  1. He shredded defenses. In high school.
  2. Throwing deep. And pick sixes.
  3. He's Muslim. And he has ham in his name. Wow. Never heard of him before. Needs some serious help.
  4. How are you honestly coming to that evaluation? I've seen one quarter three weeks ago (horrible), two second halves during the preseason (impressive, relentless, gutsy) and one bad quarter in preseason.
  5. I got the Saints game last week. It does seem every time we get a televised game on Sunday, we suck. Maybe we can hire Chan Gailey for this game. He has a penchant for mauling the Chiefs.
  6. That was actually entertaining. No need to be like Rex Ryan, but no need to be like Bilichick either. Get that man a Red Bull. With a 5 Hr Energy chaser.
  7. I'll paraphrase the announcing duo in four sentences: Aww, look at those cute widdle Bills. They haven't given up! Hey, did we mention how good Brees is? He's REALLY good!
  8. I see a defense that is fundamentally different from last year's, stats be damned. They swarm. They hit hard. They tackle well. They pressure the QB, cause a lot of negative plays, cause a decent amount of fumbles, have come in clutch in two games, and are tops in interceptions. A big problem has been a few big plays given up every game, and the fact that the offense more often than not can't stay on the field. Once the offense ticks, this D will too. This defense just feels right. They are on the verge of being elite.
  9. Gutsy. I loved it. Receivers are a lot more expendable than running backs. That said, how come we aren't using Easley? Looked good in preseason.
  10. I think the first play was the deciding factor on letting Thad the Impaler run anymore. He'll be feeling that rib cracker in his sleep.
  11. She's not impressed either. http://venessalewis....jpg?w=432&h=383
  12. I hope this is true. I wonder, though, whether that is wish wash. Athletes are competitors. Do they really just say "screw it" when they don't have a "culture of winning"? Is not thinking of consequences really the magic bullet to erase 13 years of a so-called "losing culture"? Or is it simply a blend of better talent and coaching? I do remember reading similar stories about Chan Gailey's squad being different from the previous squad in that they "expected to win". That expectation turned into reality only 40 percent of the time. Is the not thinking of consequences approach better than the expecting to win approach? Also, know that Brown, whom I think does a fine job for the job he has, is employed by the Bills organization and is 50 percent reporter / 50 percent PR guy. On the fence on this, slightly on the doubt side -- smacks of an empowerment seminar -- but want to believe.
  13. Forget pm. I'd be happy with just a few games on TV. We haven't had one in Atlanta except for TNF. The Steelers have literally been on EVERY freaking week. Mindless programming.
  14. No, the 1-5 Steelers needs to have a primetime game every week.
  15. I know, right? The guy hasn't done jack for this team since being picked up.
  16. Since it's mandatory to high step and forward flip into the endzone, and Kyle Williams can't high step, or flip, he just fell on it. The thought did go through his head, though...for a second.
  17. Now if Brees, Colsten, Sproles, Peyton and Ryan all get the swine flu and the clap, we should be golden.
  18. Maybe they can make it the size of a basketball. He can bat down every ball that comes his way.
  19. He's a menacing specimen, especially when healthy. Not the kind of guy running all over the place making plays. But that's OK. Alonso fits that role. Straight on bull rusher and ball buster. If he stay healthy, he'll be worth all the coin.
  20. The Bills in this game, and all games this year, lacked rhythm on offense and relied on a play here and a play there to advance the ball. Don't know why Gilmore is playing. Seems pretty useless with that hand, other than to be a piece of human flypaper that can't really tackle or catch. Other than that, don't understand the negativity here. The team seems really well coached. F. Jackson is a stud. Lewis is playing above expectations. The D is playing like it should've last year. They made big plays in this game when it count, won the turnover battle, and beat a team most pundits didn't think they would.
  21. Agreed. But my major beef are the next year draft threads that come out before we even get to evaluate our current draftees. Someone posted a draft thread the day AFTER the draft!!! Sometimes, you just need to enjoy the here and now. Also, there's no way to even guess where a team is going to be in the draft until at the least midseason. We still don't know. We might win only one more game all year. We might win many more games.
  22. There should be a ban on draft threads until midseason.
  23. I hate breast cancer awareness month. I know, women get it. And die from it. My grandma got it in her 80s. A co-worker of mine got it. I hope no one else I love gets it. Actually, I hope everyone I love doesn't get any disease. Pink shoes, pink socks, pink Niagara Falls, pink this, pink that. They got so silly, the pink flags were causing confusion. I think the football-viewing populace understands. Women have breasts. They can get cancer. It does, no doubt, suck. ALL cancer sucks. ALL diseases suck. Let's end this phony display already. What about brain cancer? And lung cancer? And the uber preventable prostate cancer? MS? ALS? Mental disease? Obesity? Because of good marketing, us fans have to endure four weeks of Pepto Bismol?
  24. Lynch is a special runner, and we never used him right. But we had Spiller and Jackson. No way we could've used all three effectively. We should've gotten more, but trading him at the time was the right thing. He was the odd man out.
