  1. What are the chances that Watson feels bad for screwing over the Browns with his absurd contract and lack of availability to play? Yes probably wishful thinking that he even slightly cares. If he had the slightest shred of accountability he would cut the Browns a deal and retire. What a disaster!
  2. I think this game will be more difficult than the Bills are anticipating and they cannot take the Broncos lightly. Payton is a savvy coach and the game last year with a declining Wilson and a great game plan was able to defeat us. That to me is my big worry. McD has shown several times in the past 7 years that he can come up with a brilliant game plan that the team executes to perfection, the Pats playoff blowout is a good example. But what scares me is when this coaching staff comes up with a dud like the Cincy playoff game. So which version of McD is going to show up on Sunday?
  3. The only way the Bills win the SB is if this offense keeps rolling. We dont have a defense this year that gets stops on 3rd down, let alone 3 and outs. The defense though is surprisingly good at getting INTs and recovering fumbles (Near the top on INTs and #1 for fumble recoveries). We are middle of the pack for most other stats. But we are playing the big boys now and we need to be almost flawless. It will be excruciating to watch if our defense dies by a thousand cuts in their soft zone against good teams. I would love for our defensive coaches to try and mix it up with the schemes in these games. I would also love to see our pass rush come together to force these good playoff Qbs into some bad decisions.
  4. I think a lot of long time Bills fans (me included), carry a fair bit of emotional baggage. Winning a SB would exorcise it!
  5. Kelly was done at that point. The only reason we still had confidence in the team was that even an almost washed Jim Kelly was still superior to most Qbs in the league at that point. But in retrospect, all the signs were there. This was the only Bills playoff game I have ever been to. My friends I was with were enjoying copious beverages in the pregame but I had to take it easy being the driver. I do remember the sickening realization when Kelly was injured and fumbled (which was not a fumble) that they were going to lose. TBH they had this game and all the momentum and couldn't close it out. It was a terrible drive home in silence after that game!
  6. I had some hope that the Steelers could upset them but the last 2 weeks, the Steelers have looked brutal. That end of the game vs the Bengals was an exercise in bad decision making and coaching.
  7. You may be right. We desperately need a big play guy on defense to replace the lost playmaking of Poyer, Hyde and Milano. Hamlin definitely isnt that guy but the problem is I dont think Bishop is either.
  8. The NFL is a league of 2nd and 3rd chances for Coaches who should have never gotten a first chance.
  9. Tyrod getting us to the playoffs and overcoming the massive disrespect of being benched by McD for Nathan Peterman (who threw 5 picks) was a feat! I will always have a soft spot for him!
  10. Shavers first catch and first TD!!! and Trubisky just threw a TD!!!
  11. We have been the beneficiaries of the some really soft penalties today. But after years of getting ripped off, I will take it!
  12. Was that an old school "piling on" penalty?
  13. The lame unnecessary roughness penalty on Rodgers was payback for the lame one we got sacking him in the first game.
  14. Good throw? a 12 year old kid could have hit a receiver that wide open.
  15. 3 guys wide open on that play, bad pass by Rodgers!
  16. He was on the cover of Sports illustrated and I always remember the "Can he take a hit" part of the article. If memory serves he was gimmick that didnt last that long. https://vault.si.com/vault/1982/04/26/but-can-he-take-a-hit
  17. I must admit I didn't think much of Andy first time I laid eyes on him; looked like a stiff breeze would blow him over. That was my first impression of the man. Hey that Shawshank quote works for our defense too! I mean our "defesne"!!
  18. Sounds like a complicated system of Mathematics. Or one of those eastern sounding guitar scales.
  19. He wasnt one of my favorites here, but compared to what we have seen in the past few weeks, he was a few steps above in his prime.
  20. Yesterday's game didnt do anything but bolster the idea that Stroud and the Texans are soft. The Ravens bullied them all game and after that 4th down stop on the goal line before halftime, The Texans just folded physically and emotionally.
  21. Completely forgot about this guy and his short lived drama.
  22. HOF tight end left 10 yards open. Steelers are a team of morons.
  23. I agree, its both the scheme and the talent. Soft zone is fine with a dominant consistent pass rush, but we havent had any of that recently. So we just get picked apart with receivers running wide open with no DB within 5-10 yards. Even an elite group of Dbs could not close on a receiver that wide open fast enough. To make matters worse the current db group seem to lack ball awareness and game intelligence. They rarely turn around on coverage and never anticipate or jump a route. This is what losing Poyer, Hyde and Milano in their primes has done to us. Elam to me looks like a Db that has all the tools but cannot seem to read the play fast enough. Bishop shows promise but then looks lost at times. What especially bugs me is Mcd's penchant for staying the course on a scheme that isnt working (like his soft zone) instead of switching to man . Is this current Db group just not capable of switching on the fly? Or would they be even worse in man? As for the defensive line, they need to be better, the pressure has sometimes been non existent and the tackling when Qbs like Goff and Stafford were bottled up has been hit and literally miss.
