  1. The app/website makes it very difficult to watch highlights/videos. Things aren't as readily available as they are on mlb.com/nfl.com etc. It's supposed to be a one stop shop, but i navigate to a game thinking... maybe there will be an extended highlights from the game. Instead its a 45 second recap, and then 5 minutes of people talking about it.
  2. Yeah - and peyton liked him. he's also only 32 - people give pause to giving a guy that young and inexperienced a HC job. Jim Mora JR and McDaniels both flamed out pretty badly so i think that's part of it. If he's a good coach he'll get a chance. Look how long it took Mcdermott.
  3. Lot of praise for working with a guy who was a pro-bowler before cooter joined the organization. And who has coached QBs/called plays for like 3 total years.
  4. I would've been happy with either. I don't think shanahan wanted to come here. Cooter is 32 years old, and probably still getting his feet wet coaching in the NFL.
  5. I just don't get the hype... if this guy was so amazing why wouldn't he be the consensus number 1?
  6. If Williams sucks in camp/preseason there will be other guys available too. Charles claims he's healthy, and when he is he's usually really good. Yeah he's 30, but he'd be part of a committee approach so I don't think it'd be bad if he's willing to sign for very little. If not - then there will be camp cuts, and UDFAs. We also have one of the best starting RBs in the league. And can look at other back-up RBs who won't cost us 4 million this year. And in the 2 games that gillislee was the feature back against the jets, he wasn't very good.
  7. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2016-nfl-draft-closer-look-at-running-back-fumble-rates-ball-security/ His college rate was OK-bad from a fumbling perspective, but he also missed his senior year where he may have seen an improvement (or a regression). It does seem like something he needs to work on though. But by no means do i think he's going to fumble once every 13 carries like last year. A foot injury took his senior season... its also why we were able to draft him where we did. He didn't run at the combine. I don't see him as ever being more than a committee runner though.
  8. This too. I know analytics loved him. but 24 carries for 28 yards in the finale.. Will his 500 yards be replaced by what 425 yards from the replacements who don't cost what he's making? Probably.
  9. We kept our starting qb, and let our backup running back leave on a bad contract.
  10. It's almost like... we drafted the replacement before we lost the player...? Like a competent front office would do.... bizarre.
  11. how many yards would he have rushed for buffalo? 500 again? Maybe? Is the contract worth it if he runs for 500? What about if his replacement runs for 400? 4 million dollars for an extra hundred yards? But no - lets pay him for what he might accomplish with a better rb situation (hes not the defined #2), and with a better team.
  12. You can come right out and say you're not matching. Or you can literally do nothing. And not match because you just didnt' respond. The result is the same.
  13. Well... you literally signed him after he was dropped from a practice squad. You got a season's worth of production out of him, and now you'll get a pick for him in the year that he walks - not waiting on a comp pick. And you aren't overpaying him. I like the guy, and understand why we match if we do. But to say that we HAVE to match is a bit short-sighted. He went from unable to make the 53, to finally getting activated when we had injuries, to replacing karlos after he got fat, to a 5th round pick in return. There are greater tragedies than losing this guy.
  14. Well.. when you can turn a random mid-season practice squad signing into a valuable role player, and then get a pick when he leaves? That is a pretty savvy move honestly.
  15. You don't pay woods if you plan on keeping Watkins. That was high end #2 borderline #1 money. Watkins (assuming he plays well over the next year or two) will want big $$$.
  16. I just don't get it - read the instructions on the detox bottle. It's not that difficult!
  17. I just look at it like this... 1 - African-Americans score worse on the wonderlic. 2 - They have also traditionally scored more poorly on reading/math standardized testing. This test is a reading/math test. Many taking this test got into their universities based on their football prowess, and passable grades at what many would consider inferior academic high schools. Some are essentially going to school to play football, as that is how the NFL is structured. In college they have tutors, ample study time, and they can get alternate arrangements for exams, etc. Oh - and what does this have to do with football? I guess its good to confirm if a guy can read... But it really means nothing.
  18. They had a ton of space - they bought a pick. There's no dead cap for years 3 and 4 so there's a .000001% chance he sticks around there, and even that is only if he's somehow really good. The pick comes with 4 years of control and a cheap contract. My thing with it is - Houston didn't really use the space this year. So are they planning to carry it over for a big 2018 push? Maybe a Clowney extension this summer? We'll see I guess - its a terrible QB room as it stands right now and they used trade-up ammo to dump Brock.
  19. I'd take the extra picks. We have holes and not a lot of picks. Depends on what happens with Gillislee too.
  20. I just mention the cultural bias because its like the first argument everyone makes when speaking out against the test. There's a massive discrepancy between race, and I'm sure if you look into the location a person attended high school/college you might see a similar discrepancy. I see the purpose of the test, but i don't see it as an accurate measurement of what you are trying to accomplish.
  21. I'm not sure I understand your argument
  22. I don't put a lot of stock into it. Maybe with QBs I'd put a little bit? But i'm not dropping someone off my board because they scored 4 points lower or something like that. Also - there's always been the notion of a cultural bias with regards to the test.
  23. He essentially quit on his team when he was justifiably benched. That will turn him off of many of the better coaches/QB situations in the league.
