Bills 5-2 against tough schedule
Just in Atlanta replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who can predict these things. I would've predicted losses against NE and Phili and wins against Cinci and NY. I had predicted a close shootout in KC, when it was a blowout. I thought the Skins were going to murder Fitz and that we wouldn't be able to put pressure on Beck without Williams and Merriman, when, in fact, the opposite happened. We might destroy the Jets and sweep the Pats. We may get slapped by the Fins and Tebowed by the Broncos. It's the NFL, and a bad gameplan, or one poorly executed play (see P. Rivers), can make the difference. Having said that, I think we are more balanced than almost any team now assuming we've A) discovered how to sack QBs and will B) rediscover the deep ball with a healthy Jones. If these things happen, I don't see any reason why we couldn't make it deep into the playoffs. The only AFC team truly better than us, IMO, is Pit. -
I think Chan thinks it's all good. There was a hint of a smile at the presser. Let them show some personality. Chan isn't a control freak like Billicheat or an anything goes blowhard like Sexy Rexy. Perfect group of characters from top down in my opinion.

Completely agree. You echoed my sentiments after seeing the Tebow mocking yesterday and reading their ridiculous comments today. (Like they'd be saying that about Cam Newtwon if he was horrible). Classless. Base. Amateurish. Lame. These clowns won't mock some WR who praises God every time he puts on a jock strap, but they'll mock Tebow for praying on the sideline. Sad, mindless, and it will come back to haunt them. Our team and Detroit's team are years apart in the character column.

Jeez, they looked incredible. On all of our blitzes, the Skins' receivers were still covered. Do we put Dareous in at NT from now on? He looked unstoppable. Is Washington's line that bad or did we all of a sudden discover how to sack quarterbacks with a vengeance?

Quick Impressions of this game...
Just in Atlanta replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Secondary looked stellar. Pass rush rushed big time. Can't judge the run D...the Skins didn't have their RB. Play calling magnificent. Freddie, as usual, delivered. Receivers made it happen. Fitzmagic looked poised and efficient, not great, but good enough. Our deep ball still lacking. Thigpen has no periphial vision. -
Can we ignore the experts from now on?
Just in Atlanta replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, Jerry Sullivan is right sometimes, wrong others, too negative most of the time. But just enjoy the win for 24 hours already. We're in first place, the pundits pretty much universally had predicted us to win, and we just shut another team out. Go Bills. -
I've always liked his work with the Yardbirds. But I have to give an edge to his groundbreaking CD, Odelay. Given these posts, he's apparently quite an accomplished writer too. Impressive. Don't think his quarterbacking abilities will be enough for the Bills, though. 30-14, Buffalo.

Incredible video. Didn't know he played Arena ball too...at $200 a game. Amazing story. -
Fitz has agreed to 6yr 59Mill Contract

Cool. Feels good to have a team with a franchise QB. Now that he's got the franchise tag, other media sites will have to stop calling him Fitzgerald. That's the rule, I think. We can still call him Fitzgibbons, though. -

Thanks for the writeup. Haven't had a chance to watch any Skins football. -

We don't have a pass D? We're No. 1 in takeaways. Don't rely too much on stats. And I really don't think our run D is all that bad. Seems like the stats have gone sour in the last quarter lately. Everything falls back on the lack of a pass rush. Losing Merriman will hurt us in that department. We certainly threw deep the first three games. Everyone was complaining that we weren't running enough. We'll get deep again. Our O line has been in shambles all year. It's done far better than average. I don't expect anything more than a minor, and temporary, downgrade there. Gailey will have this team ready after a bye. -

Seems a bit lofty for us with our injuries--depends as much as what the Jets do as what we do. But the Texans, Chargers and Ravens are beatable if we do get there. I don't see any scenario in which the Ravens win their division. Steelers are rolling right now. And Cinci could actually take the Ravens spot. -

A Plea To Whom It May Concern
Just in Atlanta replied to andrewsz1991's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. Mark Sanchez is an elite QB. Just kidding. Jets' offense sucks. Their D is overrated. And their coach has a foot fetish. We will beat them twice. Three times if it were possible. Jimmy Spag is probably a Bills fan, FYI. Having lived near NYC, even Jets fans aren't that inarticulate. -

