  1. It's about consistency. I have yet to see that from the Bills defense this year. They certainly had their best performance yesterday, but that doesn't absolve them from some pretty terrible performances. The pass rush and turnovers have been nice this year but the run defense still leaves a bit to be desired and there have been some terrible plays in 3rd and long situations. I'm not ready to declare them world beaters just yet but it was certainly a great defensive performance against the Dolphins
  2. I don't think you quite understand the scheme. Mack would replace Moats/Bradham in the scheme not Lawson, which is actually perfect for him. He plays sideline to sideline and is very fast. The weak-side ILB or Will LBs job in Pettiness scheme is exactly that, to be quick enough to find the ball carry, not get caught up with lineman and make lots of tackles. Which Moats/Bradham have not been very good at, hence the long runs. While the Mike, Alonso, takes on lineman and needs to be able to shed blocks, which he does just fine. Lawson plays a more traditional 4-3 "Sam" OLB in Pettiness scheme. He has the D gap to his side of the field and usually lines up over the TE and his job is containment and turning everything run wise back inside and should be able to pass cover as well. Hughes although he is listed as OLB plays DE position usually in a 4-3 look on passing downs and Mario plays the DE/OLB role or "Leo" LB as he's the best pass rusher. Because this is a hybrid scheme players are coming on and off all the time except Alonso and Mario really. The weak inside linebacker is killing this defense and needs a better player. Mack would be perfect.
  3. RGIII tears his ACL, that's fine cause it's 1 injury? Ok.
  4. So in your opinion, people should just be fine with direct force contact to their knees, otherwise they are injury prone? Makes sense. Would you call him injury prone if he just tore all his ligaments in his knee the first time, therefore ending his season?
  5. Seasons pretty much a wash for EJ. Let him heal completely in the offseason(I think his knees just need to heal completely). Not too impressed with the QB class coming out, especially since the top QB (Bridgewater) is thinking of staying in school. Not that Bills would have a shot at him. I'd take one in the 3rd/4th though. If he doesn't show any improvement next year, draft a QB in the first again.
  6. Chris Brown ‏@ChrisBrownBills 58m Brandon: Miami game to be blacked out http://wp.me/plmrg-9oL There it is, officially.
  7. Yes but what LT? It's easy to say, just push him inside and draft a LT, but how long have the Bills looked for a LT like Glenn. Why not just look for a LG? Because Mike Mayock thinks he could be a pro bowl LG? Give him til next year, he'll be a Pro Bowl/All Pro LT.
  8. I think people get confused with the weakside or Will LB in Pettine's scheme. Kiko would still be an ILB but would play more or a read and react role, sideline to sideline and wouldn't have to take on blockers like the Mike LB would. He wouldn't be kicked "outside". The Will role in Pettine's scheme is still an ILB. I personally don't think he has a problem taking on lineman, the problem is Moats is terrible at reacting and making the tackles. Kiko overpersues sometimes but he isn't at all a bad Mike LB. Personally they could draft Khalil Mack and put him at Will and that would solve a lot of the problems, IMO.
  9. I don't think anyone is disputing that fact. You are claiming, as a matter of fact, that EJ is never going to be one. That's what some people are disputing. How exactly do you know that?
  10. Teddy Bridgwater may not even be entering the draft... EDIT: so let's use Hundley and revisit this post in a years time, see how you feel about his rookie year.
  11. So you use a once in a generation QB to make your case? Andrews numbers weren't mind blowing last year. Not that numbers mean everything. He also had a bunch of 4th quarter comebacks. Do you know why he had a bunch? Inconsistent play from the QB position. He made mistakes last year and wasn't without errors. So who's the franchise QB in this next draft?
  12. I'd take away Strong Safety, because I think Aaron Williams is playing well and add OLB. Moats and Bradham are great depth but aren't starting material. They are part of the run game problem.
  13. His performance has put him up for Rookie of the Week, for the 5th time this season.
  14. Huh? Please do explain and site examples of where this is true.
  15. This is what I thought as well. I'm pretty sure he repeatedly stated he couldn't wait for this "once in a lifetime" opportunity to basically cash in. There is no way the Bills would have been able to lock him up early without overpaying. So the question comes back to, do you think the Bills should have overpaid AL? For me, the simple answer is no. Should the Bills have had a better back up plan? Yes.
  16. I'm sure this is the same variety as Kiko's knee injury and he was alright to play. I don't see this as a big deal but I'm sure Marrone wanted to get it out early.
  17. IDK, I'm of the opinion this next draft will be just as weak at QB, when it all plays out. It may be deep, but there isn't star talent at the top, much like this past year. There has already been a couple draft guys come out and say Bridgewater (who is the "top" QB) doesn't look like franchise material. I think as more experts pick apart their games, they'll find flaws and holes that'll knock them down a bit. If you think about it, Boyd, had he come out last year, would have been the top QB pick. Now he might be lucky to get picked in the 1st.
  18. And you know that how? Do you know the up coming lotto numbers as well?
  19. With my company we get $50 dinner and drinks. Also, we get off Dec 25th-Jan 2nd that doesn't count against our vacation time. It's an extra week of vacation, which is nice.
  20. Yea winning their last 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5, Jax is simply terrible. Including 3 road wins. Anything to discredit a good performance. Let's start blaming the team he was playing. You play the team lined up across from you. Yea, he looked like crap on 2 drives in the first qtr but then went 17-20 for 193 yards for 2 TDs and ran for another. Shame on him.
  21. Knew that was coming. Like clockwork.
  22. I'll just get this one out there cause I know it's coming... "Yeah, but it was Jacksonville" Damned if you do, damned if you don't. For the record, I thought he recovered nicely to score 3 TDs and get the win. Made a lot of nice throws as well.
  23. Came out and played, showed commitment to his team. She was really young, RIP.
  24. Yea, rebounding after going 0/4 with an INT in the 1st QTR to throw for 2 TDs and rush for another doesn't answer anything. Well said...
  25. Nice play Gilmore, gets both feet in.
