  1. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=pfw-20110301_profiles_of_nfls_32_team_owners Cool link with profile info on all 32 NFL owners. Wish Ralph would gift the team to one of his grandkids like San Fran did.
  2. The NFL owners have an agreement where they get paid by the networks if there are no games this year. The players aren't going to get paid by the owners if they can't reach an agreement and football is locked out. The real number to look at is the MEDIAN and that number was 780,000 in 2009. I read something somewhere that the average NFL career is 3 years which seems about right. I believe the owners have every right to negotiate the best deal possible, however I am skeptical that the players will give back their gains without sufficient evidence. The owners should open their books and allow the NFLPA to examine them to determine if a concession should be made. The NFL is a 9 billion business. The owners get the first 1 billion and get 40% of the next 8 billion. That works out to be 4,200,000,000 or 47% of total revenues. That isn't too bad.
  3. Do you honestly think this way? Who cares what someone's skin color is?
  4. good WR I'm sure NE & NYJ will be taking a looksy. Don't know if we need him but would be a good #2 option on just about any NFL squad.
  5. i don't understand why the playing surface isn't made out of jello.
  6. Leif Larsen! Tom Brady goes to the Patsy's 5 picks later, we all know the rest is history. Alex Van Pelt, Flutie & Johnson were just that good. The curse began with Leif, I say let's burn him at the stake!
  7. Zulu you miss my point. Dareus & Edwards can coexist on the field, Gabbert & Fitz can't. How about we trim some fat and let go of our most notible bust Maybin. Like Maybin, Gabbert seems to have a lot of question marks considering his high draft stock.
  8. Good post. Anybody can be a superstar, but more are busts. Can we afford Gabbert being the latter knowing Fitz can get us decent production?
  9. I don't endorse taking Kaepernick with our 2nd round pick. I prefer Kyle Rudolph or DT/DE/OLB/ILB in round 2. My post was just to engage a dialogue on Kaepernick, whom is climbing many mock draft boards. I'm on the record as being a big Fitz endorser. I think he's got a good 4 to 6 seasons of production. If Kaepernick's stock is falling then why waste the time and interview talking to him?
  10. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2011/3/2/2024588/nfl-scouting-combine-bills-spoke-with-gabbert-newton-locker Gabbert, Newton, Locker, & Kaepernick. Thinking more & more that Kaepernick is our developmental guy - similar combine to newton, scrambler, tall, big, intelligent, smart. Maybe cutting Brohm is a smoke screen? - so we get our DL/LB we love with pick 3. And fall back on Kaepernick in round 2? Here's some additional thoughts Gabbert & Newton will be gone by #13 Minnesota. Locker by the end of round 1 leaving Kaepernick within our grasps. Being that a team can talk to 60 guys at the Combine these are the final 4 canidates for Fitzy's understudy in 2011. Unless I'm missing something this means we have to take a QB with one of our 1st 2 picks. Go Bills!
  11. Ralph wants a QB I agree with you, he said so in October & he obviously doesn't think Fitz is the long term solution beyond 2011. If Newton is gone I think OBD thinks hard on Gabbert and then leans to WR. Similar to the Spiller pick it makes sense to out think ourselves and get a position we have a handle on. Personally I want guy's like Dareus, Quinn, Bowers or Fairley. The only other thing I can think of is we are trying to trade down with Washington or Minnesota to create a bidding war for Cam Newton.
  12. 2011 - 1a Quinn, 1b Dareus, 1c Fairley, 1d Bowers 2010 - Anthony Davis OT, Dez Bryant WR, Tim Tebow QB 2009 - Brian Cushing LB, Brandon Pettigrew TE 2008 - Jeff Otah OT 2007 - Lawrence Timmons LB 2006 - Ngata DT, Wimbeley LB, Tye Hill CB
  13. Last 3 seasons Stroud vs. Seymour not as far apart as you'd think. Seymour has huge edge on sacks but Stroud has 16 Pass Defensed. Stroud is a great 3rd down rusher in nickel package where you rush 4 and allow him to use his football IQ to knock down passes. Unfortunately George Edwards couldn't fit him into that scheme. 14. K Gun Special: Fitz was 4 and 9 as a starter. The 2 other guys went 0 and 3. Fitz gives us a better chance. You seem to forget around mid-season we were the joke of the NFL. Some "analysts" had us going 0-16 and giving the '08 Lions a run for their money in the futility dept. I say take Fitz away from our team and insert Brohm, Edwards and we would have gone 0-16. Fitz was a god-send. Had it not been for a dropped pass Fitz goes 5-8 as a starter & beats the AFC champion. Let's not forget Bradford and his Rams have loaded up on top 5 draft picks the past 5 years. While we have been drafting a few slots lower and usually missing. Analyze the Rams drafts & the quality of their defense compared to ours and see the difference. Not to mention Bradford plays in a dome in the weak NFC West. This is no slight to Bradford I know this kid will be a great pro, but comeon with the Fitz bashing. Do you think it is possible that Fitz can boost his completion percentage with the right amount of arm strengthening, practice reps with his receivers, and Gailey dialing up short to intermediate passes a la Welker, WR screens, and a proven Tight End relief valve?
