  1. The 2nd year was added to prevent NE from franchising him. It's purposely ridiculous to force NE to either sign him to a long-term deal or let him hit the market again. Edit: It's also quite stunning to think that 48hrs ago NE's secondary was in big trouble, and in the blink of an eye they land Revis & Browner. Unbelievable.
  2. hitp://espn.go.com/nfl/story/spikes-bills-reach-30-million-dollar-contract
  3. It's Incarcerated Bob, he says something like that for most FA visits. If he's right 20% of the time, it's good enough for 100K followers. Yes, we can't pass on the best run-stuffing LB in FA just to protect the delicate sensibilities of a few fans. I'd bet $$$ that FJax himself would love the signing. You don't stop LeGarrette Blount with a Boy Scout.
  4. Well, now you're going to get to see him twice a year. Brandon Browner to Pats for $17M
  5. He does work for bleacher http://tinyurl.com/lx2jadr
  6. Hahaha oh man if he leaves town then we just dodged a huge bullet. On the other hand, if he signs - SUPERBOWL!
  7. Some reading material for the F5ers Normal rules don’t apply to Brandon Spikes
  8. I require at least 25 links to the same page on the official site before confirmation. This thread isn't even up to a dozen yet. Let's step it up people.
  9. Sounds like a HIPPA violation!
  10. Someone get Russert's mom on the horn for confirmation.
  11. Conversation with a friend last weekend: Me: Where do you think Browner winds up? Him: Well not here, so I really don't care as long as it isn't NE Me: Nah, no chance of that, they won't want to deal with the off-field stuff Him: Yeah, no way he goes there, he's still suspended for like 4 games anyways. Whoops
  12. Ty Powell went to Harding, is that an SEC school?
  13. I don't mind the signing. I love hearing this though.
  14. No, I'm thinking about Browner - the 6'4" 225lb CB that is regarded as the most physically intimidating press corner in the league. His departure from Seattle had nothing to do with his performance, it was because the man could not stop smoking weed. Yes, he does get flagged a lot (no prob in NE), primarily because he plays the position like a professional wrestler. He's a vicious hitter that loves contact, and his signing would give NE the best secondary in the AFC. Taking out 3 guys on ST
  15. He's suspended the first 4 games of 2014, but man, Browner is a beast
  16. Maybe Hackett wants to run some 2 TE sets ala Gronkowski/Hernandez (albeit with less talent and hopefully less murdering)? Psshhh, youngsters. I'm still PO'ed about Tony Hunter.
  17. Lock the thread, the chase for a comp pick is over. We officially got zilch for Byrd.
  18. Easley, Rivers, Graham, and Dixon = no more excuses for Crossman.
  19. No relief from Logan Mankins, Vince Wilfork Looks like they asked them both to restructure. Mankins said "No way." Smart move, better to get on the market now than wait for them to possibly cut you.
  20. Vince, we forgive you for smashing Losman's knee. There. It's settled.
  21. A torn achillies is no joke on a 350lb+ man.
  22. Based on the CB market, it's very possible that Graham could have squeaked out a few extra million going somewhere else. This is one of the rare instances where a FA may have taken a slight discount because the Bills were his first choice. And yeah, he went to a Probowl as a ST player before. With him, Easley, and Rivers (also a plus ST guy), the excuses are over for Crossman.
  23. Yeah, his rookie contract wasn't bad at all. http://blogs.suntime...e_chris_wi.html
  24. http://www.spotrac.c...ts/jairus-byrd/ Look at the dead money. He gets $20.4M the first 2 years. Realistically, it's a 4 year deal that pays him $36.6M. They can shed the last 2 years ($17M) with very little dead money ($2.2M) if they so desire. If anything, it shows that he really, really wanted out of this town.
  25. I wonder if the blizzard cost him some money.
