  1. I dunno - why should he? If he walks he'll still get paid pretty handsomely. He'd be the top option on the open market, and is still young. Cousins probably isn't available. Romo requires a trade - so pieces have to move. Brees/Rivers aren't likely to happen. And there are many teams looking for upgrades. SF BUF LAR JAX HOU NYJ DEN CLE ZONA CHI
  2. Great job - now do all the other teams in the league and give me a "real PPG value" so we can compare. Until then this means absolutely nothing.
  3. I feel like we should actually score more in garbage time - but we had playcalls that prohibited us from doing so.
  4. They're losing fewer players than us... but they have to pay some impact guys. Hightower, sheard, long, Bennett, Branch, blount, and ryan are all UFA. Vollmer is probably gone too. Thats 7 starters... I know they like to plug and play --- see trading collins and chandler jones. But I think they'll hang on to at least a few of them. Butler is also a RFA - so not sure how they'll handle that situation.
  5. Woof. Sounds like 3-13.... His teams have won 2 of his last 22 starts. 29 TDs and 22 INTs over that 3 season span.
  6. They've been patching holes since rex year 2. They have some talent at WR, solid yet unspectacular RBs. They just have such an old secondary - and are in need of a pair of new corners.
  7. Sounds more entertaining than the product they put on the field
  8. Most "pundits" have pegged us as a bottom 3rd team for these reasons. We have a tough schedule for next season, and performed terribly within the division. I personally look at Miami and NYJ and don't see them as particularly good teams. Going 0-4 against them is the difference between 7-9/Pick 10, and playoffs. As a fan of the team, I know we have the ability to be better than that bottom 3rd team. There is talent on the team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Rex did not have the team performing up to their capabilities, and it showed. If the Offensive staff feels they can continue to build a solid offense, and the defense can get back to stopping people - there's a chance we can improve. We play a few of our tougher opponents at home (denver, oakland, TB, NO), and its traditionally a tough place to play. If that same staff feels that the offense will be poor under Tyrod, then they'll look to replace him and go full on rebuild.
  9. I believe he'll be getting at least a game for the DUI too. After trotting out Boom herron, boobie dixon, Bryce brown, and tashard choice... I still can't understand when people say RBs are a dime a dozen.
  10. I ignore him.. but its still annoying seeing him hijack every thread.
  11. If you value the depth he provides, you slap a 2nd round tender on him. The RFAs don't inspire me a lot. Id keep Groy and Thomas around. I guess tender Schmidt, but he's not very good. Ola is on his what, 8th team?
  12. They say the rule is if its within 1 yard - but theres also the incredibly subjective (Driving through a defender who has established a position on the field. ) which is the grey area that they do a great job occupying. If i'm moving is that an "established" position? Who knows... its not defined. So they run their routes into defenders (other teams do this stuff too), with the sole purpose of incidentally running into them. It's kind of legal, because the OPI rules are so undefined. I personally hate those plays as its kinda cheap - but it is currently within the rules. Defenses already have like so many disadvantages in coverage, and you're essentially saying if you make it look like you're not blocking - its ok.
  13. Yeah - especially one who is so loaded he's willing to play for half of what he's worth. His cap hit goes up to 22 next year (still probably half of what he's worth). So maybe they'll have to cut some people... Or he'll just take another pay cut. 1/8 on 3rd downs. 3rd and 1 from their territory - pass play, sack fumble. 2nd and 11 with 3:30 left.... NE has two time outs and you're up 8. eating clock and kicking gives you the best chance here. sucks that you put it on your kicker. But even if he MISSES you're in ok shape. because they have no timeouts
  14. I can't see a situation where im throwing it over the middle on 2nd and goal from the 1. Theyre stacking for a run, and they have to maintain contain on a running QB, and you have a good power back. I may not run it there as they only had 1 timeout, but i likely call play action there. Can still stop the clock and run twice if you don't get in.
  15. Throwing it OVER THE MIDDLE there... is a disaster of a call. Any pass play has to be to your tallest receiver on a corner fade. Low percentage of INT, and the clock still stops if that's what you're worrying about. That or you know... use your QBs speed and play action bootleg. He can scramble for the td, hit an open receiver for the td, or just throw it out of bounds if no ones open.
  16. Unfortunately I still see him being annoying since every other post is hidden.
  17. I think the conclusion i came to was that those guys did deflate the balls. And I just think there's no way people are messing with Tom Brady's football's without his say-so. Probably a dumb reason to assume guilt, but that's just my thought process.
  18. Not trying to get into a keep vs cut argument... but we do have some absurdly negative media. Sully? Bucky? Even the guys from rochester? They write nothing positive about the team it seems. Graham kind of does features I guess? But they're like, hung up on when some conversation occurred and whether whaley is lying. Who cares? Write an article about a player, talk about things he could improve on, but maybe also remind us why we're fans of this team. I feel like they're stuck with a loser so they do nothing but tell us they're losers. I cant remember the last time a player had a featured article where a reporter sat down and got to talk to a player. I think the last one was dunne, and all that came from it (a pretty good article) was tweets about how sammys a baby who wants more targets.
  19. 1- needs to get comfortable with a real NFL playbook 2- extra film study 3- reps year round He has to want to be truly great. Haven't had that vibe with cardale yet, maybe a new coaching staff will help encourage him to do what he needs to do to be great.
  20. Going to a friend's for the 5th annual taco bowl. Used to be a cosby sweater party... but changed for obvious reasons. He does taco's and coronas, i'll probably make some wings and bring those.
  21. Yeah - i went to Rodak's twitter though and he didn't tweet it. Since that is his like mouthpiece as he can't write a competent article... I'll take it with a grain of salt. The guy has 0 insider knowledge, and its Feb 2nd. Who knows what the roster decision will be....
  22. He occaisionally has some mechanical breakdowns. Usually its stepping into throws from the pocket, he'll just chuck it from his back foot when he senses pressure. His scrambling throws are typically pretty good though in keeping his feet under his body and such. Has a quicker release than some, can spin it. I don't think he's like.. a mechanical mess or something like that.
  23. With a rookie wage scale in place I think it may be more common now to grab other teams backups. You can sign a backup with upside - and add a player in the draft. You're then set for like 4 years with a low cap hit at QB. Build your roster elsewhere and hopefully in 4 years have your guy to extend. The problem is the bidding war because its such an important position. Brock got way overpaid, and someones going to overpay in picks and money for Garroppolo. I didn't like Brock for 70 and 30 guaranteed. He was too unproven. Same goes for Jimmy G. But a Mike Glennon/Nick Foles/AJ McCarron at a reasonable chase daniel pay grade - 3 years in the 20 millions with sub 10 guaranteed? If we drop Tyrod, that's the route I'd like to go. But I'd also want a QB in the first. Stay away from the Romo's and Jimmy's because their pay would prevent you from really doing what you're trying to do. That sets us up with 2 options at a lower total hit than Tyrod. The only problem is you're not getting a major impact player at 10 (possibly overdrafting a QB there vs. getting a top 5 talent that may have slipped) , and you may get a significant drop off at the most important position on the field.
