  1. Sanchez because of his playoff record alone: 4-1. Assuming he finds a way past Big Ben he will pull even farther away. Given the supporting cast this question is a bit unfair. Switch both players and I think the Bills win 4 or 6 and the Jets get 10 wins at least. That said Fitz has proven to make the costly mistake in the heat of the battle and Sanchez appears to be a gamer when it's all on the line. Fitz is good enough to get a team like the NY Jets into the playoffs & win a game or two. I just don't think he makes some of the throws that Sanchez does a la Holmes in the corner of the end zone.
  2. Let's assume he's referring to San Diego Chargers only that gives us a choice of: http://walterfootball.com/freeagentscontractssd.php After reviewing this list I'm wondering if we could get Brandon Siler & Randy McMichael. We could use a veteran TE with proven pass catching experience and with 387 catches and 4217 yards and 24 tds McMichael would fit the "Bill" the next 2 seasons. Siler plays backup Inside Linebacker and is the Chargers long snapper so he is highly versatile.
  3. Mangini would undermine Gailey. I highly doubt the elder Gailey would want to cede any credit to a young coach whom some consider the 2nd coming of Belichick. That's not to say it wouldn't work, but it is highly unlikely this marriage would work. Seems Gailey is dead set on making George Edwards work.
  4. Due to our need for a LT, DE, DT, OLB, the Bills should draft a mid-round QB with "Brady" like intangibles and give Fitzpatrick 10 games in '11. Let's assume Fitz stays healthy but we manage 4 wins or less after 10 games. At that point put in the rookie. If Fitz goes .500 or better than allow him to fail. Once we are mathmatically eliminated I think you insert the rookie for the last 6 games or whenever we are out. Let's assume the rookie plays like Jimmy Clausen and we finish in the running again for Andrew Luck. We all know a team is built around the QB position. If we need to hit rock bottom in the 2011 season than I say do it. I am a Fitz fan, I think he could benefit from a better line, and a real TE. I think like a baseball pitcher he could work on the location of his pitches by excercising his arm and perfecting his technique in the offseason. While Fitz has a career 57% completion percentage the slightest improvement could mean the difference between 4-12 in '10 & 9-7 in '11, thus allowing him not to be Luck's mentor in 2012. 5. The Jets owned the Pats & Brady today. The rookie TEs were taken out of the game. Welker & Branch looked oversized and Woodhead missed his blitz pickups. I am surprised the Pats didn't go more no huddle to wear down the Jets. The Bills will not be able to compete against the Jets or Pats for 3 to 4 years. The Pats have a lot of young talent and a loaded 2011 draft and the Jets are the power team. We are so far from competing against these teams.
