TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?
Livinginthepast replied to Billyhouseman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nice to see the Jets put the Texans away, but what a horrible game for both teams. I shake my head wondering how we blew it against the Texans. Coaching blunders, the Diggs effect? Josh having his worst game? But even with those 3 factors, the Texans looked so bad last night and Stroud so ordinary. -

This game is not NFL quality. The fumbles, incompletions and bumbling offenses on both side combined with that bonehead dropping the ball before he crossed the goal line had made it unwatchable. It really resembles a bad preseason game. -
My friends and I used the word Spaz (also Spazoid) regularly as 13 year olds in the early 80s to mock each other after an inevitable act of uncoordination or to describe an angry teacher! who would get riled up for nothing. Its kind of odd to use it to describe Josh though, Sugar high I get, but spaz doesnt work for me!

Dabol got a bit full of himself as a QB mentoring guru with Josh and and has no wizardry with Jones. The Giants would be a decent team with Flacco or Winston or even a guy as washed as Andy Dalton. Too bad for them that the Commanders got Daniels.

Have Bills ever won a game on a Hail Mary?
Livinginthepast replied to pennstate10's topic in The Stadium Wall
I watched this clip a few years ago and when I saw it I racked my brain as to why I only had a vague memory of it happening. Even as a kid I used to watch the Bills every week back then. The 1980 season was awesome and so was this season (1981) but thanks for explaining the blackout. I should have been watching on CH2 NBC out of Buffalo back then but the NFL's draconian blackout rules put the kibosh on that. I probably saw the highlights on the 6pm news that night. Too bad, an awesome piece of Bills history, would have loved to have seen it live. -
Oddly, I was telling my kids about the misses in the Bills drafts because they asked me about Brady (prompted by him being a commentator yesterday). That of course prompted me to say " gather around kids and I will tell you the story of the legend of JP.Losman. A player whose last name foreshadowed his career".

Week 8 - Bills @ Seahawks - post game thread
Livinginthepast replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
A great game yesterday but my favorite part was our fans at the end filling the lower sections. They literally owned that stadium ! Great job!! -

No field awareness by Codrington on that punt return attempt. Let it bounce into the endzone. -
Not sure if this question was asked on this thread but will the new stadium design have any effect on the neutralizing the often unpredictable winds in Orchard park? Or is it going to be the exact same? When I was at the stadium last week for the first time since 2010 I had several flashbacks to previous visits where the wind would change several times in the game.

Thursday Night Football - Vikings at Rams
Livinginthepast replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is literally no way that #3 Official doesnt see that facemask. The dangerous jerking of Darnold's helmet makes it really obvious. The only way the head would jerk like that from facing forward to the side is because the facemask was pulled. Not possible otherwise. Saying that you didnt see it is basically admitting you are blind and should not be an official. Its also admitting you have no understanding of how a helmet works or physics -

Exactly! He knew he messed up with the facemask then he got a reprieve from the inept officials. Unbelievable. -

Watched the end just now. Was a pretty entertaining game but that facemask that wasnt called has to be one of the missed calls of the year just like Josh's horsecollar uncalled vs the Eagles last year. But what is the point of an eye in the sky ref if something that isnt immediately reversed? One of the most blatant and dangerous plays in the game and the officials miss that? HOW????? I guess the NFL will say that the eye in the sky cannot call an uncalled penalty but can only reverse a called flag? You need a challenge system 1X a half for coaches on either bad penalty calls or really bad missed calls. CFL does this and it works great. If a coach gets it wrong they lose a TO. If they have no TOs then they cannot challenge. -
Interesting observation, I have thought the same thing. He looks stronger, bigger and faster than at any time before in his career. When he gets up to speed its as if he has a "Nitrous switch" on his engine to boost him this year. Like the sprinter Ben Johnson back in the late 80s when he was jacked on Stanozolol.

Schefter: Metcalf considered “week to week”

Whoever did the surgery on his knee back then must have been the best of the best. Still gross watching that injury 2 decades later. -

Its odd looking back at this talented Bills team in 2004 and the fact that they still missed the playoffs. And the last game of the season against the Steelers backups may be one of the worst regular season chokes in Bills history. McGahee had decent career after such a catastrophic injury in the bowl game, I wonder how his knee is these days? -
I miss Daboll challenging our offense with complicated plays and deceiving defenses with motion. I also miss the gadget plays because our offense in 2020 and 2021 was so good at executing them. Our offense under Daboll was so fun to watch but Dorsey was painful. Brady is inbetween but has had some Dorsey moments already this year.
