The impact of Shady's contract?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think 1 more year after this we probably keep him. Draft a full replacement and phase him out. -

in 2018 8.95 cap hit to keep him 5.25 cap hit to cut him The out exists... but i dunno if 3.7 mil savings is really worth it with no replacement -
Cutler to the Broadcast Booth with Fox

He's a coach killer, and has the reputation of being a poor locker room guy. Why would you want to bring him in as a backup QB? -
Most frustrating season as of late?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wanted to like Rex. I liked the swagger, some of the annoying cockiness aside, i wanted to be the team that smacked you in the mouth. Only problem - he's a terrible coach. Dick Jauron was just so... ugh. 1 winning season in 9 seasons of HCing. -
Roman had the same problems here that he had in SF. Simple pass plays, no middle of the field, too long to get plays in, no 2 minute offense, too many deep routes, and lots of sacks.

Good article on Bills front office purge
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you can look at efficiency ratings and see that we weren't a terrible offensive unit. YPG has a 14 yard difference between us at 16th and GB at 8th. Those 14 yards per game aren't the difference between a win and a loss. Points per play - buffalo is pretty good there (8th in the NFL). 13th in 3rd down% - not bad all things considered. 3rd in the NFL in giveaways. 7th in RZ TD scoring % --> this could be why we are higher in PPG than YPG in leaguewide rankings -

His first draft seemed to signify that he wants players who care about the organization and winning, not paycheck players who just show up. Also he seemed to target players who have a good history with leadership, as well as avoiding players with red flags. More of a vision than Rex Ryan probably ever had...? -

This is kind of what i see. What did whaley want? Did he want to build around EJ? Or was he stuck with him? Does he want to be a run first team? Or would he like to air it out? He always seemed to be clashing with HC's because he didn't want to put a team together based on their philosophy. But what is his philosophy? I know finding the QB is the most important piece. And he did a really crappy job at it. Even complaining about "QB purgatory" If he wanted to bottom out and get his QB near the top of the draft, he should never have traded up for watkins. Should've probably either traded down or stood pat. And gone for winston/mariota in 2015. Instead we go into that draft with 0 1st rounders and EJ Manuel. -
Mel Kiper grades Bills as top 5 draft

I've never liked a player for any team in any sport, like you like Pat Mahomes. -

I'm on record as saying I hope he sucks... just so you are wrong. :-D -
I have a few dumb reasons for disliking him. 1- My friend was in a box with him when he was GM of the team (least qualified GM of all time probably), and he was gushing over Kerry Collins and the Titans. Gross... 2- Guy wears a Florida Marlins World series ring, from his time... as a marketing assistant. 3- He's worked here for the entirety of the drought and somehow avoided the chopping block, and it seems like every domino around him falls except him. 4- Is a bit of a jerk. A friend worked for the ticket office, and knew Russ at least somewhat. Russ proceeded to snub him, and ignored him and his wife at a social event in honor of... the ticket office! If you want more, i'll ask my buddy for some more inside stories from his time there. He doesn't remember it too fondly. Here's a few real reasons: He sandbagged both lynn and whaleys EOY pressers. He's the Managing partner/President of the team, and is nowhere to be found. Pegula has to do a damage control press conference, because Russ KNOWS that legit every media member, and most fans, hate his guts. Its the NFL man... everyone's making money.

We should trade Sammy
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you were going to trade him, you should have done it before the draft. -
Wow - all of our players are on other people's teams? Cool! Probably because we extended some of the wrong players, and our cap has been hamstrung for 4 years because of it. He should shoulder much of the blame for that. Also - they trade players on expiring deals a fair amount. That gives them extra picks. That gives you more chances to hit. 18 players on the roster vs our 15. From 2012 - Gilmore walks, we MIGHT get a 2018 comp pick - they trade Chandler Jones for a 2016 2nd. Collins would have walked in 2017, giving them a CHANCE for a 2018 comp pick if they weren't active in FA. Instead they traded Collins for a 2017 3rd and were as active as they wanted to be in FA. They also didn't have a first round pick last year, who almost assuredly would be on their roster.

17 members of Bills scouting staff fired.
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I look at it like - theyre going in another direction from Whaley. So Whaleys gone, and all of his scouts go with him. It sucks, but they're restructuring that entire group and will be starting fresh. I don't blame the scouting staff for the situation we are in, nor can I say that individually one of them was better than anyone else. That's on coaching and development - which have been poor for years. -
Tyrod will not be handed starting Job
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's good to emphasize to players that they need to put in the work to justify their contracts. But Tyrod is probably the hardest worker on the team, the most talented QB, and has experience with Dennisons offense and QB room. I think they want Peterman to succeed, and the best way to do that is to park him on the bench. -
