I liked what the bills did in the most recent playoff game. They only had 273 yards, but managed 20 first downs and actually had greater time of possession. Couple of big turnovers that buffalo turned into points. Last drive before the half was huge - stretch the lead to 11 but also leaving 0 time for the Ravens. Would've liked a better 3rd quarter, and to finish that 4th quarter drive after the Andrews fumble with a score instead of a FG. I think baltimore is a team where you have to have some misdirection plays prepared for in some of those gotta have it situations. The trick play disaster last season shouldn't preclude you from doing this. I'd like to see some of those jet motion plays especially in the red zone - see how they follow.

Buffalo has definitely struggled with mobile QBs. Mahomes always seems to escape, same with lamar. Designed runs less so, but once its broken down it can get messy. Their run game is always going to get them ahead of the sticks in those 2nd and 4, 3rd and 1's that are just really difficult to stop. Explosive pass game.

Gotta make them march - no big plays. Fields has always struggled behind the sticks with turnovers and sacks.

They did a nice job with Fields when they played him in Chicago. It's a tyrod game strategy - keep him in the pocket, attack the mesh point, gap integrity in the run game, and get after the ball.

I'm not sure - when you sign and get a signing bonus possibly? But i doubt this changes his game checks for the season tbh. I know with Von his "pay cut" influenced how much he was fined because that is off of base salary, but I don't think moving cap space does much for actual cash flow in and out.

I'd say a triple option might work? Give yourself an outside pitch. Mix in a jet motion option to see how they adjust. Left to Right jet motion, QB can hand off, or he can sneak left, or he can roll left with a pitch option. Line someone like samuel up in the backfield as a 3rd "back" and you can go either direction. Is something that requires a fair number of rep's vs. a QB sneak though. Biggest gripe i have is going jumbo. It's not as if these plays are getting blown up by players on the edge. If they want to over load the middle with DTs, and bring their LBs to the LOS, why play into that? They're creating space behind them and on the edges for easy alerts.

How about giants over commanders? Both games were close last year.

You now have a more realistic option should one or both miss significant time, or ineffectiveness. Samuel's issue is and continues to be availability, and Moore has never really lived up to his draft spot. He's no longer "2nd round pick" moore, and is now journeyman Moore - its realistically his last chance to revive his career. He's been very quiet, and his mouth has been an issue in the past, so it seems like he's doing the right things off the field. He needs to step up when he's on the field this year.

For all the love daboll got... 1st and 10 from the indianpolis 34 with under 4 to play buffalo ran the ball exactly 0 times and gave the colts the ball back with 2 and a half minutes to go down 3. In fact - buffalo ran the ball 1x in the 4th quarter.

I think this is more of a get him up to speed should someone from the top 6 either go on IR, or have a game or two where a couple players miss.

I think the draft also fell considerably different than many thought. It was a high end class, and a deep class - and none went until 12. Many expected 2-3 off the board within the first 10 picks - and as many as 5 off the board prior to buffalo picking at 22. Reagor over Aiyuk was probably the surprise (and ruggs off the board before jeudy and lamb), but if ruggs/jefferson/lamb/aiyuk/jeudy are all off the board at buffalo's pick we'd have had the pick of reagor/higgins/pittman with a pretty big drop off after that. The potential to miss in this class was there, and acting like it is a no-brainer or that we made the trade on the clock is not a genuine gripe imo.

Neither of Tomlin's SB runs had games against Manning or Brady.

They changed the rules to make passing over the middle easier and FAR safer for one. They call more defensive holding penalties, spread offense concepts have been mixed in considerably more to create easier reads, offensive lines are more athletic to contribute in screen games, QBs are protected WAY more than in the past as well. A lot changed to make the net gain greater and net risk of a pass play far less than it was.

For running backs - they difference between good-great-HOF is.. usually less than a yard per carry. It's very much also tied to the offensive line (So is the QB but it seems less important for their paycheck). I always look at it with running backs at a smaller level. In a single game will his impact be greater than a replacement? Does this guy play his best in the big games, the playoffs, etc? If the answer is yes, pay him market value. If you don't think so, the investment (financial or draft) needs to match what you want in contributions.

He keeps getting sacked 40+ times a year I'm not sure he finishes the year. Lost in his great season last year was the 9 INTs, 11 Fumbles, and 48 sacks vs. 6 INTs, 5 fumbles, and 14 sacks for Allen. With Allen winning last year i do think the voters are looking beyond the volume passing numbers at who produced a better offense, and that players role in that offense. When you have a 1st-team all-pro WR, it can hurt your story as much as a back getting almost 2000 yards. When you can't run the ball you lose games - They were 3-6 in games where they had under 100 rushing yards. I also feel like you need to win your division to be MVP, and i'm not sure i see it with that defense. They also beat a LOT of trash teams last year in a 9-8 season: Carolina, Vegas, NYG, Browns x2, Titans, Cowboys (rush @ QB).

They all got 1 pick - so its not as if they got to rank who they thought would finish 1-2-3. Bo nix felt like a weird choice but who knows i guess.

That ones always funny, as troups career was essentially de-railed by back injuries. And Gronk had fallen in the draft due to back issues.

What beans are there that aren't already in the film though. Cadences, checks, trends, playcalls change year to year.

12 fumbles in 272 touches feels like a lot. Oof - thatll do it. I feel like football would irritate that, no?

If your issues with Hamlin boil down to his athleticism and tackling - those are the same issues an older Poyer has. You'll get him some practice and install time with babich as i'm sure things are different. In case of an injury you have an option that you probably feel more comfortable with than hamlin starting again.

Jackson was bad enough in 2023 to the point that they traded for Douglas. Consistently beaten down field to the point that coverage needed to be shaded to him, and late to the catch point on a number of third down completions beyond the sticks. Just not a very good player, even if he's squeezed out a decent career.

After that awkward landing on that TD against the Jets, he never really looked the same.

Yep - knows the system too, played special teams for us before and can again. Whenever i see other teams giving up wide open TDs it's usually when there's inexperience in the back end.
