  1. SJBF I didn't think you were being heated at all, you're just an obviously passionate fan that loves Jackson. An honest debate is all we're having. But I'll submit we agree more than disagree on the entire topic. I'll also say you've said a mouthful about several topics in your response, some of which I think are unrelated. First off you've picked a good one to be your favorite player. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think he's the best decision making RB the Bills have ever had. Second make no mistake about one thing. Buddy Nix is running this organization. Since Buddy Nix took over (remember just one full off season and one shortened one), finances haven't been an issue in regards to Buddy's ability to make this team better. And he's done a spectacular job. Just one example is Middle LB. Could you imagine if we signed Dansby or Poz for 8+ million and didn't have Barnett? And what the implications of having a contract like that on our hands would handcuff this team? So far Buddy has been true to his word. He said they will keep the good players already on this team, won't overpay for FA's, and will develop through the draft. Freddie, Fitz, and Johnson will be taken care of and shored up long term. Now back to the timing issue. This is where you and I disagree. Obviously for me it's a bigger issue. First off I don't think Nix gives a damn that he went public with his annoyance, so in that regard it's not going to help him one bit. Fred isn't getting a new contract during the season, so I guess he'll have to live with the 14 additional games added to his career life. So for me Good Soldier - Bad Soldier doesn't matter in respect to getting the contract. I just merely stated he didn't act like a "Good Soldier". Teams always want the new contract to take effect the following year. He's a captain and I don't think he acted like one. Would you be ok if Fitz did the same thing? He's in a similar situation. I'd be appalled.
  2. You're not listening. I think Jackson deserves more money. I also think there's a time to be vocal about your displeasure, ie the off season/start of camp. It isn't anyone's fault there wasn't an off season for litle Freddie to get more money. I was responding especially to the "good soldier" comment. I think his timing is incredibly selfish and foolish. The team starts off 2-0 and has arguably it's most important game in 10 years coming up this weekend at home and we have to hear about little Freddy being annoyed by his contract? You keep bringing up Kelsay which clearly tells me we aren't talking apples to apples. I'm not arguing the validity of Fred's deserving of of more money. But I don't remember Kelsay telling us how annoyed he was by his contract. If anything you're making my point. If Kelsay can get more money why wouldn't Fred? Hey Fred, shut up and play.
  3. Shut your potty mouth. Don't put words in my mouth and insunuate you know my thoughs by what I typed. I just want him to shut up and play period. No "good soldier" complains about not getting the start in preseason and then when the team is 2-0 starts complaining about his contract. I think he's worth more money, I think NFL contracts are one sided in favor of the teams, and I still think he needs to shut up. He's a 30 year old running back with 25 year old tread on him. I'm annoyed he's acting like a 25 year old when he's 30. He's quoted as saying he's not letting the off field stuff effect what he needs to do on the field. Well guess what Jackson, you're distracting me from enjoying a 2-0 start. Shut up and play.
  4. I'm getting a little annoyed at hearing how annoyed Fred is all the time. Seriously! Shut your mouth and play.
  5. DIRECTV had trouble this past week communicating with any Android phone. But you can watch the games online with the $9.99 package. In saying that the games are automatically taped, so for example you can click play now on any particular game and you watch it from the start. It's not like it's watch it live online or you lose footage. You can watch it at 8PM from the start.
  6. I'm curious to know how you were able to say this so definitively after one game? I too agree that Lee did this for us, but I found it very difficult to verify because of how an NFL game is shown. The opportunity to see this on television was far and few between because I couldn't see the whole field. I had to watch dozens of Bills games only to be able to verify what I thought a few times.
  7. He's going to feel so foolish riding away in that thing after the trouncing.
  8. Calm down you're the one that can't climax on Christmas Eve.
  9. We won because ...... I did'nt believe the idiots that said we were doomed when we didn't sign Tyson Clabo and Zack Miller.
  10. Sapp seems like a cool guy to hang out with (happy go lucky) but he's awful as an analyst. Dukes is even worse when you mix in his attitude about his commentary. In my opinion the NFL network has a long list of clowns on that network and it's nearly unwatchable.
  11. I'd be disappointed too if I thought Christmas was about getting presents.
  12. The funniest thing is people keep making lists and they by in large have the same players on them. Why are you doing this?
  13. At least we have Russ Salvatore.
  14. What a great point you've made Mr. Negative.
  15. "See" what? You have no proof to make this statement. Speculation at it's worst.
  16. This isn't about blame. This is about what will make our poor o line look better than it really is, and the things that will do that is good play calling and QB execution. Yes, our offense cannot rely on good line play to work. So what are you suggesting we call a game like Jauron's regime and just continue to watch our QB get killed so we can blame our line? Would that make you feel better?
  17. I am "the writer". Of course I would prefer any every down player over Spiller IN HINDSIGHT. The Bills should have experts like you working for them. "Hey guys I have a list of players we should have drafted, but not in hindsight." You should go to the Eagles, Rams, Bears, Cardinals, and Bengals sites and tell them they should have drafted Kyle Williams before they drafted their 2006 DT's.
  18. I'll address that two ways and both are no to your question. I just don't get the theory of we should have drafted a guy that went 23rd with the 9th pick. You could say that about every pick after yours in every round for every draft pick that doesn't work out. Plus you want us to draft a right tackle with the 9th overall pick? He went where a right tackle should go. Let's get another thing straight, Bulaga isn't that good. And even if he is how would you know, do you watch every Packer game and concentrate on the right side of the offensive line? Lastly, let's wait a bit longer before we judge Spiller. Good Lord he was a rookie last year with two starting RB's already on the team. The line couldn't block for Jackson and Lynch let alone a fledgling rookie trying to learn an NFL offense, learn blocking assignments, and basically learn how to run like an NFL back. People forget that it takes time for guys like Spiller that ran free and could get away with stoping and starting in College because their overwhelming talent allowed them to.
  19. [ I don't think we drafted outside of o lineman because it's easier. I just think our defense was such a sieve that was the priority. It's nearly impossible to fix both lines in one full off season and a shortened one. They did a heck of a job with the defense and the offense line was attempted in free agency but it didn't work out. Nix and Gailey aren't stupid, it's obvious they know the o line is their weakest point. And my point is for this year they are tailoring the attack knowing the line is weak.
  20. ..... excellent QB play and great play calling. This line will look as good as Fitzpatrick plays and Chan's game plan. I think there's more than one way to make an offense work despite having a good offensive line. I for one am optimistic Chan and Fitz can get it done, and I'm not just talking blind faith fandom. I think our offense is set up for quick decisions in the passing game and we have a running back in Fred Jackson that seems to always make the right first decision. Our offensive line isn't good enough for a back like Spiller to succeed, he needs space. Our line isn't good enough for a medium to deep passing game, hence it doesn't fit well for a guy like Evans. We need good route runners, sure handed, tough receivers. The biggest question mark I have for our offense to succeed is our receiving core not the line. Our offense is going to be about quick routes, balanced play calling, gadget stuff (wildcat), and a QB unafraid to throw in tight windows. If we execute properly the line will look a lot better than it actually is.
  21. It's funny we agree on that he could come right in and play. I watched the last game 3 times and watched specifically the o-line the second and third time. I think he's much more ready in the pass game. Obviously you saw something different.
  22. Absolutely not. Significant money going forward will and should be spent on the OL.
