  1. Surprising. I honestly thought he would mention it. Maybe follow it up with a discussion on how Manuel was drafted too high as well, then segue into some banter about last year's signings of Chris Williams and Keith Rivers. Just havin some fun
  2. Like I just said, he needs the right system and the right talent. I wouldn't say his Arizona, Oak, and Carolina teams were talented. Also in that half season he outplayed Jay Cutler, the TDB dream-crush of last January. And yeah, he may be the girl who is a 5, but that 5 is always going to look a lot better when you have a 3 waiting at home.
  3. It's called demand. Whether TSW realizes it or not, he's one of the top FA QB's out there. He's shown that if you plug him into the right system and surround him with talent, he is capable of putting up some impressive numbers. Then again, if you stick him behind an OL that can't block, it's not very pretty.
  4. I think you are seeing something completely different than I am. I don't see a fan base that expects a rookie QB to have a Pro Bowl season. I see a fan base that would be thrilled if they thought EJ could someday be considered an "average" QB ranked somewhere between 15-16 in the league. Not in his first year even -- just an average game manager QB down the road.
  5. Well, we don't have to worry about winning anymore shootouts with Neuvirth in net. Otherwise, he had a solid game.
  6. How much time would you like to give him? We've already given him two years, and both times he lost the job himself - once by injury and once by terrible play. Keep in mind he's been regressing, not improving. Does anyone remember last offseason? He threw so many balls into the dirt at SJF, they'll probably need a new surface this year. He was so bad in preseason we had to keep our 1st team offense in the game well into the 3rd quarter to score our 1st TD against a 2nd string defense. He was so bad that Whaley had to bring in Jordan Palmer for a tryout, and then throw an $11M contract at Orton to get him to come here. We were practically facing a WR revolt after the San Diego game. Do you remember that? You want him to play 16 games regardless of how he performs? Is that fair to the rest of the team? Edit: I also completely disagree with your theory that the fans need to baby our QB.
  7. There ya go, it's our fault EJ got benched. If you would have just told us this sooner, we would have all sat around and sang Kumbaya for EJ.
  8. That's just complete BS. There's going to be at least 3 (maybe even 4) QBs in camp this year all fighting to start. I'm amused by some of the people upset with OBD kicking the tires on McCown. It's almost like they thought we were joking when we said this year's FA QB crop is a complete dumpster fire.
  9. Bogosian looked tremendous last night.
  10. A cautionary tale that shows how quickly the skills of a speed rusher can fade.
  11. Hah, that's what you get for playing your backup goalie against the Oilers!
  12. Drafting EJ Manuel is what set this franchise back. Not Marrone. Not Hackett. Not Orton. As a matter of fact, the only reason Orton was even a member of this team is because we drafted EJ Manuel. And please stop this "only 14 games" crap. I'm so sick of the EJ Dreamers pretending that Manuel is still this unknown quantity that was never given a fair chance. He's been here over two years now -- that's two OTAs, two training camps, two preseasons, and two season openers where he was the starting QB. They know what they have.
  13. I don't like the deal at all. I just don't think that much of Kane.
  14. That Baylor offense is crazy though, the article was definitely right about that.
  15. Nonsense. They can walk away after this year easily. A one year hit of $8M in dead money is hardly crippling. We had more dead money tied up in Fitz and didn't bat an eyelash.
  16. What people don't understand is that the Bengals aren't tied to Dalton for 6 years. His contract is essentially a 2-3 year "prove-it" deal that they can walk away from with minimal damage. It's the "new" QB contract for 2nd tier guys. Tannehill will most likely get the same treatment. Andy Dalton's new contract rightly pays him like a 2nd-tier QB
  17. Bills co-owner Terry Pegula said in a statement that he and co-owner Kim Pegula, General Manager Doug Whaley, and coach Rex Ryan gathered with Incognito, who had a suspension lifted by the NFL last February after his role in a bullying scandal with the Miami Dolphins. You know what I like best about this quote? No mention of Russ or Overdorf.
  18. I would bet it would be a Dalton 2-year prove-it deal. Don't lock in on the big $100M number.
  19. You just answered your own question.
  20. F*** it, sigh Suh. Let's be the 80's Raiders instead of the 2014 Raiders.
  21. Time to trade Enroth before he F's this up for us.
  22. When I get some time I'll make a thread on Taylor and why I think we might see him in a Bills uni this year. I promise it will make some sense. Maybe.
  23. What would you like us to judge him on? When you can't make it onto the field, preseason is all we have. Maybe talk about the Sugar Bowl, when Eric Striker smoked him for 3 sacks?
