First half thread Bills vs. Bucs
Wayne Cubed replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he did see him, problem was he couldn't do anything. From the angle they showed looked like the receivers hadn't turned to look yet... -

Judging from RedZone looks like EJ completed a 25 yard pass -
Official Pre-Game Thread: Week 14, Bills at Buccaneers

He's the FB/TE they picked up mid-season. Drafted in 2012 by the Bears. He's got lots of speed ran a 4.58 forty at the combine. He's an interesting prospect but has some off the field issues. -

Looks like they want to see what they have in Evan Rodriguez, as he's active. I'm sure he will see some snaps today. -
I got Rivers/Gore. I like it. Although I knew which one was Manuel, I still enjoyed this. It brings perspective to the table which I think some fans lack. They get the highlights from ESPN/NFLN and don't ever get a real look at other teams and how their teams may struggle.

Does anybody care about the rest of the season.
Wayne Cubed replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where does this thinking come from? Seriously? How can someone make such definitive statement? Its funny but just this week Mel Kiper has come out and said he doesn't believe there is a "franchise" QB in this next draft. Not that Kiper is always right, but his opinion does carry some weight. This QB class got extremely over-hyped. -
The Buffalo Bills have a better QB Situation Than...

Not to mention he hasn't played a single down in the NFL, but yes the Texans are ahead because they might draft a guy who has potential. Sound logic there. -
I want answers on phantom call on Williams
Wayne Cubed replied to tedstrong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know this might slow down the game a bit... But why not allow coaches to challenge everything including penalties. Keep the same number of challenges (2) and keep the same rules regarding challenges. Refs often huddle and talk about a call, why not challenge them and make them look at it again, not just talk about it. I don't think you would get coaches throwing the challenge flag a whole lot more considering you wouldn't increase the amount of challenges. They'll still need to be smart about which ones they challenge. In a situation like the one that happened with the Bills or perhaps the one the happened on Monday night a couple weeks ago, those were calls or no calls that could decide the game. Why not make sure you get it right? -
The Buffalo Bills have a better QB Situation Than...

Pretty much this. I think it's hard to know after year 2 as well. Look at Luck and Griffin who have been struggling as of late. Sure they both looked great their first seasons and now, Griffin more than Luck, are looking really bad. Should Washington look for a new QB? What about the struggles of Colin Kaepernick? He looked great last year and has looked very pedestrian this year. People/fans want instant gratification, because they see it happens sometimes. But it's too early to make any sort of judgement. -
Colts to debut South African rugby player at LB
Wayne Cubed replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks like he was formerly playing Rugby Union. It's Rugby League, that more closely resembles American Football, except no forward pass. His transition will be a bit tough, I think. -
Oh really? Then what exactly is it? Because from my book, lineman block differently on run and pass plays. A RB has to go into pass blocking if he isn't getting the ball or he at the very least has to know he isn't getting the ball. WR's have to not block and actually run their routes. So what your saying is a QB can just change to a pass, in his head based on what he see's, without informing his other teammates?

I did click the link and in no part in that article did anything Hackett said prove your point. In fact the parts your bolded and increased the size in your original post, and bolding doesn't make it any more important, were Sal's comments, not Hacketts. Anyways, Bandit has pointed you to 2 articles explaining it was an audible so I don't know where you're are going now.
-
Quoting a sports writer's "opinion" piece does not "make your point." Sal M. is stating an opinion, like you are stating yours. He is as right about Hackett as you are. He has never been been in a NFL organization, so his opinion carries even less weight. I don't understand your crusade against Hackett. Firstly, you stated that Hacket was throwing too much, then it was pointed out that actually he didn't start throwing heavily until the Bills fell behind and that the Bills were still heavily running. You then changed your argument to Hackett is throwing at the wrong times. So now we have you arguing that rookie QB's shouldn't be able to audible. So when should they be able to audible or read defenses? Should Hackett walk out on the field, read the defense for these QB's, then call a play? I'm not sure where you are going with this?

Why isn't anyone talking about Stevie?

Excuses? Look, the guy is a decent WR who made himself a career in the NFL from a very low pick. The guy has worked hard to get here and no player on the Bills roster is without fault, according to fans... apparently have short term memory. It's funny, 3 years ago people were talking about how terrible McKelvin was. Failing in the most crucial situations. Another failed first round draft pick... Now, he can do no wrong. EDIT: to answer your questions, it's a little of all those things but has nothing to do with his immaturity. He should have done a better job protecting the ball and the defensive back made a great play. -

And that fumble was in fact not a result of a good defensive play. Stevie caught the ball and then just fumbled it as immature people do... -

So do we just automatically assume the defensive player didn't make a good play? And just chalk it up to this being Stevie's immaturity? -

I agree with you about not cutting Stevie. I'm not on that train. The defense pissed me off more earlier. They were a complete sieve. I'd be more pissed if I was EJ going up 14-0 and the defense doing nothing to help. Absolutely nothing. The fumbles were just icing in the cake.
