  1. I think it’s more complicated than that. Market price is whatever somebody is willing to pay. I can’t imagine we left a much better deal on the table and took the KC deal. If they stayed true to their board, White was the get all along, or a group of players that they knew would be there. Then getting any return was better than staying put. I doubt we turned down 100 second rounders like the Jets just gave/ last years value is last years value. This years is this years. History will move the needle a little bit, but not a ton. I understand what you’re saying. I’m more upset that they trusted the scouts for the rest of the draft, but not a QB selection, on what I would guess was waiting for their new GM/scouting staff. We could have bled the roster the same as we did this year, gotten all the picks, and let Mahomes or Watson sit for a year, and used this draft to stock up.
  2. We really don’t know enough about Mahomes or Watson to know how they are as long term pro’s. Flacco belongs in the Hall of Pretty Good. That’s not too crazy
  3. In theory, Dawkins was supposed to brought in as RT, but played well at LT when Cordy went down. Instead of creating depth, or moving Dawkins back to RT this season, we let Cordy go via trade. I’ve been beating the drum this past year that McBean and Co. are really rolling the dice with their personnel decisions. I will forget all of it if we come out of this draft with a franchise QB because it’s the most important position in sports. If we trade and cut half the roster, and get blocked out of the top of the draft/don’t solve the QB position, I think that Beane at the very least, put himself in the hot seat. I really dislike the Darby trade. Iffy on the Glenn trade if that pick doesn’t garner us the QB of the future.
  4. Not just name a stud, do you think the Packers would trade Aaron Rodgers for the entire Minnesota defense? Absolutely not. It’s the the most important position in sports.
  5. That does not really change anything though. Whaley could still have wanted to grab Watson, and was over ruled by Pegs or McD to trade down, even if it was 5 days prior.
  6. Wasn't it reported that Whaley wanted to draft Watson?
  7. There are a few red flags in this. Normally the taking snaps from shotgun thing in college is overrated, but NOT when you have bad footwork. Everything in the NFL is based on footwork. It is a big deal. The intermediate throws and willingness to leave a dirty pocket are also red flags for me.
  8. There seems to be a lot of traded players starting for other teams. The FO is taking quite the gamble the last 10 months or so.
  9. This. I am never a fan of dropping talent, just to add talent. He has a lot riding on this draft, at least for me, because as of today, this roster is worse than the one he inherited. I guess that’s by design but it is a risk. We still eat eat a bunch of dead money for Dareus. I don’t get it still. Also not thrilled with the Darby trade either. We got not a whole lot in return for that one. This draft for me is dependent on getting a QB.
  10. I mean onbbiously not, his math has Russ Brandon as the greatest GM the Bills have had in 30+ years. In what world is Sammy Morris a miss...
  11. Whelp, that escalated quickly. Also youre now on a list somewhere...
  12. Good topic. Lately John Murphy keeps saying “well how are we worse than last year.” It’s driving me crazy, because I don’t think we were good, and pretty flawed. If we played that season over again, the odds of us finishing worse than 9-7 are pretty high. I expect a step back to reality next season.
  13. Roster/Depth wise we are in a worse spot than we were 2 years ago. This team might miss the playoffs the next 2-3 years regardless if we trade up. For the first time in my lifetime, the Bills had most of the calls go their way. That is how we got to 9-7 and backed into the playoffs. We could have easily been a 6 or 7 win team. We need a QB in a bad way, and we have since Kelly. If the FO believes a player can be the guy for the next 10 years, nobody will care what we give up for him. Go get him
  14. This. ^^^ Whaley could be a mediocre GM exacerbated by poor leadership from the head of the franchise. Whaley May also have been a very good to great GM hampered by poor leadership from the head of the franchise. There is one common thread in the Whaley era, and it’s basically Brandon and/or Pegula sharing football operations in terms of coaching. Because of that I won’t ever fault Whaley as being a bad GM, because he did find talent, and left the roster more talented than he found it. That doesn’t mean he was necessarily good or even great. It meant he served his role with handcuffs, and we will never actually know. I’m more PO’d at Pegula/Brandon for their management at the time.
  15. Go check out his threads on historical GM grades. He isn't about the conversation. He just creates threads and shuts down dialogue. This is just another in a long list.
  16. Please. The Bills might not make the playoffs next year even if the roster stayed exactly the same as last year.
  17. All the talk about getting it done now is silly. The Giants want to wait to see what happens with #1 first. Draft day is going to be bonkers for everybody.
  18. If he does that, and McCarron isn’t THE GUY, then OBD will be quitting on Beane and McDermott.
  19. He is a better passer than Tyrod. We will see if that makes the offense better. But it doesn't take much. Being a better passer may not back the LB and CB's off enough to open more running or throwing lanes. We shall see.
  20. Sounds like we are actually on the same page for the most part. Cheers friend!
  21. Physiology is absolutely not a joke. It is a very real study of science and the body. I wouldn't go to a doctor who thought otherwise. Again, for those in the back. Some Universities and con artists will take your money for a BS degree, or month long online course to give you some BS certification, that nobody in the field respects. But you can work at your local gym and call yourself a trainer of some sorts.
  22. At the risk of sounding snarky, you probably do not interact much with high end physiologists. Because what the study is supposed to be, and what comes out of some universities, are two very different things. What you are describing is more akin to the difference between a nutritionist and a dietitian. You or I can be a nutritionist in about a month online, but a dietitian has an incredibly strong background in science.
  23. Jesus, what a joke. I know tons of people with that degree coast to coast, and that wasn't anywhere near their class schedule. Just at a quick glance from UB Pre-Req's, those courses are harder, and that is just to be in the program. https://sphhp.buffalo.edu/exercise-and-nutrition-sciences/education/exercise-science-bs/prerequisites.html An aside, the USA has a real issue with physiology and exercise science, and it largely stems from football culture. The Australians, Swiss, Brittish, and Germans, do a far better job then we do.
  24. Unsure what goes on in Exercise Science at Bama. But it is actually an incredibly difficult field, following a similar track to pre-med/bio and requires gross anatomy. Might want to remove that one.
