  1. Our offense under Dick would not have been in that situation in the first place. But I can't imagine any coach opting for a TD try against an offense as powerful as the Pats with that little time and being only two yards from the promised land. This team was boring under him, and played uninspired. You could see the level of intensity increase when Fewell, and then Chan, headed the ship. Chan's offense is exciting to watch. Spreads. Stacks. Receivers running all over the place. Finesse running. Bombs. Slants. Wildcat. Competence. Playing to our strengths. Gutsy, but smart, throws. Imaginative play calling. And instilling a winning culture that's palpable. Dick's offense was screens and checkdowns, one almost incapable of big-time rallies, one that loses to the Browns 9-6. Chan has turned a bunch of ragtags into an elite scoring juggernaut capable of beating any team in the NFL.
  2. I was in the Evans camp, yes. But who had Trent OVERrated? He had like four or five good games his entire stint in Buffalo. I was shocked this team started him last year, and I remember others being, too. Even when he had this team 4-0, I remember thinking "He's not exciting, and I can't believe defenses haven't figured out how to stop his screen passes, but I'll take it."
  3. Turning Point 1: When Dicky J, the worst coach this team has had in my football watching life, was fired in Week 11 of the 2009 season, and Fewell took over. You could see the players playing differently under him right away....more inspired. Turning Point 2: Hiring Chan. I wish we kept Fewell as DC, but it is what it is. Turning Point 3: Edwards gets cut after Game 2. Don't know who made the decision to start him or why, but jettisoning Edwards was huge. They were instantly better--inspiring--when Fitz took over. Turning Point 4: All those OT losses to good teams in 2010. Turning Point 5: Eradicating the stench of the awful last decade with new unis that don't look like Arena League unis. Turning Point 6: Carryover from the same offense last year and plugs to our weakest hole: Defensive front 7 in the offseason. Turning Point 7: Beating the Pats.
  4. Wouldn't really call it burnout. But I've been so starved for media attention on this team, I've been consuming every story I could due the attention we've been getting these past two weeks. I'm now at the point, OK, I can't read anything more on how Fitz graduated from Harvard. I will be waiting for the next story on how the Bills are 4-0, though. I'll read/watch as many as I can on that. If you call someone stupid, at least know how to spell. Go Bills.
  5. One of the worst calls I've seen in recent memory. However, if you recall, the next play we got an INT.
  6. Nobody slays the dragons like the... Not quite as good of a ring, but I'll take it. Rock on, what a game. We did slay a dragon today.
  7. That would be us. We. The Buffalo Bills. Enjoy it kiddies. WE all deserve it.
  8. Was there last week. I can believe it. Great fans there.
  9. The Bills, and the Bills nation, are we to me. I spend my time, money and emotion on this team, as do most others. Without "us," the team would not exist. Other teams, and their fans, are "they" and I see no problem with that.
  10. The Bills are getting coverage everywhere, it seems, except Albany.
  11. May I offer better alternatives to whining and sending her nasty emails? Send her an Albany Bills Backers shirt with (happy) personal messages to her written on it from all the members. If the Bills win, send her a blown up picture of a Bill scoring or Brady being sacked...with personal notes from members on the back...or maybe email her a video of fans celebrating in the local sports bar. Write a parody op-ed...seriously, that ought not to be hard...this column was ridiculous. Cancel your subs. Not because of this silly columnist, but because the paper apparently doesn't cover its own state's team. Or, in what could be the worst punishment, ignore her.
  12. Pinhead, snotty column all the way. No. 1, it's a poor journalism/business decision not to cover the Bills, a team with some of the most devoted fans in the NFL, when your paper is just a few hours from the city. No. 2, the paper has less than 100K circulation, is struggling with ad revenue, and had to accept voluntary layoffs recently. She's acting as if Bills fans are trying to get coverage in The Wall Street Journal, which, by the way, does cover the Bills. No. 3, she's clearly trying to be funny...I hope you all see that. Only thing, it comes off badly. All in all, it's just lame to bash this fanbase that has stuck with this team for so long...and an 82 year old woman. On another note, the response by the Albany Backers would have been substantially better, and would have had far more impact, with humor or sarcasm. To take that silly column, from a parenting blogger, so seriously completely makes her point. Humor is your best weapon against this nonsense.
  13. First two predictions, based on my exclusive formula , were right. This one will be, too. Passing: NE + 17 Running: Buff + 7 O-line: NE + 7 ST: Buff + 3 Pass rush: Even Run D, middle: NE + 3 Run D, edge: Buff + 3 Pass D, deep: Buff + 3 Pass D, short: Even Injuries: Even Home Ad: Buff + 3 Good looks: Buff +1 Fate on our side, finally: + 8 Bills 28 Pats 27 Actually, it is logical. We will never beat the Pats until they lose to us. Then, and only then, will we win.
  14. Oh hell ya. Thanks for posting. Folks, that was six years ago. Our time has come.
  15. Pay the guy. At 30, given his lack of play, he is in his prime.
  16. Do you all think anyone outside the marketing dept reads this board? I'm honestly very curious.
  17. Marcell is hungry. He wants a Brady sandwich. Someone feed him, please.
  18. Saw a gameday thread comment with some fan calling Gailey a "witch" for what he pulled off in the second half. I don't know how he's pulling this off. To make adjustments like that in one half, with this group of no-names, and to put up a touchdown on every single drive...against a Front 7 of that caliber? Further, it's all we heard this off-season--how putrid the line was. I believed it. But I still don't know how this group has protected Fitz so well, and opened up so many holes. Who are these guys? We lose Urbik...and some guy named Rhinehart comes in, and seems to play brilliantly--against a team that was supposed to smash us in the face on the line? I loved Gailey's postgame interview. Almost shrugging, he was like "If they can score that many we can. Just go stop em and score three times...All you got to do is get caught up." That's all. How refreshingly different from the stone-faced Jauron saying, "It's tough to win in the NFL." The way that offense came out in the third, I could feel the confidence, even though I was watching the game in a Manhattan Bills Backer bar with a bunch of raucous fans. I believed in the comeback, I imagine the same way Pats fans have felt for 10 years. Despite having lost Roscoe to injury, Easley to sickness and Evans to the Ravens, I'm not even worried about who our fourth WR is. Gailey has something up his sleeves, I'm sure. For the first time in a long time I have confidence in this team. You?
  19. Raiders fans are usually obnoxious. You, sir, are not. Great report. Didn't know about the pass D.
  20. Tangibles: A better passing game. A complicated defensive scheme that will confuse Cambbell. A decent secondary, and weak opposing QB, that will allow us to stack the box and better defend their stout running game. Intangibles: Our QB is smarter. Course with the 6 Wonderlic that Campbell got, that's barely literate. It doesn't take a genius to run an offense, but I do believe you have to be more than literate. Continuity at head coach. The Ralph will be rocking. Just wanted to repeat that. What we have to worry about: Seymour. The dude, and much of their front 7, are scary. We have to stop him, or Fitz has to get rid of the ball quickly. Can our line handle this? Dual speed/power running game. I do worry about the latter. Janikowski. That's really a half worry. I think our positives outweigh theirs and their negatives are more numerous. The Bills ARE going to be 2-0.
  21. I hear Fitz, or MC Amish as he's known in the hip hop world, produced it.
