Bills trade with Browns for Corey Coleman
Wayne Cubed replied to 17islongenough's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean the Browns drafted Coleman and then gave him: Kizer RGIII McCown Kessler As his QBs, one could argue the QB was never there, nevermind the mental bit. -

So does anyone happen to know if Coleman is a "loser"? Thought the Bills were dumping losers. -

I like this trade a lot, low risk. Man those targets are awful... just awful. Don't know how you could determine much from Coleman when you can't even get close to a reasonable pass. -
Can we afford to carry 3 active QB’s all season?
Wayne Cubed replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's an interesting question. As a "vet" what does he actually bring? He has 1 year in the league and is learning a brand new offense, just like the other 2 guys. So he doesn't really bring experience with the system and he doesn't bring years of experience and prep that McCarron does. Once the season starts, if he were the #2 and Allen the #3, he'd also be taking the limited amount of practice reps away from Allen, where Allen could be learning. I'd say he's more likely to be cut than starting. -

Been saying I think they end up only keep 2 on the 53 and possibly getting Peterman to the PS. Does anyone think if they get down to their 3rd QB the Bills can't go dumpster diving and find someone serviceable? Hell the Bills were able to trade Chris White for Thad Lewis on the eve of the 2013 season, drop him and stash him on the PS, and he came in and went 2-3, which for a 3rd QB, is not bad. Is it important to the have 3 QBs in the QB room? Sure but I don't think you need to have all 3 on the active roster. The only reason the Bills had 3 last year is the 3rd QB had a big role on ST. I think it's entirely possible to get Peterman onto the PS. -
DR Goes Camping (Practice #6 Report)

Sounds like KW is having himself a practice... lots of sacks, which also means Ducasse is having a horrible practice. -

Allen already a factor in QB race ?

I think he was always going to be a factor with McCarron and Peterman as the competition. If the idea was to red shirt him for a year they should have gone harder after the likes of McCown, but they didn’t. Which says a lot, I think. -

Julio Jones is not going to report to Camp.
Wayne Cubed replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not caught up on anything. I'm explaining to you how if they want to just "flip some money to guaranteed" that has dead cap ramifications. Which is why the Falcons MAY not want to do it, IF they are looking to sign other players. What don't you understand about that? Converting non-guaranteed to guaranteed money ties that money to the Falcons salary cap for future years. The Falcons currently have $0 committed to Jones and that money isn't tied to the future salary cap. 2018 guaranteed money: $0 and a cap hit of $4.8m if cut before Week 1. 2019 guaranteed money: $0 and a cap hit of $2.4m if cut before Week 1. 2020 guaranteed money: $0 and a cap hit of $0 if cut before Week 1. His camp has also, AT NO TIME, mentioned that he wanted to be paid like Watkins or Cooks on a yearly basis, so there's that. His cap hit this year is $12.9m IF IF IF IF he's on the roster after Week 1. If he gets injured in camp the Falcons CAN cut him and not pay him ANY money. -
Julio Jones is not going to report to Camp.
Wayne Cubed replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope, wrong again, 'bud'. His salary does not count against the cap, as a vested veteran, until after Week 1. If they did cut him before Week 1 he would count $4.8(dead money) against the cap. I don't know how many different ways I can explain this to you but his money for 2018 IS NOT GUARANTEED. Meaning its not counting against the cap until after Week 1. He could get hurt in camp and the Falcons could cut him and owe him nothing. The $4.8m is only what is being counted against the cap in terms of dead money. This is true for the final remaining years of his contract as well. Why should he show up to camp without any money guaranteed? You can't "just flip some money" to guaranteed and keep the same cap hits, because that money for next season... doesn't count against the cap yet. That's not how it works, at all. If they wanted to give him more money now, that requires converting the money to a signing bonus, which has dead cap ramifications past this season. Again, if the Falcons plan on extending other players and this cuts into their cap space for extending these players then they may not want to "just flip some money" to guaranteed. -

Wayne Cubed replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uh, nope I actually didn't. If Julio wants guaranteed money that money needs to come from somewhere on the salary cap. He has $34.5m left on this contract, only $4.8m of that money is counted against the cap(dead cap). The Falcons could cut him right now, and have little cap ramifications. The money only counts against the cap on DAY 1 of the regular season, as a vested veteran. He can literally blow out his knee and the Falcons can cut him and not pay him any of that $34.5m. To guarantee some money and give him more this year and next lets say, not more than the amount of the contract, so take that $34.5m and convert it to a signing bonus so he averages $17m a year. That requires reworking of the cap because that money comes with dead cap ramifications. And if the Falcons plan on signing other players to contracts, they may have ear marked that cap space for them. See how that works? Not MORE money, just more guaranteed money. As a player, as I said before, it's smart business and he should do it. The Falcons KNEW it was coming and the out was always going to be this year. The Falcons are just playing the game and seeing if they can stretch this to another year. -

Wayne Cubed replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except it’s not easy when the Falcons have told him they have other players they want to take care of first. They aren’t going to even talk about his contract with him, they’ve said next year. So again, no easy if the team isn’t willing to talk. -
Julio Jones is not going to report to Camp.
Wayne Cubed replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jones just wants more guaranteed money, which makes a lot of sense from a business stand point. He’s made all the $47m guaranteed money from the current contract. The $12.5m he’s going to get this year isn’t guaranteed until day 1 of the season. The Falcons had to know this was coming and there is an easy solution for this year, which they’ve done already for other players. Convert some of his salary to a signing bonus. -
Always liked the comedies he did in the 80s: The Money Pit Turner and Hooch The Burbs Big Bachelor Party

That list is little bit wrong. Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Jarvis Landy and Jordy Nelson aren't Free Agents in 2019. And I bet money the Giants get a deal done with OBJ.

So before a game is even played... just move on. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.

NFL disperses record shared revenue
Wayne Cubed replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently it's a really difficult concept for some. And when there is no other Broadcast Television or Cable Network preforming as well as the NFL, advertisers aren't going to "go elsewhere." There is no where else to go. -
Should We Make a Run @ Le'Veon Bell in 2019?
Wayne Cubed replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he thinks he deserves what a 3-down slot WR like Landry got. I don’t think the Bills will be willing to give him that.