Like he, and many other coaches, haven't talked that way before? If we analyze everything we said, and the tone in which we said it, and displayed it to the public for all to hear, you and I probably would apologize at some point too. It's called public relations. By apologizing, and letting his supporters rile the troops up, he looks better. I wish I had audio of my TI in basic training. He kind of hurt my feelings. It still exists. Just not if Google, Apple, Facebook, email marketers, street cams, TSA, NSA, CIA, local police or state police do it. Or smartphones, GPS, FBI, ATF, DEA, IRS... -

Absolutely nothing wrong with this speech. So he yelled and cursed? Big deal. Would I talk that way to kids, or adults, for that matter? No. But everyone has different personalities. I bet even Chan Gailey lets out an occasional rise in tone or cuss word. The taping of an unsuspecting person, in a location that any reasonable person would expect as private--a locker room--and the publication of it online...that is the true offense. It's a violation of privacy in the extreme. Our priorities / standards / ethics are seriously out of whack here. Reminds me somewhat of that gay college kid who committed suicide after his loser roommate posted a video from a hidden cam of him online. The bedwetting PC crowd was obsessed, completely obsessed, over the "homophobic" angle instead of the sickening invasion of privacy that it was. -
peyton manning killed primetime football this year

Miami last week and now this crappy team. Time for flex programming indeed. This is insane. How much ad dollars are they losing on a 62-7 game? -
If you order a Billy Joe Hobert fathead, they pay you $9.99. Now that's a deal.

2011 Dolphins worst team ever?
Just in Atlanta replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Horribly sad team. Completely inept. I tried to force myself to watch the entire Monday night game to no avail. Painful football. Oh, you were talking about the Dolphins? They're pretty bad too. -
are we really that bad of a defense?
Just in Atlanta replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems to me the biggest problem is a lack of a pass rush and the fact that our corners get burnt a lot. Don't really know if that's because of our schemes or not. I think everyone can agree our safeties are incredible and that our tackling has been pretty good. Fix the rush, and our man to man coverage, and this D might be respectable. Add that to an offense that's lighting it up, we have a great shot. -
My gut reaction: 1. The call to throw with 4 minutes to go was absolutely the right one. People calling for us to run must have been Juaron fans. It was just an underthrown ball to our star WR on man to man. Bad throws happen. Dallas played conservative with the lead, it seems, and got bit today. 2. I think Merriman really does have a big impact on our game, despite his lack of sacks. With the addition of having Kyle Williams out, we didn't seem to have any pressure near the line of scrimmage. With their return, I think our rush will get better. Not that it was great to begin with, but at least it was respectable. 3. Our corners seem to both miss a lot of big plays and make a lot of them. Today, it was almost all miss with the exception of two breakups near the endzone. From what I've seen, they seem like the weakest link on this team despite some above-average INTs. 4. We haven't been playing well offensively or defensively in the fourth quarter the past three games. This follows two games in which we were possessed. Don't know if this is a trend or not. 5. Gailey is still the man. I liked the offensive gameplan today. Only thing missing was one crucial underthrown ball, a complete lack of pressure on the opposing QB (hopefully caused by no Merriman or Williams), and our CBs being burned (who also made two key breakups). 6. Fitz is still the man. He's the perfect QB to be running Gailey's system. He will take us to the playoffs. Anything to add?

Dominated in 2nd Half Past 3 Weeks
Just in Atlanta replied to BiggieScooby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope that's not the attitude as we go into the bye and fix our wrongs. Hey, play really really good for two quarters and just hope for the rest. -
Dominated in 2nd Half Past 3 Weeks
Just in Atlanta replied to BiggieScooby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was thinking the same thing. For Oak, NE, we dominated the second half. For the past three, we've been dominated. Don't know what it is, but I do hope we can figure out how to play solid for all four quarters after the bye. -
Is there any doubt we need a FRANCHISE QB ?
Just in Atlanta replied to Reed'scatch83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is there any doubt? Because of two interceptions? And the defense had nothing to do with this loss? Where are we going to find this magical franchise QB? The quarterback patch? We've been waiting around for 13 years for this elusive figure. I'll be grey before this OP is happy. He'll occasionaly throw a bad pass. His deep ball isn't the best. But he's a winner. Not ashamed to use a geeky cliche. Worst thread ever.