  15. Hurricane Ditka - hindsight is 20/20. Fitz is better than Gabbert and Newton for 2011. In 2012 Fitz is still better, 2013 possibly not, but that said Fitz is still the best option now. Why try to fit a square peg in a round hole? Why do we need to take Gabbert or Newton if a guy like Fairley, Quinn, Dareus, or Bowers will be available? This draft is loaded with defensive front 7 talent. We have a need for improving the worst front 7 in the NFL. We can't win without a serious upgrade. Fitz can improve his game in the accuracy dept. In baseball, pitchers will often strengthen their arms in the offseason and improve their accuracy. If a pitcher can make his arm stronger or work on his accuracy why can't Fitz? Why can't Gailey & Fitz continue developing his game? A lot of QBs come on later in their careers. Aaron Rodgers is born in 1983 Fitz in 1982. Why can't Fitz get better? Kurt Warner went from a grocery store stock-boy to a Super Bowl winning QB at the age of 28. Fitz has the intelligence, leadership, and moxy to lead us and start winning if he is given a better supporting cast. My hope is we give him the opportunity.
  16. just saw he gave up 5 sacks in 3 seasons. That's pretty good considering the level of competition.
  17. I voted for Quinn. My rankings are Quinn, Fairley, Bowers, Dareus. On offense Green, & Newton. I don't like Gabbert at all, reminds me too much of Bledsoe.
  18. One Hall of Famer in 11 picks ain't too shabby. I will take a .100 batting average. Problem is the misses have been so bad. We are all trying not to think of "Ms. Erin Maybin".
  19. As fans we are the one's to blame. We demand that we win now or else. We want this guy fired or that guy hired. We take no accountability in all this. We are the mob! The owners are & the players will both benefit. Beyond all their posturing to the media they are really driving up the cost of the street drug. We are are like an out of control drug addict. My advice? Don't renew your season tickets, cancel your Sunday Ticket, don't buy NFL apparel, boycott Madden starting today (yikes!), don't play fantasy football, don't go to www.twobillsdrive.com. The NFL is at an all-time high and the way I see it WE THE FANS have created this and we will end up paying more in the end. Sadly the increase in costs could spell the end of small market teams like our beloved Buffalo Bills.

  21. heard he was gonna out to Ralph and show Buddy & Chan his million dollar arm. watch out cam!
  22. All elite QB's have way better weapons & throw a ton of short passes. Fitz got 150 yards from his Tight End position, has no Wes Welker safety valve and the RBs were rarely targeted. I'll take 57% completion percentage than 62% Trent "Capt Checkdown" Edwards. Tom Brady has made a career off of throwing WR screens, RB screens, and WR crosses - simple 1 to 2 yard passes with a lot of YAC. How many of these types of passes did Gailey even draw up in '10?
  23. Why Kyle Rudolph? Because the guy is an excellent blocker & can catch the ball. Had he not torn his hammy and missed the last 6 games he'd be in the top 20. The guy started & contributed his first 3 seasons and has great competitiveness. Casey Matthews was my swing pick. Figure if Wanny converts us to a true 4-3 he comes off the table. Casey Matthews did make a great strip on Cam Newton in the Champ Game just like big bro did to Mendenhall. Coincidence? I think not. Truthfully I'd also be fine with Chris White from Miss. St. 6'3'' 245, that guy hits like a bigger version of Zach Thomas. Allow me to explain Zulu: Matt Ryan is now good as of year 3. Still hasn't won a playoff game. He was the most highly touted QB in the '08 class and was compared as the most NFL ready QB since the guys from Rd 1 '04. Do you honestly think Gabbert or Newton is as good as Ryan? Why wait till next year on QB - because there ain't a QB worth the #3 pick. Why not build a team with a good defense & oline. And get a guy mid-first round like Big Ben a few years down the road?
