  1. If Wade Phillips were the head coach he would ride Orton and then switch to EJ for the playoffs.
  2. Without a doubt Orton. We all thought he would pull it out against KC. He gives us the best chance to win. If the Bills get eliminated from the playoffs then EJ. Only because they need to see if he has learned anything from the sidelines.
  3. If it weren't for the hundreds of thousands of dollars these guys are paid I would agree. I get it that a guy plays in the NFL and then he doesn't and its a big letdown.
  4. I live in Southern California and the Chargers defense has been in a downward spiral the last three games, especially the last two. The Bills played them when they were firing on all cylinders. If Orton had been the QB the Bills would have beat them. We will find out if the Bills are contenders over the next few weeks when they go head to head with the teams they are locked in a playoff battle with.
  5. I agree. This team still can be 10-6 and make the playoffs. At the start of the season most would have put them at 3-3 after six games. Even with the turnovers I felt they were playing even up with the Patriots through the first half. I am more disappointed with the defensive letdown in the second half than anything else.
  6. This game was hard to watch. The offensive line seems to be the weak link for the offense. Watkins had no effect on the game. Makes me think the Bills should have drafted line help instead of Watkins.
  7. This game was hard to watch. With an offense, or should I say with a Quarterback, the Bills should have had a commanding lead by halftime. At the very worst it should have been 10-0 at the half. They should have been able to run out the first half even if they didn't score. If Manuel looked like he was improving it would be better, but he looked bad.
  8. Without a doubt the run defense made a difference in this game today. The Dolphins never crossed mid field until the second half.
  9. Sullivan is negative most of the time but if you look at the Bills history for the past 14 years its hard to not be. The same thing for the Sabres the past 6 years. Mostly negative stuff. If he put a positive spin on it he'd be called a "Homer" or on the Bills & Sabres payroll. Most sports writers are skeptical and try to cut through the spin the teams put on everything. Good for them. If the Bills make measureable progress he will write about it. I hope the Bills are for real. There is nothing like success to shut up the critics.
  10. It was hot today in San Diego. There has been a heat wave out west for the past four days. The stadium is several miles from the coast. I beileve 120 on the field could have been accurate. This is a winable game. It will be closer like the Bears game. It should be a great test. Most polls had the Chargers in the 10th or 11th spot.
  11. I don't know about the bull fight but this is correct. The Chargers attendance is related to their success. If they stink they won't sell out the stadium. In 2012 they had four of their eight games blacked out. Last year when the put up a playoff run only one of the eight was blacked out. I don't know about Oakland but they don't sell out the Coliseum. I think they tarp off the upper deck. Hockey with the Kings & Ducks fills the fall NFL void for Los Angeles. And it is correct there is no public money for stadiums and never will be.
  12. It will probably be the Chargers or Raiders or both going to the Los Angeles. The Chargers are in a position to leave San Diego and the Raiders are year to year in Oakland. Both teams are only commited to stay through the 2014 season. There isn't any public support to build a new stadium for the Chargers and I doubt they could get it. The Chargers have a lot of fan support throughout Southern California, outside of San Diego.
  13. Maybe they can trade him for a fourth round draft pick and then watch him play for the winning team in the Super Bowl.
  14. And against a franchise QB who was coming off a history making season. If you look at the QB stats for Manning and Wilson you would think the score was reversed. And look at all the fancshise QB's who didn't make it to the Super Bowl like Brees, Rodgers, RIvers and Brady. You need a whole team of contributors anchored by a solid defense more.
  15. Brandon will tell us they are going to do an exhaustive search and leave no stone unturned to find the best DC possible. Then they will announce it is someone already on the staff. And another year of no playoffs begins.
  16. Wilson & Kapernick are solid but only time will tell if they are great and trully franchise QB's. Kapernick killed his team in the second half. Both interceptions were from poor choices. Wilson made his share of mistakes as well. It still comes down to defense to will a championship. Denver's D stepped up today against the Cheatriots and Peyton Manning, who is trully a franchise QB, was great again. I think Denver will be a heavy favorite and will beat Seattle. They have the whole package. Solid offense, special teams, defense and coaching. It doesn't get any better than that. And just two years ago they barely made the playoffs at 8 - 8.
  17. This sums up the Bills, especially the comment about Byrd joining that list. Spiller will be on it as well. This team doesn't have a history, outside of the late 80's and early 90's where it keeps key players and builds a team around them. They should have kept Lynch. He was a stud and he still is a stud. He makes Wilson a better QB. Seattle built an offense around him and added a solid defense to go with it.
  18. You might be the only one not watching the playoffs. I watch the games that interest me and root for any team playing the Patriots. Since I am out west I will root for the Chargers and 49ers.
  19. So much for Dalton being a Franchise QB. The second bone-headed pick this half.
  20. No excuses. The Bills stink. I live in Southern California and I can smell them all the way out here.
  21. We need to stay the course. Think about it. Just in the last two weeks the team shot itself in the foot with boneheaded fumbles and penalties. Take those away and you have two wins. Lets fixt the offensive line, receivers and tight end and see what things go from there. Its too soon to throw EJ out and Marrone isn't going anywhere for at least two years.
  22. The defense has been decent. The offense has made a ton of mistakes and hasn't moved the ball. They keep giving Tampa a short field.
  23. Take away the penalties, interceptions and fumble and the Bills have played a mediocre game. I am thinking 4 - 12 is very likely. This is the easy part of their schedule and they flat out are not ready to play football.
  24. As for Stevie, apparently he needs to hear more criticism this week.
  25. They need to sign Byrd to a long term deal. The guy is a playmaker.
