  1. To cut him or trade him they get a 19.6 mil cap hit. I assume they try and trade him to a team he wants to go to so they get something in return. He'd be under team control with market price cap hits. Their best course would be retirement. They don't have to eat the whole hit I don't think
  2. Hughes has been doing the same crap. Usually in the red zone too. LACK DISCIPLINE!!!
  3. Sure - all they have to do is eat the 24 million signing bonus they already gave him on their salary cap. They just restructured him this past year to push his cap hits back. They're on the hook for 18 million of that in 2018 - without even having him under contract. We also have nothing to offer in a trade that would make them consider doing it.
  4. He kinda lost the baltimore game. We're more in it if they don't give up that bomb to wallace, but that team would not let our run game get going. The Jets didn't either so those were both more games he needed to pitch in for. Jets Fitz had 374 and a TD. 100+ for Forte Miami Ajayi had 214 rushing NE Brady 315 and 4 TDs Seattle 282 and 2 TDs with 2 other ones on the ground. Oak 262 and 2 TDs with 130 and 2 other TDs on the ground. Some bully of a defense... Not to mention it seems like in the 4th quarter we always allow these big drives that just kill us.
  5. I could see Tyrod having some success in Arizona. They're going to have to re-shape that team anyway, lot of free agents. But Arians is Legit.
  6. I just pictured Thad from Blue mountain state. I WANNA TALK TO EVERY REPORTER IN THIS LOCKER ROOM! I HAVE A LOT TO SAY!
  7. The jets one is tough. I know he threw the INT when we were in FG range. But we then let them drive down for like 6 minutes and score 3. Then we got stuffed on 4th (that terrible 2 play sequence is pretty much why they fired GR). Then they scored another TD. Where's the Defensive stop there? 17 points on their last 3 drives of that game. Miami was the same thing. 21 points on 4 drives. The 4th? They started at the 1 and got to our 40 and punted. 0 killer instinct. Worst part is - most of those drives had tons of rushing yards. Its supposed to be our strength, and we got gashed by Forte and Ajayi. Same last week with Murray and Richard. Our "strong" d-line is soft when it counts just like Tyrod.
  8. Pretty much proof that the offense and defense are independent of one another. The offense goes 3 and out, the defense can't blame a TD on the fact that the offense didn't score. They could easily force the opposing team to go 3 and out... we just never do. Tyrod has not been good, but don't put a single bit of the defensive sides struggles on him. He legit has nothing to do with it.
  9. Forte is tough - the 49ers suck but hes in a bit of a time share with powell, and who knows what the game plan will be with petty in. I would be stacking the box if it were me. Cousins has been one of the best qb's in the past few weeks, and philly has been getting torn up lately.
  10. All of this makes sense - but i still go out and try and win this game. If we can take care of business the last 4 weeks, the playoffs aren't likely but are at least possible. Lose this one - and I'm open to whatever. But you may as well move on from Tyrod since you will have shattered any faith you appeared to have in the guy.
  11. Yeah - what do you say to that. He already said he didn't want to talk contract.
  12. He answered all of their questions. They just spin it because he was a dick to them and they didn't like it. He didn't wanna answer their contract related questions. Questions that should be directed at, I dunno the gm? The pegulas? Someone who might actually have the ability to make that decision. I'd have probably answered it as, I'm either here or I'm not here... that's not really up to me. And even then u can spin it as he doesn't care or something.
  13. I mean, his answers don't seem bad on here... http://buffalonews.com/2016/12/07/said-buffalo-bills-transcripts-rex-ryan-tyrod-taylor-five-others-wednesday/ Because he doesn't outright say "I need to be better" he's like their enemy. They all need to be better... he's right in that regard.
  14. When belichek refuses to answer questions it's ok, and kinda funny. on to Baltimore. Etc. but when a player doesn't wanna talk about his contract he's a baby. Guy says he's focused on Pittsburgh, and guess what we have until like march to decide what to do with his contract... i wouldn't be super focused on it either. Also, breaking news! Rodak made another click bait "article"... watching the press conference it was not a big deal, but well say the locker room is falling apart. The worst was when Sammy did a 30 minute interview with Dunn and like 15 seconds of it focused on more targets. Next day rodak writes an article, uses that quote and basically says Sammy is a selfish POS. News these days... all clicks.
  15. Sink or swim time for me. If he sucks... let him suck these last 4 games to make the decision easier.
  16. We restructured clay - there isn't a "figure out a way" to do that. His dead cap would be 13.5 mil, and its 9 million to keep him. If woods probably gets 6 per, britts going to get something like 8.
  17. 44 million in 2 years... how much do you need to lock up your financial future?
  18. For me it wasn't about giving him a raise because we feel we have to, but it was about extending him at a modestly cheap contract before he either crashes and burns (which the out was put in for), or before he leads the team to the playoffs. You have to give him some money in year 1 or whats the incentive to sign?
  19. Well... we are the only team in the league using the turf we use. I've played on it - its strange and spongey. http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/10/01/nfl-stadium-turf-grass-rankings
  20. Yeah - that transition tag in general is pretty strange. You know anyone signing him is going to make it hard for you to match.
  21. All things considered, we can avoid most of the cap charges by avoiding the option bonus. The goal was to have control beyond this year, and not feel inclined to use a franchise tag. In order to get him to sign on the dotted line - we had to throw some dollars his way this year. The dead cap is only 2.8 mil if we release him before the 3rd league day.
  22. Agreed - would def be good for a solid comp pick. Him + woods + gilmore may be a couple 3s or 4s. And considering we don't have a ton of space to sign impact free agents, I'd think we'd want to get all 3 of those picks. Assuming we bottom out next year with still having no QB, limited receivers, and holes on defense, itll be nice to go into the 2018 draft with hopefully a couple of extra picks in those mid rounds. You can trade them now too, so its like having a bit of extra ammo.
