  1. I think EJ has progressed. I did not want him to be handed the starting job, but instead prove that he can battle in a competition and win the job. There is something about EJ that I can't quite explain. He's not clutch per se, but he looks calm and handles big moments and high pressure well considering his lack of experience. I truly feel that given an opportunity to have a career EJ Manuel would develop into a clutch starting QB and someone you can depend on to convert game winning drives. He has a shocking amount of detractors and he really has risen to the occasion. If he doesn't get another snap with the first team as a Buffalo Bill I'll be disappointed in the organization. They took too long to quit on Losman and Edwards, but I think they are quitting too soon on EJ Manuel. There's definitely an art to grooming a franchise QB and for whatever reason the Bills since Kelly have gotten it dreadfully wrong each time.
  2. yeah, he's so terrible that he's on this list of 11 of the worst quarterbacks of all time.
  3. That's awesome. If EJ threw 10 good spirals there would be a debate over what is and isn't a spiral.
  4. Here's a 9 minute clip of EJ making plays from his first 10 games that you will not watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBDqyq_6Oc0&feature=youtu.be&t=13s
  5. Are you sure you didn't mean to post this in the Buffalo News comments section?
  6. Where did this question come from? What's the context of it? He has only played for one coaching staff in his 14 game career.
  7. Congratulations Metzelaars, you're the first person I've ever had to block on a message board.
  8. The post I was referring to showed the similarities between EJ's first 14 games and how it's better than Tannehill's first 16. From a comparative standpoint, the argument is: why the pitchforks and torches now, when EJ's ceiling is potentially higher than Tannehill's, and he showed no greater signs at this point in his career than EJ? You do understand that the people who want EJ to start, want him to start because that's a good way to groom someone into being a franchise quarterback, right? I'm not saying that EJ is the end-all-be-all, but I am saying that it's ludicrous for everyone to give up on him when he's performing on par or better than most franchise QB's at this point in their career. If the Bills decide to go with Cassel, and we perform in the 10 win range and make the playoffs this year or next because of our defense (and I'm not saying that playing EJ in any way negates making the playoffs), that's great and all - but come 2017 we've got no franchise QB and an aging defense. Oh, the solution is to draft one you say? Well unless it's Andrew Luck he's going to need a few years to figure it out. You have clearly proven that you won't give that guy those years, so now what? Rinse and repeat, I suppose.
  9. Hey now, we pay them with degrees printed on high quality cardstock.
  10. The only problem with this, is that the scrimmage and preseason game did not have repeated mistakes at a frustrating rate. Yes it did. Even EJ's incomplete passes are more impressive than the other QB's.
  11. No, you see Tennehill is awesome, and EJ sucks. That's the narrative we've been told, and we must stick to it. Please remove the facts, I've seen EJ throw an incomplete pass.
  12. Why start a new thread to regurgitate what you've read all over these boards and heard on WGR?
  13. Grammatically speaking, if you stop putting spaces before your periods and commas your posts would be much easier to read.
  14. It makes me dumber even having to type this out for you, but Zach Mettenberger is 0-6 as a starter and worse than EJ Manuel.
  15. I'm more interested in his scripted plays after the catch with WR's doing laterals. It's a totally untapped aspect to the game, and I've always thought to move the ball in that manner every once in a while would completely throw off the defense. For example, if you had Chris Hogan run a slant towards the middle, and have him turn around after the catch and essentially hand it off to Percy Harvin who is running laterally, all the while the rest of the unit executed a punt return formation, how in the world would the defense be ready to stop it?
  16. I don't understand what you're going to say when EJ gets his opportunity in preseason with the 1's? I mean according to you we must take all reports from the media as gospel, right? So what happens when they report he's practicing with the ones? Are you going to return to this thread and announce, EJ IS FIRST. PERIOD. EXCLAMATION POINT!
  17. I thought this wasn't up for debate, though? You have no response other than to point to totally different players? As far as the media is concerned, who other than Joe B. and Sal Capacia (and by extension the mighty WGR 550) has reported to you that EJ Manuel is a horrible (without debate) quarterback?
  18. Where did this come from? Honestly? How is that not up for debate? Last season he went 2-2, and had 5 TDs and 3 INTs. Heading into the Texans game he had a QB Rating of 91.8. He played poorly in the Texans game, but how crazy are you to assume that a bad game means he's horrible and it's without debate. If you look at a single game to make your decision, why did you pick that game and not the Panthers game from his rookie season? Don't forget the facts because of the crusade, man. This kid was not as bad as the media and the crazies on the board are portraying. We've had some real stinkers the last few years, and I'm shocked how many hate on this guy, perhaps more than the others.
  19. ...he went 2-2. Crusaders gonna crusade.
  20. I don't understand the hate for the OP's comments. I want to beat Brady, 100%. If you don't think the win will be cheapened without him in there, how do you feel about our week 17 win last year? I say all of this completely knowing that all games count the same, so save it. I want to see Brady throw 4 picks again. I want to see him get sacked as much as possible. I want the Bills to use a huge division shifting win as momentum for the rest of the season. Roger Federer won the French Open because another player beat Nadal for him. He won the tournament, it was great for him, but it was so cheapened and everyone knows it. We want to see the best face each other, and we are lying if we wouldn't prefer that the Bills beat the Pats with Brady at QB.
  21. Although the OP's article insinuates that he's starting, the depth chart has him penciled in at No. 2: Ole Miss Depth Chart And this article mentions a 3-way battle, for those interested: Ole Miss Preview and this as well, Ole Miss QB Battle.
