  1. Mario Williams cap hit is about the same as Mayo's for next year per WGR.
  2. Or how about an organization that signs over the hill FA and FA projects. Last year it was Ocho Cinco and Albert Haynesworth, how well did that work out? Year before that it was Tory Holt and Algae Crumpler. And the year before that it was Joey Gallaway. The Patriots is where FA WR's go to die. At least they are smart enough not to over pay for them but they don't get nearly enough production from them. So will see how 31 year old Lloyd does and project WR Gonzalez does. Bottom line: Kraft should worry about his own FA signings that seem to not work out.
  3. I can't blame you, I just moved over here to England from the states. It's hard to follow. Along with all these championships, there are about 4 football leagues and teams move up and down depending on how they play during the season. The Barclays Preimership being the highest. Then certain teams play in the champions cup, which I figure is like determining the best team in Europe. But its confusing cause that goes on the same time as their regular matches. Rugby leagues are just as confusing. They switch back and forth between what type of rugby they play. As far as the player you asked about Muamba. From what I can tell he wasn't a dominant player and played on a middle tier type team. But he is respected because from all accounts he's been through quite a bit in his life, being from the Congo.
  4. And that's the problem, not just you specifically, people forget Kyle ha an Achilles problem and had surgery as well. But according to some Kyle is going to come back to form. Well if that's possible, then it's completely possible that Merriman comes back.
  5. They would if they were smart, the salary cap is most likely going to go up next year. In 2014 the TV contract kicks in so the salary cap and player salaries will go up. Look at the break down WGR did, it makes absolute sense. Take the biggest hit when the TV contracts kick in
  6. Again, have said this in multiple threads, just because his payout is 24.9 million this year does not mean that's the cap hit. The cap hit is about 9 million. http://wgr550.com/pages/12570205.php?contentType=4&contentId=10206617 So no, the majority of the cap hit is not this year. They amortize some of the signing bonus over the length of the contract so it doesn't hit all in one year. There is now way with Stevies new contract and Marios and everyone else we resigned this year we would still be $12.9 under the cap. In fact Stevies cap hit is only $4.9 million
  7. From what I've heard it's a 9 million hit this year and to be honest that's perfect. Next year it's 11 million. Again perfect. In 2 years when the TV contracts kick then it takes a big hit on the cap. With caps more than likely increasing in the coming years, the TV contracts kicking in and this new roll over festures what the Bills did spacing out MW contract seems absolutely correct to me.
  8. Totally sour grapes. You can't tell me the patriots don't wish they had MW. Their overall defense was worse than ours and they pass rush was just as awful. The bears seem to be doing fine getting other big name players after they locked up Peppers. They still have elite players all across the team, including QB.
  9. Well WGR listed the contract deals, looks like it will only be about a $9 million cap hit this year, goes up to $11 million next year. So assuming my previous figure of $23 million is correct, subtract the $9 million and it looks like the Bill have about $14 million left over. Plenty of money to shop more FA or extend a Freddie.
  10. Well that number is completely wrong. Wgr has details of the contract. This year its only a $9 million cap hit.
  11. See I thought it might be Williams/Kelsay rotating in and out and then Carrington/Merriman on the right side. Carrington looked pretty good when he played the right side last year.
  12. Stevie looks like he is huge as well lol
  13. Is everyone seriously forgetting that the Bills could also get a very healthy Merriman back. I mean if people are going to sit there and say K. Williams will return to form(had achilles surgry)and get 6 sacks(or 8), why isn't it possible Merriman could come back? personally I think it could look like this: Mario 14 Dareus 5 Williams 5 Merriman 10 Kelsay 6(COMING OFF BENCH)
  14. I've been screaming this since Williams was first brought to town but every here seems to think its going to be Kelsay and Merriman will only come in on passing downs. Personally I think thats BS, the first few weeks of the season Merriman was doing an amazing job of setting the edge in the run. I personally think it'll be Merriman and Williams starting with Kelsay as depth. If Merriman is fully healed, there is no doubt in my mind he starts over Kelsay. He's a much much better pass rusher and personally I think he is better at setting the edge.
  15. I haven't looke recently but we had $32 million rollover and after amonitized bonus's and new deals we signed the Bills are down to about $23 million I believe. IF williams is truly getting $16 million a year, and I believe our cash to cap system is how it will hit our cap,THEN we have about $7 million left over. They'll need to save about 5-6 million for rookies and such. This doesn't take into account cuts, that most certainly will come. Dwan Edwards, who I don't believe fits our new 4-3, could save the Bills about $3 million in cap space. I don't believe the final cap numbers need to be in until at least late August or September, so plenty of time to figure out cuts etc.
  16. Even Joe B says its a BS article. Just because he is scheduled to leave doesn't mean jack. Seriously step back from the ledge. It's a bogus article.
  17. Hahah @PFT article, that is a whole bunch of nothing. So they know he is leaving tonight. Great. But they have no idea what that has to do with him being a Bill or not. If he signs tonight he could leave, if he doesn't sign he could leave... A whole lot of nothing
  18. Joe Buscaglia‏@JoeB_WGR RT @ByTimGraham FWIW, Mario Williams spotted leaving Buffalo Medical Group office this morning. That would seem to be a physical, folks.
  19. Kyle Williams just said on GR that he has a good feeling about M. Williams and WILL see him again today.
  20. As I said in another thread, San Diego overpaid for a player who put up D. Nelson type numbers in the most prolific pass offense ever. Can't blame the Bills for not trying to match or for Meachem takin the deal. M. Williams situation is different because its doubtful anyone will come over the top and offer more money than the Bills currently are.
  21. In all honesty, I'm not upset about Meachem not signing. His situation with the Bills is much different than M. Williams. San Diego was probably desperate for a WR because VJax left. They needed to do something in terms of PR and saving face for the fans. So, they went over the top of the Bills offer(and apparently other teams)and gave Meachem an offer he couldn't refuse. Can't blame him for that. They over paid for a WR who put up D. Nelson type numbers in the most prolific passing offense ever. The Williams situation is much different because the Bills threw the farm at him in terms of money. Its doubtful any team can come over top of the Bills offer.
