Recovering: Who is most important to Bills success this season?
ganesh replied to CSBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kyle Williams - Center of that DL and can create havoc together with Dareus and Williams. When he was on the field, our line was getting tremendous push and also able to stop the run against some very good RBs. Eric Wood - He was the lynchpin to that Offense at the beginning of the season. When he went down, the offense went down. The health of these two guys are key to this season. As they say, it always starts from the trenches. -
Kyle Williams on Sirius NFL radio yesterday

Ah...Where is the Wonderlic reference when you need it..... -
We would have to re-sign Byrd or Levitre this season as we cannot apply the Franchise Tag on both of them. If this OL gels at the beginning of this season, I think Levitre hits the jackpot. On the other hand Byrd could be signed for a lot cheaper than Levitre now. I think Wood has 2 years remaining in his contract and will be up next year and so would Urbik.

Bills Still Looking to Bring in Players??
ganesh replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Giants, in spite of two close wins in SBs, have showed how to beat Tom Brady and the Pats. Heck, even we saw a glimpse from our own team as to how to make Brady lose..You apply pressure and get him to make mistakes. If our front four truly can dominate the LOS, we will have a helluva team this season. -
Espn afc east dream/nightmare case scenarios
ganesh replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They play in a division with 3 weak teams and the AFC East gets to play a weak division in the NFC West this year. That will get you a weak SOS for the season. -

Has Dalton reached his maximum potential?
ganesh replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
or us playing horribly in the 4th quarter. Give credit to where it is due. They beat us. Plain and Simple! -
Fitz, Jackson and Stevie were never given a chance during the Jauron regime. Stevie posted back-to-back 1000 yard season only after Gailey ran the offense. Fitz got his chance only with Gailey (who also goofed by giving Edwards the Starting job). The OL was so bad, that Jauron and Co had to make automatic choices to plug holes in the line. In fact, Jauron erred pretty badly by moving Wood from Center (in College) to Guard (in the NFL). When Wood finally played Center, he showed that he can be a dominating Center that can protect the pocket for the QB. Jauron should get minimal to no credit for any of these players development.

Will we run more and pass less than last year?
ganesh replied to Thurmal34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with our improved defense, we should be a Run..Run...and more Run team. We have to load up and force the other teams to stop our run. I still can't trust Fitz with this team. He just makes too many mistakes. -
Interesting article on 3rd round and below $$$

Every professional Job requires new employees to develop in their organization before giving them the big raises and bonus and stock options. The NFL should be no different. If an employee hired by Microsoft is fired after two years because he was not doing his job, do you expect Microsoft to have paid the Maximum for the employee for the 1st two years ? Considering the type of money thrown to rookies prior to this CBA was just asnine...and was blocking from teams giving the people who have really excelled the kind of deals they need to be given. The only weakness of the CBA would be that the teams should not have been given 4 years of exclusive rights to these players. It should have been 2 years and a 1 year of restricted right (at least for the 3rd to 7th round players). That gives these players some upper hand if they have beaten the rookie contract. Isn't that what a company like google or Microsoft would do. -
The CBs also can rank higher if the defense has a pass rush.

I see the Steelers taking the division. They just reloaded..

I just think that GB made the mistake of not trading Flynn the previous season. Sometimes, things just don't fall your way....Brees was let go as a FA by San Diego because of injury.

Bills' 10 best quarterbacks vs. Miami's 10 best

And he sucked with the Expansion Panthers -
Why doesn't the NFL make it a home-game for the Bills in alternate years...That way the Bills will lose only one home game to Toronto every other year. The NFL already does this with the London game without penalizing the same team every year. Ganesh I agree that the Bills could do a better job on that front. May be they run a helicopter service to the Stadium so that the business folks in Toronto can fly in/out of the game quickly.

Norv Turner doesn't coach their defense. -
The Obstacle Remover.... Lived in Pittsburgh PA for a long time, before back to where I was born and raised. Have been on the board for 10 years and on the news group for several years prior to that. TBD is home for all Bills stuff....Really thank SDS for this wonderful site.

Albert Breer article on possible team moves to LA
ganesh replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Due to the ownership situation, the Bills will always be in the LA conversation. The Bills, Jags, Rams and Raiders have question marks about long term ownership and hence LaLa land will always be enchanting to the new buyer...Who will not, when they look at the opportunity in LA vs Buffalo. Until one of these teams actually move to LA, the rumors will never go away. -
Time has a way of healing things, including the high stakes NFL.

Has Another Team Improved More Than the Bills ?
ganesh replied to Owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Steelers had a huge draft by filling holes on the OL with great talent in the 1st and 2nd round. Sometimes, your best moves are the moves that you don't make and there are probably some teams that did just that. The Steelers and Ravens probably had as good a deal as the Bills did. -
Why is it that former Bills players are not turning into hosts on local radio shows in Buffalo. I see a lot of that in Pittsburgh, but not in Buffalo. It also provides them with a good career path. I am assuming that most of the former bills players don't live in Buffalo post their Bills careers

And that one thing missing for a good long run is to have a Franchise QB. I hope the Bills will find that soon. -
Browns DT Phil Taylor possibly out for the season
ganesh replied to kabnt2005's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The actual salary is not guaranteed until he is on the roster on opening day. Hence, it does not make any sense to release Edwards now. What if we have a similar season ending injury. Veterans are cap causalities either when FA starts (mainly due to them have Roster Bonuses) or in the 1st wave of training camp cuts when you are unlikely to have season ending injuries, Edwards is either traded now or will be on the roster till the 1st round of cuts.
