  1. Let me ask this, Erick Pears had two holding penalties in one game, effectively killing 2 drives. why isn't anyone complaining about him? Hell I bet you could find 3/4 of the offensive line, with false starts and holding penalties and hands to the face, had more penalty yardage than Stevie. Idk why everyone gets so caught up on the 15 yards. The line certainly has cause drives to stall and we miss out on points. At least his yardage comes after we actually have scored. I'll take that over a holding penalty that takes us out of field goal range or kills a drive.
  2. Not to mention he missed most of training camp with an injury.
  3. Well I suppose they could take a QB, but they have a terrible WR core. Colt McCoy could be given another year, considering this was his first full year at the helm and he was learning a new Pat Shurmer system.
  4. According to ESPN Scouts Inc, he is the #10th ranked player in the draft. I doubt he falls that far. Especially since Cleveland and St. Louis are in desperate need of a #1 WR.
  5. Are you sure the Arizona game is away? It was away in 2008 when we played the NFCE, I thought they switch it up. I went to the Arizona game in 08. The stadium is very nice, but tailgating sucked.
  6. I think that's pretty obvious that if his celebration results in a penalty that it isn't a marketable one. Problem is the league is inconsistent with what they deem a penalty. One year it isnt, and they never told Stevie he should have had a penalty or anything, but then next year it's suddenly a penalty. Stevie goes to celebrate in a way he thought he could, get some attention(which is what most players do) and now it's a penalty. Chan was just as confused about it.
  7. I'm not saying it was a good celebration, one that would do much for him, but I get what they are trying to do. It's entertainment in the end.
  8. To me he always seemed like a 1 trick pony and an average at best route runner. But like you said mayb we will never know because of all the instability around him.
  9. If I'm a player and see the Rodgers and Matthews commercials how do you not want to come up with a good celebration that lands me a commercial. Cause let's face it, football end up being a very short part of a players lives and they are thinking long term. Most think entertainment business.
  10. So Rogers doing the "Belt Move" had nothing to do with his ego? Matthews with his "predator" move has nothing to do with his ego? give me a break. They made freaking commercials for both those moves, that surely got the players more $$, I'm sure every player wishes they could come up with "the move" that boosts their ego and their wallet! Edit: I do enjoy the Matthews commercial, not so much the Rodgers one
  11. Oh oh oh, I got one too!! And how many 1000 yard back to back seasons did he have, no wait that doesn't work... Oh wait... How many double digit TD seasons did he have... Oh wait that doesn't work either... Hmmm I'll have to come back
  12. Cause they gotta be professional! Football is serious! /sarcasm
  13. With the new Nike uniforms, how could you want to miss out on the new memorabilia! Scratch that look at all the deals on the old Reebok stuff!!! See you in the spring!
  14. I thought week 1 he was the reason the Ravens won. He draws all this phantom double coverage. It opened up the pass game.
  15. And yet they have grandfathered in stand jumps, dunking the ball, dancing, spiking the ball. Entertainment is just as much a part of the rules and game. Hence why they are grandfathered in. If they weren't they would just say no celebrations at all.
  16. So out of 96 staring receivers(WR1 & WR2 + TE) just over 15 have 1000 yards receiving. About 15%. Id say that's pretty low and a pretty good yardstick considering its not even close to 1 per team. Not to mention his first two years as a starter and he goes over 1000 each year.
  17. It's called entertainment for a reason. These aren't suit wearing bankers. As stated before, lot of players celebrate! Even the good ones. Do they all get penalties? No. It's called inconsistent. And Chan was just as baffled at the call, you need to watch the PC. If you don't like the "entertainment" you are watching its simple. Change the channel.
  18. +1 Couldnt have said it better. But according to some in this topic, 1000 yard seasons aren't that big of a deal.
  19. +1 This is what I was arguing earlier. It's funny that using the ball(a prop) and dunking it are grandfathered in.
  20. Yea but the problem is consistency. You can't, not call it one time then call it another. How's a player suppose to know? Besides chan himself was annoyed at the call. He just benched Steve because that is the rule he put in place. Johnson said as much, accepted it and is moving on...
  21. Gee i'm pretty sure I pointed out the inconsistencies of the rules earlier. At least the coach agreed.
  22. Agreed. Blackmon is a Beast! He reminds me a lot of another Johnson. Andre that is. Big, physical and fast.
  23. He is an ass clown because he is trying to have fun at a game that you watch for entertainment? Its not life and death over here. Its football.
  24. Thanks, I understand that they are grandfathered in. My point is they are, in essence, props for props sake, are they not. Writing "happy new years" on a shirt does no harm to anyone... yet jumping on some fans very well could. What happens when one fan takes it to far when a player jumps in the stands. The problem is inconsistency IMO.
  25. Well then I blame SJ and myself for not getting that memo. But honestly what consituits a prop. Why isn't a football considered one, when they dunk on the goal post. I didn't start the argument about the celebration, it was about the "me-first" attitude that one poster said doesn't happen on other teams. Which IMO unless the team is doing a line dance together, every celebration is a me-first one.
