And I hope this scouting also know that they have their Franchise QB in EJ. This year is going to be on EJ to put it all together. He doesn't have to do it all by himself; just needs to be able to execute. Go Bills!

NFL: Television vs Stadium Experience
ganesh replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TV > Stadium as Technology continues to improve... All Pros (When watching on a big screen in your basement with wonderful surround sound) - Get to watch with your best friends and family without paying for each one of them - Beer costs 20% of what you pay at the stadium (and that too for very limited crap) - Anything else that you would buy would cost 10% at your local grocery store. - Go out and play with your kids once the game is done, instead of sitting in a parking lot or thruway or beltway for the next two hours. The "Whole field view" is way over rated. The actual play is on for 2-3 seconds and very few people usually spot "holes" and open WRs. You can hardly see where the ball is, especially when you sitting way up in the upper decks. - Cold Weather. Horrible! Horrible! What you get for being at the stadium: - A chance to meet players as they enter/leave stadium and get autographs - To be part of (always emotional) renderings of National Anthems. - To be able to watch the half-time shows by Celebrities. -
What if American football used soccer-style rules?

You never know. Even in NE, Brady was buried behind Drew Bledsoe on the depth chart. Brady was determined to be successful and wrest the starting position. If Drew never gets hurt, NE would have found it hard to replace him a 6th Rd draft pick. Same way, considering that RJ was getting injured all the time, it might have opened the way for Brady to take charge and keep the position. Remember that at that time we still had an awesome defense and we could have won with Mr. Clutch.

Mandatory Monday: Top Front Sevens
ganesh replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Disagree. If you have a fierce pass rush, the QB is not planting his feet and throwing, but running for their lives. You can win balls games with a great front 7. Just ask Tom Brady./ -
WEDG Report: Rogers meets with Cuomo & Bills
ganesh replied to ET1062's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL is more likely to put a team in London first before Tornoto. -
He did get injured and was out for most of the season opening the door for Hughes to have a career year.

I doubt it. There are two WRs in front of him who are going to get a lot more touches. My vote is for EJ Manuel. This team needs him to step up. He is the most important cog in this wheel for us to be successful.

I am sad the Bills are not opening the position for competition. I think with Vick behind him, Geno is going to become a better QB. The fear of losing your job will pay dividends for Geno.

TBC, I thought Marrone had repeatedly told us that every player practices with the mindset that he is the starter and he will be ready if he gets the call....If Marrone had coached them that way, then we should not have missed a beat
-
But given that he was a rookie undrafted QB, the coach made a gutsy call to let his QB wing it instead of running the ball as the defense would have expected it. Also, it was a fluke play from KC side as the defensive player was actually beat and lucked out.

The drafting of Spiller signaled the end of Lynch. The Bills just couldn't find the partner on draft day. They eventually had to hang on to him for months before Seattle plucked him

should we be worried about the jets?
ganesh replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no "gimme" win in the NFL. Every opponent has an equal chance of winning against us and yes we should be worried about all the 13 opponents that we will face. -
Why. And if the player has not signed sufficient waivers, HIPAA would definitely prevent the Bills from disclosing anything!

And three stumps with two bails on each side of the wicket. I do agree that it hinders learning when you know something close too well. When I started watching baseball, I would do the same....try to relate it to something in cricket and it just never worked... One of the interesting one was: In Baseball, when a hitter hits the ball, he throws his bat and runs...In Cricket, the player actually uses the bat to stretch himself to complete the run. When I played office softball, I would always run with the bat and get laughed at!

Only 66 days to the HOF pre-season game where our Beloved Bills will honor Andre Reed to the Hall.

+1, especially the IPL. Cricket after a century of playing 5 day games and over 30 years of 1-day cricket have figured out the formula that a 3hour game sells on TV. The IPL plays the T20 version of the game that runs for about 3 hours. It is far more exciting and action packed than baseball (for the T20) and some brilliant hitting and catching occurs. If you haven't seen IPL highlights you can check it out on YouTube.

Unless EJ can beat by throwing over the top accurately, the safeties are going to cheat by putting 8 or 9 in the box and stop the run.

Two plays for two players and one setup- Spiller/Watkins
ganesh replied to Adam's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will believe this when Nate commits to putting his best 11 players on the field. If you have FJ in the backfield, Watkins in the slot and Spiller on the Outside, Woods on the other side, this could be a serious mismatch. -
That is too cliche. Who wouldn't want to hire from a winning program. If you had a grad from Harvard and the local community college standing next to each other, which one is the Manager going to pick for hiring.

What record saves this staff? Dooms them?
ganesh replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are plenty of question marks on this coaching staff: 1. Have a sub-par ST coordinator who has done nothing to change that perception. 2. Have changed WR and LB coach after one season. 3. Play calling by Hackett left a lot to be desired last year The good stuff was that Marrone did not make too many boneheaded calls like his predecessors. He seemed calm under duress and knew to put senior players in place (Dareus, Stevie). I think coach Marrone has earned his respect. Now it is up to Nate and Schwartz to bring the intensity. -
We were 28th against the Run last season and 31st the previous year. Unless Spikes plays lights out, this defensive front has not shown any ability to stop the Run. I can't call this a top 5 defense until they show that they can fix the Run. It simply means that the Bills and Chiefs have resembled each other over the decade in both play and results.
