    Benjamin is a FA next year so he doesn't effect 2019 unless we want him to. Why not just use the 63 million (Sal C this weekend said almost 100M) in 2019 on 2019? Stop worrying so much. If you follow the bread crumbs it's pretty clear what Beane's plan is and he's executing it.

    You know you make a sound point, it would be better to not draft one so we make the playoffs each of the next three years without drafting a QB.

    I couldn't disagree more. A bunch of picks and White is not a good scenario. If we get Allen - while you may like it - at least you'll know that's who they wanted and they got him, let's roll with our new QB. Allen and giving up picks isn't the worst scenario by a country mile.

    3 straight great years, Romo gets hurt (so does he) and replaced with Cassel. Then they have a Tyrod type QB the next two years- and Dez Bryant suddenly sucks? I don't think so.

    Exactly right. Then he goes on to elaborate what the teams are saying. So is he suggesting that we think they gave him their 1-4 in order, then a breakdown of what they like and don't like? This is some BS fluff piece that is easy to lie about because it can't be proven he lied.

    You don't see any reason? I mean it's possible but there's reasons he could go before 12. Even if you're scenario holds true perfectly there's the dolphins and trade up possibilities.

    I can imagine a scenario where McDermott working with a GM he had to know was gone the moment the draft was over - had a difficult time making such a critical decision with that situation in place. It's rumored we were interested in Trubisky but I think McDermott probably felt this needs to be a team decision and opted to trade the pick.

    I just think it's way to early to say this after 7 games. I believe after year three is when you can look at hindsight.

    It's definitely close. I don't think Mahomes the prospect is as good as Darnold or Rosen but he's, IMO, at the Allen and Mayfield level. Some question marks as they have but physically as talented. Again, as a prospect he's a tick ahead of Rudolph and Jackson.

    So you'd like more choices at rounds where the percentage of them being a good player substantially goes down? Then you profess we'll definitely get an OT, G, LB, WR, CB and starting QB? In case you're still wondering, this post is pretty absurd.

    What if Beane decimated the offensive line so that McDermott's defense would not be good enough to overcome - so he could fire McDermott?

    I love the idea of going for singles and doubles - then leave them stranded. Great way to win games.

    Whaley had a plan. I think what you're seeing is the GM and head coach on the same page and getting along. That, to me, is the difference. Whaley seemed to always be at odds with the coaching staff.

    Based on history there will be a guy drafted after the first 4 that will be better than a couple of them. I think Rudolph is the type of QB that has a chance.

    He's a good sized guy next to Rodgers. Strong legs. I agree he could gain some upper body strength but that could come.
