playoffs over the last 3 seasons combined (including the 2 games this season). He's not currently under contract for 2026 so he'd have to want to come back at a potentially lesser role for less money. I'd suspect he'd be the ramon humber role of Milano's rookie season, where Humber was hurt and eventually replaced by Milano. Buffalo could also stand to make a WLB investment this offseason as dorian williams is a free agent after 2026, and imo has not done enough to justify an extension beyond a year to year agreement. Finding a rookie contract player who can start is going to be far more affordable against the cap moving forward. A lot of dudes just got paid, so they need some more rookie contract contributors at every level of the roster.
