  1. Wasn't that Jim Plunkett, too? Sucked for the Niners and was great for the Raiders?
  2. Carson Palmer is a good player- but for 2 1st rounders? You have gotta be kidding me.
  3. Wow, so the guys on Monday Night Countdown- Mike Ditka, Chris Carter, Boomer...They're all saying that obviously the Cowboys don't know how to play NE. But Carter made the point that they don't know how to play late games, because you don't run the ball and put it in your D's hands in today's NFL, you go aggressive and throw the ball to put the game out of reach. Gee...Why can't anyone else see this?
  4. half of my team is injured. He was the bottom of my WR depth. ... :wallbash:
  5. Or if we had thrown the ball to a wide open receiver we could have scored a TD, and it would have been a win.
  6. Why do people think that trading players is simple. "Oh yeah, let's just go offer the Pats a first and second-rounders for Brady and he'll just walk on over!" I mean, it just doesn't work that way. It's like the Fitz thing where we "need" a franchise guy. But you don't just get franchise QBs once you decide you want to go out and spend money- they aren't available. Just because we know we need a WR or a DE or a OLB doesn't mean we can just go on out there and tell everyone that now that we're ok with spending money and draft-picks and players (as if we weren't before), we'll just help ourselves to one of their pro-bowlers.
  7. No, the play-calling is horrible because now that we score so many points we need to score EVERY SINGLE TIME and we have to run the ball NO MATTER WHAT. Passing is always a bad idea even if you run a spread offense. I think it needs to be understood that playcalling should be safer and more conservative when the game is on the line and you need to hope that you can get one more yard when you need it, because it's hard to win in the NFL...
  8. I was so angry about this final score. It was my consolation for the Bills game- "at least we're still on top of the division." Heck, I was already thinking, "Hey, if we won this game, we could of been a game ahead in the division." But, back to your point, it obviously didn't work out well. The Cowboys' offense has really been underwhelming, and one of the reasons for that is their recent fear of putting the game in Romo's hands because of his blunders of late.
  9. I don't think anyone has complained about this...
  10. I fully agree with you- but I'm highly disappointed because we put SO much into this defense in the off-season and see no improvements. On the other hand, our new talent really does come up with good plays, so perhaps George Edwards truly is horrible. Again, I'm not looking forward to two straight years of defensive improvement. Unless the offensive talent level magically rises (not saying they aren't good, but could use improvement, or at least enough investment to keep them together), that's a poor rebuild.
  11. Rather have that aggressive identity/mentality- it's proven to win games for a lot of teams.
  12. You're so on-point today. You're like the opposite of Fitzpatrick.
  13. I agree with his post entirely. We haven't reached our ceiling, and Fitz hasn't reached his. You can't tell me he's incapable of shoring up those long balls. Additionally, if the D tightens up a bit and gets healthy, and Fitz fixes MINOR mistakes, then this team will make the playoffs, and they will be tough to beat. I also agree with PTR though, because I think that just about every game, no matter how many points we score, we only win because we score a lot. It's always by 3-7 points.
  14. I remember sort of hoping we'd run because I could see Fitz throwing a pick. But then I remembered we were running the ball horribly (after the 80 yard run), and that a FG wouldn't be enough to win with our D. I then determined I'd rather see us attack and get that score to put it on their O to score a TD (which they weren't able to do). So, the call was a fade into the endzone to a wide open Stevie. It's all Fitz here. Fitz, just like any other NFL QB, needs to, and SHOULD make that pass 100% of the time. ...You'd think he had learned after the first one (obviously, Gailey thought he had).
  15. It's also worth noting that a collapse (say, 8-8?) would still have us farther ahead than last year, meaning there was a year-to-year improvement since Chan came in.
  16. ...That catch by Lloyd on the sidelines was perfectly placed- where only he could get it.
  17. Yes, Jackson is taller. Yet, unlike most taller running backs, he runs small.
  18. Doesn't he look kind of like Thurman? I mean, I'm not trying to start anything here. I legitimately think, when I watch his posture while he runs, the way he moves his hips, and holds the ball, and the way he finds the holes, he looks like Thomas. Granted- not half as fast.
  19. Kinda hot, and yet, kinda looks like she could beat me up.
  20. Heh- there are 2 other companies- Cox and Comcast. But, despite not having NFLN, TimeWarner is head and shoulders above the other two.
  21. He certainly is tough to take down once he's got the ball.
