  1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Hill_(American_football) Thats why... Both had crazy good workouts, and not a ton of field production. But him being the 9th one selected is still a bit shocking tho.
  2. I've been doing non 5's/0's even numbers on things lately. microwave something for 30 seconds? Why not 33?
  3. Have to agree. 6 DTs in the first Williams Oliver Wilkins Lawrence Tillery Simmons I don't think any of those players is even head and shoulders above the rest. Williams flashed some pass rush, lawrence has probably been most consistent, and Simmons has flashed some as well. But people also forget that oliver flashed quite a bit too. Also, Haskins has biggest bust locked up in that draft. LJ Collier Gary and Ferrell have also done little as pass rushers through 2 years. Ugh. I hate taylor hall. The one thing i thought for sure he had was hands. WTH happened to him?
  4. If they did win, i'd also say johnson did enough to not start the next game.
  5. Regarding Johnson... I just couldn't get behind it. It was a tremendously poor first half, and I still can't believe he came out to start the 2nd half. Worst offensive output of the season yardage wise. Meddling owner cost the team a shot at a super bowl.
  6. I know he "did enough to win", and there were some questionable calls (kicking on 1st down with 20 seconds left - I know we had no timeouts... get a little creative and you can kick that as time expires - if there's 1-5 seconds on the clock kick it out of bounds and defend a hail mary). But it was a terrible game - 10/22 for 131, took 6 sacks and fumbled twice (lost one and the other was a safety). Sacked on more than 20% of drop backs, completed less than 50% of passes. His inability to evade pressure kept them behind the sticks all game. They had 46 yards at halftime, and 28 of them were rushing yards from the backs. So his 18 pass plays generated 18 yards. I don't even know how he came out and started the 2nd half.
  7. Yeah, i tried to like rex ryan too. Woops.
  8. Having the best TE in football certainly helps. I'm not sure williams and feliciano are good enough at it though. Morse is athletic enough, and i think he was somewhat of an asset in the run game in 2019, so not sure what killed him in 2020. You don't need RB speed to execute an outside zone rushing attack, you do to bust out big runs i suppose, but arian foster ran for like 6000 yards and was like a 4.7 guy. Yep - Williams too. He can anchor solidly on the right, but backside backers slip right by him and blow up runs constantly.
  9. Rj was an unmatched sack taking machine. In 98 he had an absurd 21.3% sack rate in like 5 games. His other 2 seasons starting, he was comfortably around 13-14. Tyrod would take them too, but no one could get sacked quite like rob Johnson.
  10. I voted no, but i could honestly care less. I don't even know whos up there anymore.
  11. EJ Manuel. I thought he was going to be a solid starter.
  12. At tight end I didn't carry 4 because of PS and Gilliam playing teams. At lb I could see keeping smith and dropping a corner to PS. Depends how much they like Obada, and whether 9 is enough on the line with position flex.
  13. Yeah, i could see jones being dropped for him. Especially with the late round DBs that probably play special teams. If they do the PS call-ups again you can just carry a back on there all year and plug them in should you have injuries. Could also see a dlineman dropped for a free agent TE on this roster projection. 3 just seems like too few, even with 1 or 2 on the PS. If they add a corner then wildgoose may head to the PS as well.
  14. I know bates wants to play center. Assuming the 5 of Dawkins-Mongo-Morse-Ford-Williams - that leaves 4-5 spots for Brown, Doyle, Lamp, Douglas, Boettger, Bates, Hart, and Anderson. I'd assume hart is gone if they drafted 2 OT's. Lamp seems like a good bet for a backup guard. Bates can play center which no one else can. So brown and doyle are backup tackles - extra linemen in short yardage. One is inactive on gameday Lamp is backup guard on gameday. Bates is backup center on gamedays. That leaves maybe 1 spot for douglas, boettger, hart, and anderson. Anderson probably heads to the PS. My guess would be douglas or boettger.
