  1. AJ. If he stinks up the place, Josh will come in after the bye.
  2. And the pass catchers? It helps to have them actually catch the ball. If they don't, it reflects on the QB's stats.
  3. I don't see a complete analysis of Wyoming's offense in these tweets, so people will assume it's all Josh Allen's fault. He will not be our Day 1 starter, so people need to relax.
  4. Bring him back for a one-year deal this year, sign him for a two- or three-year deal next offseason. Good experienced backup.
  5. Of that I have no doubt. The trouble is that too many fans complain when we do too well and make the playoffs.
  6. We made the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor last year. Now we have better throwers in the QB room, and people are complaining.
  7. Edmunds is listed at 6-5, 253, and he's thin?
  8. Yes, I watched the draft. I'm just not convinced that any of these QBs were the kind you trade up for. You trade up for guys that you know can and will start Week 1 (Manning, Manning, or Luck). There are none in this draft.
  9. Allen wants to make 9 teams pay, but is that really what you want your young franchise QB to be concerned with? He needs to focus more on his teammates, the playbook, and getting on the field for meaningful plays first.
  10. I think Beane was trying to protect the Bills from any other team thinking about trading ahead of them. Allen wasn't my first choice, either, but apparently, he's the guy.
  11. Couldn't agree more. I did not want to trade up, but Beane did, twice, and they got the two most important positions for us in this draft. Flesh out the depth with rest of the picks, and we'll be fine. This team was not supposed to go 9-7 and make the playoffs, but it did, and fans who wanted the Bills to tank still whined.
  12. But it is hard to throw when you are on the turf. Playing in one and winning one are two different animals. I will give you that 1st-round QBs have the highest representation in the Super Bowl, but I don't want to trade up for one of the 1st-rounders in this draft. None of them are worth it. I'm not against drafting one in the 1st round, but I'll stay put at 12 and see who falls to that spot. David Carr I believe was drafted in 2002, not the 80s.
  13. I'm Ok with building up the rest of the team and filling the other holes we have as well. There is not one QB in this draft we could trade up fore that would lead us to the playoffs this year. Look at David Carr. How many playoff games did he lead Houston to while averaging 40 sacks a year behind horrible offensive lines? Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, Nick Foles?
  14. The systems are different, but dropbacks are still dropbacks, slants are still slants, go routes are still go routes, and getting sacked is still getting sacked.
  15. I'm OK with that, as long as your pick has a decent value at the spot where you draft him. I don't want to see us reach for a QB just because we need a QB.
  16. But look at the non-first-round quarterbacks who have at least made it to the playoffs-something we've been able to do only this year-with Tyrod Taylor as a QB.
  17. Quarterbacking isn't that much different today. To quote Phil Simms-95% of the quarterback's job is throwing the football.
  18. I'm staying put. My philosophy is that you trade up only if you have a guy you know can and will start on Day 1. To me, that means a Manning (either one) or a Luck. I don't see that in this draft.
  19. The guys on my list have won more Super Bowls than yours. And most of them weren't drafted in the fist round.
  20. Is that a result of poor drafting, poor coaching, or both?
  21. Do you need to draft a QB in the early 1st round in order to have a franchise QB? Jim Kelly: Pick #14-right in the middle of a then 28-team league Dan Marino: Pick #27 of the same draft Brett Favre, Drew Brees: 2nd round Joe Montana:3rd round Tom Brady: 6th round, pick #199 My point is that you can draft a QB outside of the first round, develop him, surround him with talent, and install the right system, and he can be a franchise QB. On the other hand, how many 1st-round QBs have been draft busts? JeMarcus Russell, Todd Marinovich, EJ Manuel, JP Losman, Ryan Leaf, just to name a few.
