  1. I blame the defense. Up 14-0 and they just collapse... Badly. Never should have been that close.
  2. How's that working out for the Redskins? Team is falling apart. Has a terrible OL, WR corp. and a terrible defense. They have no first round pick next year, which would have been really high, possibly in the top 5. Still don't know what they have in RGIII. But yes, by all means, over-invest in a single position.
  3. Me too, especially when they are east coast games.
  4. "Yes but if you have a franchise QB, that's all you need to win. Do whatever it takes to get one." -Mike Shanahan
  5. Wow. I'm not sure if my daughter would ever ask for that but thats good that you did that for him.
  6. I said this same thing couple pages back. When I worked at Best Buy for a couple years, they run the same deals, if not better, in the weekends leading up to Christmas. They'll just change what the deal is offered on. If it's a Toshiba 55" TV that was $499.99 they'll change it to a LG 55" that's $499.99. My question is even if you are Xmas shopping, who's asks for expensive electronics for Xmas? Lets be honest, you're being selfish and buying these items for yourself, not your kids.
  7. Sure the families shopping and camping out together are spending "family" time together. What about the people working? From my days of working retail it definitely wasn't optional. When I was in college and wanted to go home for Thanksgiving, it was a process and my store would only allow 1 or 2 people off. You had to put that in advance months early. All of this for a part-time job. If you couldn't work, you better find another job. And yea there are a lot of families out there, but there are also a lot of complete jerks who are absolutely miserable and make working on Black Friday terrible. Not to mention the fighting and temper tantrums from adult men and women.
  8. I worked retail from age 18-24 and always hated black Friday. I'll never understand why, when we get so few national holidays, people want to spend that shopping and not with their family. Not to mention people have to work in these stores, which means set-up and stocking. Which can run late into Wednesday night and arriving at least 2 hours before the store opens on Thursday/Friday. Another interesting point, when I worked for Best Buy, a lot of the black friday deals would be repeated on the weekends in December leading up to Christmas. They might just change the TV or DVD player that was being offered, but you could get just as good of a deal through the month of December so going in on BF was pointless, I thought. The worst I ever saw was when a gentleman had his son on his shoulders waiting for the doors to open. Well, the doors opened and there was a made dash to get inside. The guy forgot he had his son on his shoulders and ran through the door. WHAM! Son gets clotheslined by the top of the door frame. It was bad.
  9. Agreed. There is no way a coin flip should determine the winner of a NFL game. If thats the way Ross thinks it should be played, why not let the first coin flip determine the game. Games tied at 0-0 to start, first team to score wins.
  10. I'd add to that, that these games in Toronto has to make the NFL a bit cautious that a team would work there. Look at how the Rodgers Centre has looked on game day. I know it's only 1 game a year, but the fans are hardly coming out. One could argue that it's the Bills and they haven't preformed really well. Well, the London game/s, has put some pretty terrible teams on the field and the fans still come out. So much so that they've made it into 3 games a year event. If I was a new NFL owner, I would be very cautious about the Toronto market.
  11. So basically the same situation that's happened in Los Angeles. Lots of talk and designs made etc, but none of it coming to fruition. Count me as a skeptic.
  12. This is a franchise in the UK. It's huge. People can never get enough of it. I like the "chips" with Peri-Peri salt on them.
  13. Well, he certainly has been in contact with the accuser. Winston's DNA matches the DNA found on the accusers underwear, bolstering her claims a bit. Still doen't prove much, but this could have a snowball effect. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10009077/dna-analysis-matches-jameis-winston-accuser
  14. Have your noticed that the words uncatcheable and catchable aren't in the NFL rule book... And they aren't defined. The rule book doesn't have everything in it... There is also this: to judge v. judged, judg·ing, judg·es v.tr. 1. To form an opinion or estimation of after careful consideration: judge heights; judging character. See that word opinion in there...
  15. I'm sorry but I don't need ESPNs analysts OPINION, because that's what is is, to make my mind up. I can do that for myself. At the end of the day it's a refs JUDGMENT or opinion of the play. So no you don't have science behind you because there is in fact no science in this. It's still yours, ESPNs, former NFL refs, the pope, satan's opinion if it was pass interference and I will disagree with you.
  16. I'd like to apologize to Dan Dierdorf.
  17. Except its not BS. Firstly PI, is RARELY called on the last play of the game. Secondly, you can't just dismiss the fact that the Panthers DB was there and that he intercepted the ball. It's an important part of the call. The DB realizes before Gronkowski that the ball is being underthrown, hence why he cuts in front of Gronkowski to catch the ball. At that point there is definitely no PI on Kuechly. Why doesn't Gronkowski break back towards the ball at the same time the DB does? Kuechly wasn't doing anything to interfer with him besides MAYBE some hand jousting. I think it's because he doesn't realize how underthrown it is or he thinks he can't stop his 250lb body/momentum on a dime. Either way, he's too late to make a play on the ball.
  18. If the ball is in the air it can't be illegal contact or holding. It's PI, when the ball is in the air, or nothing.
  19. This is were I disagree, as I have said up thread. The DB realizes it's under thrown before Gronkowski does. By the time Gronkowski realizes it's under thrown it's too late and he's too far away from the ball. This is why the refs rule it uncatcheable. Even if Kuechly isn't there I think Gronkowskis late reaction and momentum makes the ball out of his reach.
  20. ] Exactly. I said that in another thread. If he would have planted and attempted to come back to the ball and Kuechly impeaded that, then he would have got the PI call.
  21. That was my point, he doesn't, he just keeps running upfield. The DB realizes before Gronkowski that the ball is being underthrown, hence why he cuts in front of him. At that point the ball isn't catchable for Gronkowski.
  22. I have looked at the play and GIF, several times. We are seeing different things, because at no point do I see Kuechly "dragging" Gronkowski anywhere. Dragging looks like pulling, where does that happen? Kuechly is behind Gronkowski and I'm not sure how some drags someone forward from behind...
  23. ? Gronkowski just kept running his route. The ball was underthrown by about 3-4 yards. The Panthers DB realizes this and then cuts in front of Gronk to make the play. The DB is already cut in front of Gronk when Kuechly makes contact, meaning, the ball was already uncatchable if Gronk doesn't change his position..... and he doesn't.... he just keeps running. Just because a ball is in the air doesn't mean an offensive guy has to be allowed to catch it. In fact if Gronk stops, trys to move back to the ball, the interence would be correct, IMO. But he made no attempt. How is it that the DB realized the ball was underthrown before the receiver?
