The fact he said Marone must fix Fitz makes this analysis moot IMO. The only fixing of Fitz that might be happening--and that's probably less than 50-50--is teaching him how to hold the clipboard properly. I personally see Chip Kelly either tearing it up, or getting blown up. Funny how this guy generates extremes of opinion on both ends. As an analyst with SI, especially one with as little experience as this reporter, I'd temper my grade of a guy whose never even stepped foot in an NFL lockerroom.

Last time, a kick should be a penalty. All I'm saying is that it was more dangerous to Brady than Reed. His leg was exposed in the air. I remember when I played soccer as a lad, I slid, attempting to kick the ball. Someone ran into my leg. He was fine. I was in serious pain.

Can't believe I'm defending Brady, and I'm really not, because you obviously shouldn't put your leg up, but picture yourself in the following scenario: You're on the ground. You've got the body style of Brady. Ed Reed collides into your leg--full speed--as you're on the ground, motionless. You really saying that's not potentially going to cause serious damage to Brady...more so than Reed? He could've snapped his freaking ankle. I can't believe so many people don't see that.

What ever Reed's weight, he was barreling right at Brady. A collision, IMO, would have hurt Brady more than Reed. It was more stupid than dirty. That's my point.

Think people are overreacting here. He had a 300 pound monster barreling in on him. The chance of him getting seriously hurt from that move was substantially higher than the defender.

Atlanta, with the best record in the NFL, is getting no love here. Including from me: SF over NE*.

You're really asking me how political correctness has taken away freedom and free choice? California mandating gay history. Colorodo mandating that private daycare centers must carry dolls that represent at least three different races. A RI town banning daddy-daughter dances. Schools calling Christmas trees holiday trees. Municipalities banning Nativity scenes. Universities banning the word freshman. Universities banning certain words and requiring that students take inclusion training. Kids getting expelled for hugs and drawing guns. Censorship of various books. The Rooney Rule. Do you want more? .

Apologies to the OP for being one of the posters who turned a thread about the Hogettes into a debate on political correctness. I have a strong view on this subject, that offense over the name redskin is manufactured, and that people who are offended by a term that mentions someone's skin color are overly sensitive. I also feel political correctness is one of the biggest threats to freedom, as it makes us overly sensitive and prone to collectivism over the individual--I have tens if not hundreds of examples--and that this redskin thing is symbolic of the path we're taking. But I would hope we could be reasonably civil about this.

Hey--just a poll. The sentiment threads will be crucial Bills events only. Hopefully when we search for sentiment, or what ever the term will be, only a few posts will pop up rather than 100s. Now we're getting nasty but I'll bite. You really think hordes of people are offended by the term redskin? In this age when everything is dictated by political correctness, when people are routinely fired for saying ill-advised but harmless off-color jokes, when (read the examples above)? We'd have people boycotting, screaming, marching. It's manufactured.

I see your point, but it's manufactured. No one uses that term anymore. If we had a team called the "Darkies", everyone and their moms would be screaming in the street. You don't see that here. Yeah, there are some oversensitive types, but it's mostly intellectual types who overthink **** to the point of exhaustion. If we truly trace the history of words, we'd probably find half of them are offensive to someone. It's not about not changing ways. It's about being afraid of offending anyone. This fear morphs into real life and public policy--not just football--and takes away our common sense to the point of absurdity on a near daily basis.