  15. This is what i came up with. A little thin at TE, but Sweeney just missed a season and i don't see why i'd need to bring him back. I could see them bringing in another vet there. Kept jones unless a wildgoose or hamlin can replace him. In which case that gives you a spot at TE or WR for a stevenson type.
  16. While I'll agree his content isn't as quality, i do think the guy watches a ton of film on players, and isn't afraid to be wrong. Someone praised him about the picks in 2018, but he was quick to remind them of his Jimmy Clausen pick. I respect it
  17. All you can grade now is based off of big boards. If you felt like you got players off the board who help immediately, or were largely valued more than where you picked - i guess you consider that a win.
  18. I just think there is definitely some improvement to be had there. I'm not totally set on clowney as an upgrade over vernon either. They did well to grab a couple of rookies who can probably contribute right away though, and the offense should be better with beckham. If they can't overtake baltimore though, the roads a bit tougher to start the playoffs on the road.
  19. I think my concern with crowning the browns is that they went 2-3 against pitt and baltimore, and the 1 win was against rudolph and the other had a bit of a flukey start to give them some really good field position and points. Good (not great) offense (14th in points, 16th in yards), but a great rushing attack. Defense was 21st in points and 17th in yards - they drafted here and added clowney so there's definitely some room to improve a bit. 2-0 against cincy 4-0 against the NFCE L to the jets L to the raiders The biggest win on their schedule was probably Tennessee, but they also beat Indy. 7-2 in 1 score games. Their offense is probably good for them to win some of these, as mayfield cut down on turnovers and they play more ball control. But these were 1 score games that included Cincyx2, Houston, Philly, jax, the jete, and steelers backups week 17. I think they can push for the division lead here, but any of baltimore/pitt/cleveland can win that division. NFCE vs NFCN is a big difference, and they play the AFCW - plus NE and Houston.
  20. They don't. Teams with fewer picks were dinged with the bottom 3 being the rams, seattle, and houston. Also ignored is the fact that chicago lost a 1st round pick to acquire the player that is giving them such a high mark. So...
  21. I think with limiting what you can bring to rookie minicamps, it may have been somewhat beneficial to add a round or 2 to the end of the draft. Randomize the order of the rounds, and no trades. Just so teams can grab a couple of extra bodies.
  22. I think the scheme wasn't as good a fit for singletary. He's going to need reps to get better on the outside zone stuff if that's what buffalo is trying to run. But generally the offensive line isn't good at it so I'm not sure why we ran it so much. Breida is an interesting case - he's always a change of pace guy as he's somewhat undersized, but he brings some speed to the position. I won't fully ignore miami's failure to utilize him at all, but they have a pretty poor offensive line. He also had 2 fumbles in under 70 touches - which tends to put you in the dog house.
  23. I hope between the new tackle (for tackle eligible plays), and some increased competition at guard/center (lamp, douglas, healthy ford) that there is a better plan for short yardage than QB sweeps. They don't work that well and allen tends to have ball security issues on designed runs more than QB scrambles. Running the ball more effectively in general is important, and its clear that they struggle to get into a rhythm when they are in a pass heavy game. While some of the linemen offer superior pass protection skills, its clearly not been a major upgrade in the run game. Williams, Boettger, Morse all were not good enough as run blockers and it was usually backside players who were blowing up runs to the opposite side. Same goes with the tight ends - they need to get those backside ends and linebackers slowed down enough so that they can't come in and break up zone rushes. Its the big difference between a loss/no gain, and 5 plus. Moss is built well for a zone rushing attack as he has the juice to turn 3 into 5, and he's a solid 1 cut runner with enough speed. Singletary seems more likely a better fit for a power style of attack where he's more heads up into tacklers and can dance a bit more. Morse and the guards in 2019 had some solid execution on these plays with singletary as its a bit more of a block your man situation - pulling players know who to block etc.
  24. Playing time is earned not given. To me Johnson has long odds. Obada isn't guaranteed anything, could be a trade candidate since he was cheap. Addison restructured, is clearly a team guy. But if he's hitting the wall, he doesn't need to be hitting it here. One of those 3 makes the 53, and probably is inactive as the season goes on.
