  1. I hear what you're saying but it's a different time now. Players were going there and playing for huge discounts just to join that organization - so they were still stacked. That's over. And it's easier to get guys pumped up for one year vs hey this is what we are now - a team without a QB.
  2. He should be compared to a company that does billions of dollars in sales.
  3. Our fan base can be awfully coo coo at times (including me). We get a tip tier WR in his prime that does multiple things - essential for the growth of young QB and there's some fans that would rather take a flyer on a rookie. It's just crazy talk.
  4. And they're notorious for being irresponsible with it - that trend is continuing.
  5. What happens if we sign Quinn or Griffen then still draft one of the "million" receivers this year? Brown is here 2 more years and the room steps in. This is how offenses sustain themselves. You get, then build behind it. It's not a stop start thing.
  6. Heard a stat today that when Cooper is off the field Dak's percentage is 54-58% with him it's 68%. It's critical to give a young QB viable WR's. I believe Allen now has the legitimate help he needs and will show huge improvement.
  7. If you don't like the compensation then you just do not understand how difficult it is to find wide receivers like him.
  8. What's your take on we wouldn't be involved in something like this? Can Johnson really be the reason the Texans did this? Reports are saying this has been worked on for about a week.
  9. I guess they didn't love him enough to give him 10 mil/per even though "he's perfect for them". Pretty crazy for such an inexpensive contract from their perspective. Or maybe they agree with me.
  10. Gore isn't ours to trade. I would have given them Devon and remove the 4th in less than a second to get Hopkins. You didn't, I used that word. That kind of conservatism would most definitely be dumb, IMO. There has to be something else here for this to make sense and I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it being Johnson as the factor.
  11. We'll never know but I find it hard to believe Beane and every other GM with a WR need and cap could be that dumb.
  12. Why does a system exploiting big DE's make him a perfect fit as a big DE? I was thinking less about system and more of McDermott as a coach. I think he gets the best out of players. We're not exactly a star studded defense - yet we're one of the best in the league. Lawson being in our division doesn't bother me in the least.
  13. I'm of the opinion that if you want to develop a young QB, it's critical to get him excellent receiving help. The Cards did that. Then as the QB develops he can do more with less. WR is the most difficult position to fill with top end talent outside of QB. We must land one of these WR's and also draft one.
  14. I can't believe that this trade got shopped around by the Texans and a team like Buffalo wouldn't beat it. It has to be that he would not trade him to the AFC. I must force myself to believe this.
  15. Shaq played well because McDermott is one of the leagues best defensive coaches. Shaq, IMO, will not be heard of much with the Phins.
  16. Oh my goodness this is the worst trade for the Texans in my memory.
  17. Obviously if you think he's the 7th best QB in the NFL - then he's worth the money. He's always had decent stats, I don't think that's the issue at all.
  18. Also not the point. This isn't about his ranking - it's just the indicator. I'm also not blaming the players. The players ability isn't congruent with the rise in QB salaries can only make it that much more challenging to build the rest of the roster.
  19. I don't think that's really the point. It's he's not the 7th best QB in the league but you have to pay him as such. It's outrageous what these QB's are making and it's very difficult to build a team when you're paying a decent QB - elite money.
  20. https://www.nflpenalties.com/position/tight-end?year=2019
  21. Yes but he only has one ear.
  22. I'd rather have Mr. Potato Head than Lee Smith.
