A very sad sight this morning when I saw that Mrs. Bullpen had dug a scraper/brush out of the coat closet to use. Even sadder that I had to don the Carhart jacket today to go to work.

RIP Booker. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. As a young fan, I always like Booker, because I thought he had a cool name.

*bump* Wonder what the mensa members in Tampa think of him now!?!?! -
Count me among the ones who want a Big L on opening night in Big D! (although I do want Romo to fling that friggin ball all over the field and rack up some gaudy numbers for my fantasy team )

Nice job Vince! Very cool thing to do for the family of a former mentor and friend. Classic act...

Who/What is most to blame for the loss on MNF?

My buddy Mo for texting a congratulatory message with five minutes left on the clock!!!! -
Good analogy Tennessee.... I like it. My cousin who lives in Amherst sent me an email today, he described last night's game in what I can honestly say is almost the most dead-on-balls accurate phrase I've heard. He said "It was death by a thousand little cuts." I had no reply for other than "spot on Michael." No, he's blue collar, he'll be taking his lunch pail to the steel mill wait we don't have those anymore... He'll be taking his lunch pail to the tool and die shop.

I see the fan-on-fan violence has already started today! Mike Ryan would like that! Anyone have a couple extra f-bombs laying around? I used all mine up last night.

When Fred Jackson scored on the screen.....

I had a few people over to watch the game last night and they were more of an anti-pats crowd than a Pro-Bills crowd, but with 5 minutes left a friend who wasn't there texted a message "congrats man, great win" I KNEW it was jinx at that moment. When the pats* went ahead, i took the folding chair I was sitting in, calmly walked out the back door and chucked it a good 10 or 15 yards (almost farther than any Bills pass last night). Picked up the phone, called my buddy told him NEVER to text me a message like that again until the clock shows all zeros and then I hung up. He knows I was mostly kidding, but the unwritten rule (especially with the Bills) is it ain't over 'til it's over. Ended up drinking my way through the whole second game and sending Beerbawl my post game rant via PM. -

Your personal 2009 Buffalo Bills season slogan

Great one Dev. (Geek tag not required) The 2009 Buffalo Bills: That sound is 1000s of Western New York TVs shutting off simultaneously. -
In the age of facebook and myspace, that'll never happen again. Everyone feels they are "entitled" to their own 15 minutes of fame and there is no such thing as descretion anymore. Every thought, feeling or urge they feel, they post it for the world to see. THAT'S why you get all these stories published now.

Happy birthday to all of you!!! Scott, thanks for all your hard work in creating this site.

First Guff, thanks for sharing your raw, emotional thoughts. One of the most powerful posts I've read here... ever. I remember kind of being numb all day. I kind of went into operation shut down at work as far as watching the events unfold on TV. I was working for an Anheuser-Busch distributor at the time. Everyone else was in the conference rooms watching it on TV, I tried to stay as busy as possible doing stuff at work, so I didn't have to focus on it. At some point around mid morning I remembered that I had a friend who worked for Bear-Stearns, so I emailed him to see if he was okay. Luckily he was fine. Getting news was sketchy at best for him though, so I forced myself to go online and find out as much hard-factual (read: not speculation) news for him and was emailing it to him as quickly as I could. About noon or 1 pm, a delivery route supervisor started asking anyone and everyone who could get on a truck and help the delivery guys drop their orders to do so, because everyone wanted to get home with their families or pick their children up at school. We all jumped in pick ups and went out and found every Budweiser truck we could and helped the drivers finish their routes that day. On the way to pick up my son, all the gas stations were packed with people filling up their tanks (not sure why that stands out, but it does). I remember a lady hollering at one convenience store that she didn't care if she jumped the line on others because "we're all gonna die anyway." (I'm not proud of this, but I remember wanting to punch her right in the nose, because of the selfishness and the stupidity of her statement in front of my child and others). I remember swilling ALOT of beer that night and watching the TV ad nauseum. By Friday night I had had enough of being prisoner to the TV news and made my family go out for dinner, just to get away from it for awhile. I guess the overall feeling I had that day was numbness...

4 - 52 yds and one gripe about the no-huddle. -
Naaaaw, who hates him? I read both parts 1 and 2 of his Vegas trip and it actually wasn't bad, he must have gotten a kick back from Phillip Morris through for every time he mentioned their product by name. * In the name of fair and balanced coverage, I thought the story about pizza being delivered to the suite when they were drafting was pretty good.

Top 5 Sporting Events To Attend
Bullpen replied to Lt. Dan's Revenge's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Ooooo, I might have to whack the MLB All-Star game and include the Ryder Cup as well! Although, I would love to see if overseas, just so I could get some site-seeing and pint drinking out of the way while I'm there. -
Oh this Steve in Atlanta saga is just too good to be true! I love when the FNG's come in here full of brimstone and bluster! Congrats on getting a decent offer Scott, if you don't take it tell them to call and offer me the same service, I promise I'll take it!!!
