  1. Is Marrone 110% confident in EJ?
  2. Well, regardless, my point stands. The odds of us going after a LT in FA are almost 0%. Armchair GMs should target RTs.
  3. Simply watch him over the last 4-5 games, his decline in play is pretty evident despite what his tackle stats say. He started missing tackles (Rainey 80yd TD run), had trouble shedding blocks, and picked some poor lanes and got swept up in the blocking far too often (the NE debacle). I sort of expected this. He is listed at 238, and I think that's pretty generous. You have to remember he's coming from playing 12 games in college to running every snap over a 16-game NFL season. There's really no way to prepare your body for the brutality of that at his position, so I think he wore down both mentally and physically. I bet he struggled to maintain 230 by the final week. I think a full off-season with our training staff is going to do wonders for him, and I am very excited to see how he performs next year. I bet he starts next season at 245 or so.
  4. He's a LT (and a very good one) so he's going to get a huge contract (also not an area of need). Look for RT's such as Zach Strief from the Saints, who could be had at a much more reasonable price.
  5. I'm trying to imagine how this board would react if EJ had to face the New York media. That's a cupcake Q&A in NYC.
  6. No, just until you get one whose knees aren't made out of balsa wood.
  7. EJ's pressers are a lot like his play in the pocket - feels phantom pressure and he bails. Hiyoooooo!
  8. Guys, 3 knee injuries in his 1st year is a good thing. It's going to strengthen his resolve.
  9. If you don't think the KC loss was Tuel's and Grahams fault, I don't know what to tell you. KC didn't score an offensive TD that day, and if they played another 4 quarters I doubt they would have. Nobody was beating NO inside that dome, not even SF. And no, the D didn't play that well against Cincy, but they held them to 24 in regulation. Feel free to show me all those losses where the O put up 30+ points though...
  10. That happened a grand total of 1 time (Toronto game). You want to win? You'll win when we get better play out of our QB. I agree with Badol's comments - once the team lost to KC, they just mailed in every road game. Show me a Bills fan who would have traded Mike Pettine for Jim Schwartz straight-up at the end of the season and I'll show you a liar.
  11. Well you're dead wrong on that. That article actually made me look up the numbers, and the Pats finished 20-32 in FF's 6 times over the last decade (they were 30th or lower 3 times). I think you are confusing FF's with overall +/- turnover ratio or something.
  12. We play Detroit this year. Lookout - Thanksgiving game incoming!
  13. Oh God get ready for the 9-wide.
  14. I wouldn't go that far. He took a Washington defense that was at the bottom of the league and immediately turned them into a top 5 defense (I remember Joe Gibbs made a push for him). He had great results in his first 2 years in New Orleans, and Sean Payton thought so highly of him he personally took a $250K paycut to get him on board. He's very aggressive and his attacking schemes would be a great match for our personnel and philosophy. Did he get stale after 3 years? Maybe. But seriously, the Bills can't keep a DC for more than 1 year - the last thing I'm worried about is if our defense is going to be stale in 2016-2017. Now if you want to argue that his coaching won't be the same without a bounty program in place, well, that might be a concern. I have no issues with him or Wade coming on board. My guess is we will promote from within though.
  15. Yeah, if we've learned anything over the past 2 years, it's that the DC doesn't really matter...
  16. He's a damn good DC, if you can get over Bountygate.
  17. Didn't know he was an option, but if he is, I'd love to see it. There are some players on this D that could be downright scary if someone could get them to play with an edge (looking at you Marcel)...
  18. He got a 5-year deal (not that it matters), looks like they are trying to give the illusion of stability. For the record, Chud's deal was 4 years $12.5M. I'd wager Pettine's is for the same amount @ $2.5M per, and since coach's contracts are guaranteed - grats on the $12.5M Mike and best of luck.
  19. ‏@MaryKayCabot reporting that the interview with Quinn for HC is about to start any minute now...
  20. If Bills fans are already downplaying him, it must be close to official.
  21. I'm with you on that. Bring on the draft already. I'm only dispelling the silly notion that Pettine should turn down a HC job. And of course Chud would rather win. The 3 guys you mentioned are coaching in the Super Bowl, and the other for the Pats. We have been a sub .500 team for a long time. I'd guess those 3 guys will be in the playoffs again next year, and are going to be more highly regarded than Pettine. Again, Pettine has no HC experience, no rings, and is on a 6-10 team, he can't pick and choose. If he gets a shot he better fight for it.
  22. I get what you are saying, but on the other hand, there is no guarantee that he will ever get asked again. If you get your shot - take it and even if you fail you can say you gave it your all. Worst case is you are financially set for life. Contracts for coaches are guaranteed. Poor Chud, he's only going to get paid $10.5M for one year of work. Who on earth would ever want a HC job, huh? Maybe we should pass the hat around so he can pay his rent. At at the end of it all, Chud's name didn't really get tarnished. If anything, it seems the consensus is that he didn't get a fair shot.
  23. Yeah, you would walk away from $9M+ Righhhhhhht. Edit: not directly solely at you, but everyone saying he should walk away.
  24. What an absolute crock. So tired of the media making excuses for Brady, and then the fans parrot that nonsense. What, Brady doesn't have 3 Pro Bowl targets to throw to anymore? Guess what, most QBs go their entire career without that luxury. Edelman was always underrated and he's proven to be an absolute terror this season. Amendola is no slouch either - one of the best slot receivers in the game. And they did manage to salvage half a season out of Gronk, who is still arguably the best TE in the game. Maybe it would help if Brady wasn't overthrowing them by 10 yards. Saying they have the worst receiver options in playoff history is laughable, especially when their targets are better than Seahawks' options.
