Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Tequila

I think if there were a reason to believe it were a problem it would have come up. They do a fine job, and are the top announcing pair on Fox. They aren't closing million dollar business deals over scotch - but guess what? That's still happening too. If you think every bartender, chef/cook is 100% sober you are flat out wrong. In my experience of fine dining, usually around 8-830 beers were out. Bartenders aren't supposed to drink a ton on the job, but in my experience even the best ones do. Hell, TV shows have guests on with beers now because it helps people loosen up a bit for live interviews. Announcing a football game is not a formal type of engagement, a certain level of professionalism is required but at the end of the day they're there to tell you what is happening during a game. They try to impart some of their knowledge of football, but also are there to get excited so that you get excited. It's easier for him to do that when he treats it how you might treat attending a game where you aren't announcing. I have no problem with this, it puts no one in danger in the slightest. -
Mcshay Mock has Najee Harris to Buffalo

I'm good with it... The team needed top end talent to make the jump to division leader. They added diggs. You need to keep reloading to stay at the top. To stay on top you have to keep bringing along depth so when players leave, you have good young players who are chomping at the bit to win a starting job. -

Once you get a for sure salary cap, you'll start seeing players re-work contracts for teams to create cap space. Then you'll have cap casualties... the draft is the only thing where you like know for sure who's even available. But i agree - we don't really know what our needs are until post FA. There arent really any TE's available so i would assume that will be a need. oline/dline depth will get filled out but i know beane is willing to sign players just to replace them later. -
Look at the T/G column here: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nwe/index.htm 3 years outside the top 10. One of those years was 2017 when brady only threw 8 picks, the defense just didn't have a lot of takeaways. He protected the ball insanely well for them. That tends to lead to long fields and makes it easier to prevent the opponent from scoring.

The one short field was on a re-kick shanked punt. Not the refs fault he had a terrible punt on round 2. It works when you break tackles... or when you have effective downfield blocking... Or a design around it. I'm more concerned with our defense TBH. They had no answer other than the game just ending.

4 TDs on 5 drives and 1 was a 70 yarder with a turnover on downs where he threw a TD pass that was dropped. For a stretch there they were able to basically do whatever they wanted and the chiefs had no answer. After that they had the 3rd and 10 drive with a bad snap. After that it was basically a clock game so he didn't really need to do much but kill clock. Even the last 2 incomplete deep balls were imo thrown to try and draw PI. He got some calls that we didn't/wouldnt. I do wonder if like rodgers TDs on Offside plays, if he just has a knack for when to throw balls to draw PI calls.

Would the Bills have beaten the Bucs?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a key in this one was how much better gronk is than knox. More sure handed and a load to tackle. Theyd run that TE out/screen thing we do with knox and gronk got a 1st every time they ran it. -

Run it. They went with 6 DBs against our 11 personnel - Should be able to get some gains there. They doubled digs and bease depending on the situation. I think brown and davis both being banged up prevented them from ever really considering going with a 2 high look against us unless it was 3rd and forever. -
Turning Point in the Game

The 2nd PI was basically the same as the gabe davis one. He was holding when the ball was in the air. -
New TJ yeldon? Hey - at the very least they're worth some money.

Kelce had to swim off the line every single snap. And if he didn't, it was a simulated pressure so there was likely a corner or LB blitzing from somewhere else (they looped some of these LB and corner blitzes inside which i thought created more confusion). David + White are also a really poor matchup for Kelce too - There's nowhere to motion him to get an easier matchup. They tried stacking him behind hill to create more of a free release, but then they were struggling with protection since you didn't have Kelce to chip. Essentially it was light boxes, and better pass rush. But while CEH made some plays - them being in a hole/getting away from the run, and being unable to execute on 3rd down doomed them. Mahomes hurt them in man coverage a few times in the 1st half, but in the 2nd half he was absolutely shellshocked.

Or make them use the timeout they had... which they wouldn't have had later after the fournette completion. Probably a 4 point mistake. -
My off-season plan

I think going into the covid year - you wanted cohesion. They made some changes along the dline, and added a couple pieces on oline - but you didn't want to make these sweeping wholesale changes across the team. -
A complete offense matters

In this economy? 8 would be high to me. Gordon got 2yr 16 last year (with a higher cap), after almost 1000 yards and 10 TDs the previous year. I'd guess maybe 6. Either way, possibly still too rich.
