  1. You in other words did say he's not a miss and it's probable that us "know-nothings pissing on the guy will suddenly fall silent and melt back under their bridges" once he's on another team. I'm not trying to disrespect you but if you think Shaq can in any stretch of the definition be called a disruptor - then I'm afraid our conversation can't continue. I also vehemently disagree that a DE can be called that without pressuring the QB. It is the most important thing they can do - even greater than sack totals. It's ok to be disappointed in Shaq, Murphy and the FO for the Murphy signing. I am. Look, he's done some things and he has gotten better. However he's burned up his value years and wasn't given a 5th year option because of it. I'm with the FO, that we need more, we have the money to get more and will.
  2. Do you not see that these kind of statements are equally "stupid at this point"? The guy was a miss and just improving isn't enough. I'm not saying hate the guy and wish bad things on him - but strictly as a football matter - he's a massive disappointment. I'd like to have a rational football discussion with you as someone who is in opposition to you on Shaq as a player. Value is a huge factor in winning. It's critical that some players perform at a much higher level than their pay. For example Tre White. He's been a shut down corner and it's allowed us to allocate resources to other positions. When we have to pay him - then you no longer benefit from him being good because you're paying him to be. The best he can do is equal his pay and due to injuries and other things - this rarely happens when players are at the top of their pay scale. It's for this reason that you need players like Shaq to perform and when they don't it sets your team back. He's not going to be someone we cry about and regret because if he does get the 6 million a year - even if he gets better and better, he's no longer value for the play.
  3. I think Allen's rushing yards and our run game are two entirely different things. To lump them together, IMO, isn't an indication of why Allen lead the team nor why we had such a poor rushing attack.
  4. This is a brilliant plan by Beane. For the record I was on board when we traded for McCoy and have been happy he's on our team. I know he went through a lot of personal stuff last year and I know our OL was terrible - but he, IMO, wasn't giving maximum effort. Shady has been a great player in this league and is prideful. What a great way to create competition for him by bringing in a friend. They'll push each other without Shady getting offended because that's his buddy.
  5. The media is a total mess. Why do they constantly feel the need to be predictors? Report when he signs or if you know he is going to.
  6. We know you have to beat your drum.
  7. I must not be making myself clear. I agree and admitted what we think has little effect on a players performance - except as you mention possibly a player feeling pressure because fans voices are out there at a new level today for a player to hear about. This is for the sake of discussion and it's more for fans that want to cling on to these players and make them into something they're not. It's absolutely not a negative to have Lawson play this year. It's also ok to say that his performance last year - although better - just isn't good enough.
  8. I think we do as fans and I do think some previous regimes have - obviously not all. I just think we're too accepting of underachievement - sometimes. I mean there were a significant amount of fans that wanted to give Shaq the 5th year option at nearly 10 mil. There's fans comparing Zay to Moulds. I get it, expectations from fans doesn't have any effect on how the player performs - but I do think we need to get more used to not hanging onto hope in examples like this. However I do think our FO and coach have higher expectations then we're used to - and if a player doesn't perform we move on.
  9. You think a good rotational DE is all you want from a first round pick? Case in point!
  10. Why is our bar so low sometimes?
  11. Of course it's my projection. You didn't really think I believe I can see the future, did you? I mean I could try to be more clear for you but I kind of thought that part was implied because, you know, no one can tell the future. Some WR's take huge steps at this time, yes - most don't. Eric Moulds is your only Bills example not just a good one.
  12. I haven't written him off but I'll follow the lead of the FO. He still has a chance but he isn't going to be relied upon to lead the WR group.
  13. Josh Allen made him look a little more competent last year. I'm not saying it's time to move on from Zay but it's time to move on from believing he's going to turn into anything special. He's a complimentary guy and he'll play a few more seasons in the NFL then be an afterthought.
  14. "I don't like him - he's a middle of the first round kind of guy." Um, you don't like a guy that's the 15th to 25th best college player in the country? If you don't like a guy, he shouldn't be on your board.
  15. I guess I just don't understand the point of these predictions. I know, it's the off season, but there's plenty to legitimately talk about.
  16. What I think would be interesting is to see what the trends are with the CB market. We all remember when tall receivers started becoming all the rage and that was because they were all such a mismatch for smaller corners. Then corners started getting taller and then the trend to smaller WR's became the successful ones. I'm not sure where we are at now with the numbers - but I think I'd try to stay in the opposite trend of CB's.
  17. This is exactly what I mean. These broad strokes. When I have some time I'll look up some footage (if I can provide) and stats if there's one single QB drafted high that missed as many on his pro day, combine and rookie season. I'll guess that there was at least one. Did you see the "technique flaw" on the incomplete passes or some of the completions as well? Thanks.
  18. Sometimes I have time to elaborate and sometimes I don't. In either case it's nauseating to keep hearing the same baseless regurgitation of the same opinions. It's not uncommon for a rookie QB to be miss the short "gimme" throws. This is largely due to the speed of the game and their inability to slow down - because of their inexperience. If we are uneducated enough to believe it's because his left toe is pointed in the wrong direction - then you'll enjoy these type of articles.
  19. Worrying about perfect footwork is for those QB's that don't have natural ability. If you don't have the natural talent - then you better be perfect fundamentally. I largely think it's played buzzword. Most don't know what it actually means - so it's an easy word to say and not get called out. I get working on fundamentals but that's not where I want the bulk of Allen's time spent. I want him to spend loads of time studying film and reading defenses. That is the #1 thing for a young QB to do. This accuracy because of footwork thing - IMO - is total BS. The better you read defenses the more comfortable you get and deliver the ball properly. This league should be very nervous if he does master reading defenses. That with better players and this kid is going to sky rocket. Don't believe the other BS like this article fellow fans.
  20. I can't wait to find out who the NFL Network has as the 77th best player of 2018.
