  1. His crap attitude extends to the offseason as well. Great, he was able to control himself for the season, doesn't mean teams still won't question his maturity. As far as reading defenses, I couldn't disagree more. Because of his height he will consistently be compared to Brees and Wilson. Neither of these 2 QB's are the "dual threat" QB that Manziel is. Kevin Sumlin has designed the offense so Manziel doesn't have to win games in the pocket. The way that Brees/Wilson overcome there height a lot is by making lots of pre and post snap reads. They are film room junkies. Manziel has yet to show he can consistently make these types of reads mostly because he'll just take off and run if it gets too confusing. He makes half-field reads. Also his arm is no where near as good as Brees or Wilson.
  2. Manziel wouldn't fit in Buffalo for a couple reasons: 1. He loves throwing the deep "50/50" ball. The Bills don't have a big receiver that can go up for it. Sure they could draft one, but if they go after Manziel chances are they would be missing out on a top receiver. 2. Marrone. No way he'd put up with the Manziel crap attitude and the circus that comes with him. 3. The offense would need a complete overhaul. EDIT: So, if I had the pick. I'd tried to trade it away.
  3. Here's a very telling stat: Number of returns for the season - 23 (lowest total since 1982 when there was 9 games) Wow.
  4. Or he's saying he doesn't see any QB with more upside or talent at the position when they will pick in the draft. Squash the idea that they'll take another QB in the 1st. Which I agree with. Nothing wrong with him committing to Manuel as the starter even if it's not what some fans want. They could still take one later in the draft.
  5. Greg Schiano gone.
  6. No coach has won a Super Bowl and then won it again with a different team.
  7. +1 I agree. Can't create holes with nothing to fill and hope to draft players. Draft or pick up players A's replacement first, make sure he sticks and then possibly get rid of player A. It's how you end up with the OG problem. I have no problem not paying him that much money but jesus have someone to fill his spot first.
  8. While I think the defense has improved if all you can do is point to the Miami 19-0 game, you don't have much of an argument. There were plenty of games where the defense let the Bills down as well. How about going up 14-0 to Atlanta and the defense couldn't hold that lead. Or the TB game or the 2 Pats* games. I know the argument will be the offense didn't do there part sometimes but having a rookie QB the team needed to lean on the defense. That can only help a rookie QB. Wilson in Seattle leans on his quite a bit, so does Kaepernick in SF. Sure, Manning, Brady and Bree's don't to an extent need to lean on theirs, but those are seasoned and established QBs. Point is, the defense still has a lot of room to improve.
  9. Normally, I would agree that players should be held accountable as well. But this isn't the offense/defense where you see continuity in player positions. For the most part, ST's players change every year. They may or may not even be in the NFL the following season. So how can you possiblely make them accountable? By cutting them? Ok well I don't think cutting or benching a player that may be out of the league will send a very big message. It falls on the coach to get the best out these temporary players.
  10. Oddly, RedZone has been staying away from the game. Gee, I can't imagine why.
  11. That run by DeAngelo Williams.... only to fumble it. Then, Matt Ryan throws a pick-6. Crazy.
  12. Hmm, now that's an interesting statement. Mike Shannahan thought the same thing about RG3 after 3 weeks(EJ has had 2 weeks) of rest off the exact same injury(LCL sprain) last December. We all know how that turned out. There's obviously no way they are being cautious with EJ after that incident.
  13. I agree. I don't think they intended to start Manuel this year. At the very least it was suppose to be a competition with Kolb/Manuel, with Kolb receiving most of the reps in the beginning of training camp. Then Kolb slips on a mat and the rest is history.
  14. So let's say they pick a QB high next year, and he doesn't show much on his rookie season (the odds aren't that high that it would happen)? Well you've already decided the first guy isn't the guy and the 2nd guy isn't it either, back to drafting in the 1st again? So you wasted a year anyways... And possibly wasted 3 years because in the 3rd year another rookie QB is starting.
  15. Except, look what happened in Washington last year. Exact same injury, RG3 had another week off than Manuel and was in the playoffs. Yea he could play and be fine, but looks what happens when you make the wrong choice. Is it worth it to ruin a players possible career?
  16. Incorrect, it is exactly an apples to apples comparison. RG3 sparined his LCL, same as Manuel, on December 10th. It was given a grad 1 sprain, so not that bad. Then he came back too early for the playoff game on Jan 3rd and tore his ACL and LCL. http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=8733526&src=desktop So he rested for about 3 weeks and it still wasn't enough.
  17. No he wasn't, he said what he thought and he still had no idea at the time if Manuel would play. Exactly what I said. But carry on with your righteous quest to gloat.
  18. Feel the need to gloat? Ok I'll remember that. It was all speculation til the last minute, so clear your throat all you want... EDIT: And where did I say anything definitive, hilarious that you call me out for a post that I made that was saying everything was a wait and see. Which is what happened. Brilliant.
  19. Hopefully he does some serious strength and conditioning. Oh well.
  20. Yes but Marrone obviously didn't say that and is dodging questions according to WGR.
  21. Like I said up thread... Marrone wants to see him practice.
  22. That's not exactly what was said. Marrone said he has to get out their and see what Manuel does tomorrow. He went on to say, A. Williams might not play or M. Goodwin. He was making a point of waiting to see what he does on the field tomorrow. As a thought, maybe Marrone doesn't want to announce the starter so the Pats* aren't sure who to prepare for.
  23. Think NFL rewind is doing a free 7 day trial?
  24. Or spray paint obscenities in his front yard at the very least. Oh wait...
  25. With regards to the post about Thad/EJ. I think I must have seen a different game because I thought Thad looked mediocre. He managed the game well and let FJ/CJ do all the work. He had some absolutely horrible throws that had me scratching my head. Sure, he connected on a nice throw to Woods and a nice throw to Smith. That was it. He left a lot of plays on the field and this isn't anything different from when he was previously playing this season. If EJ had put played the same type of game, people would be beating the drum that he sucks, etc. Not that this is any different from the Kelly/Reich era when certain fans wanted Reich out there instead of Kelly. Oh well.
