My question to that is, you say either Stevie or Mike Williams won't be on the roster, why do you automatically think it's Stevie they need to deal? Couldn't it be Williams? Or do you feel Williams has more potential? Mike Williams cap hit is very high next year as well. EDIT: and just thinking out loud, isn't it entirely possible that the Bills acquired Mike Williams as an insurance policy, a cheap one for this year, if they weren't able to grab Watkins or one of the high rated WR? It's about getting EJ weapons, I'm sure the Bills in March had no idea whether they would actually be able to get Watkins, even though they've liked him for quite a while. A 6th and his salary this year, seem like a one year deal.

I think Steve Johnson will be on the Bills in 2014, beyond that who knows, but here's why: 1. Injuries. And I'm not talking about SJ himself who until last year was the most reliable of the receiving core to start games. Marquise Goodwin missed 4 complete games last year when he broke his hand in the season opener and had to leave the New Orleans, KC and Miami games early. While he is a dynamic threat, his injuries seem to come often a la Roscoe Parish. Mike Williams is coming off a 6 game year with TB because of a torn hamstring. Even Robert Woods wasn't able to escape the injury bug and missed 2 games. 2. Mike Williams. The guy is a complete unknown. He could turn out to be great pickup, although he hasn't been nearly as consistent in TB as SJ has here, so there are doubts. Then there's his off the field problems. The guy racked up $200,000 in team fines by missing meetings in TB. He's also do a big pay rise next year, the Bills are getting him super cheap this year. Let's say they cut SJ and Mike Williams has an off year or something happens off the field. Now that great depth the Bills have currently is gone as the Bills would be stupid to keep MW and pay that huge salary. If anything this is a tryout year for Williams and if he proves himself he could be great trade bait for the Bills. 3. Inexperience. As much as fans want to say they know for a fact that Robert Woods or any of the younger receivers are better than SJ now, the fact is there is absolutely no proof of that. Could they be? Sure. But at this very moment there isn't anyway to know. With SJ you at least have consistency when he's healthy. You know what he brings and there is no harm in keeping him for 2014 to make sure these younger receivers are really going to develop. And SJ brings 7 years experience to a WR core that if they got rid of him would have Mike Williams be the vet. I also think his trade value, with an off year and injury, is really low. If you keep him this year and he has a better year his trade value goes up much like Mike Williams does. Just some thoughts.

So the current Bills FO should fear a new owner, who hasn't even been determined yet, and therefore draft for this unknown owner? I'm sorry, but that makes little sense. The Bills FO has been working on this draft since before Ralph Wilson passed away and they will draft according to what they believe the current team needs to build a winner.

The problem with some of these mock drafts is that the experts don't account for trades. So they are forced to decide on who a team would take if every single team stayed at their respective draft spot. Unfortunately, that rarely happens with the draft now. I'm not saying Mayock is wrong because he's just deciding on who the Bills would pick, if the first 8 draft picks went the way they did. But if a team trades up for a QB or trades back, that completely changes things.

I doubt they would get that considering there isn't a QB at pick 1 or 2 that is rated anywhere near where RGIII or Andrew Luck when they came out. Trade value is tough to determine, but the position that is going to be picked determines the value. If it's a QB, the price will go up. It's not this year. I think the price this year would be a lot lower and as the draft gets closer by the hour if Houston really wants to trade out, they will take less.

You pointed to a specific drive and complained it as "dump offs" and said it wasn't special, I simply pointed out another QB who is considered special when he does it. We aren't talking about the rest of these QB's games. I know you are trying real hard to hate on EJ but even you must understand that leading game wining drives, by any QB, is not an easy feat, and is in fact special.

Honestly, where to start, you're all over the place. First are you suggesting that Carroll because he was a DB drafted DB's? It couldn't possibly be because he realizes the NFL is a passing league and teams need more DB's? Or are you suggesting that coaches should only draft what positions they previously played, completely ignoring the needs of a modern NFL team? And just because their starting defense isn't laden with 1st and 2nd round draft picks doesn't mean it isn't for a lack of trying. The majority of players drafted by Carroll has been on the defense, including picking a situational pash rusher in the 1st. Oh and their first pick in the 2013 draft, albeit a 2nd rd pick, was a RB. And yet they (Seattle) traded away a 1st and 7th in 2013 and a 3rd in 2014. Second, you then take all of what you say about Carroll and spin it to say the Bills have sucked because of their OL, completely ignoring the the fact that the Bills OL was in fact rated better than the Super Bowl Champs. So, whats your point with that?

If it's his first offense, he enters stage 1, which is no suspension. First strike the player always gets entered into stage 1 of the drug program. If they get it again, then it's a 4 game suspension.

I would suggest to people, who have the ability, to go back and actually watch the games, instead of just recalling from memory how you think EJ played. Not to mention your emotions during the game cloud your judgement. It's exactly what I have started to do. So you pick 3 drives out of 12 drives the Bills had that day and say EJ was trying to "lose the game"? Brillant. I mean why wasn't it Dan Carpenters fault for missing that opening FG, which EJ drove the team down the field by finding a wide open Frank Summers for 34 yards? Lets not also forget the first TD drive was ALL Manuel, he took the offense 80 yards going 3/3 for 62 yards and ran for 8 more to get the ball to the 2 yard line. Let's also not forget he connected with Woods for the 2 point conversion. But yea sure, minimize his performance in that game.

Not to pick on you specifically but the bold is such an overblown statement that a lot of posters like to use. The Seattle OL was one of the worst in the league last year. And surprise, surprise the weakest point in that line was the LG position, Paul McQuistan, who was a 3rd round pick by the Raiders and has been a journeyman the majority of his career. The whole right side of the the line, for last years team, were low round picks. J.R. Sweezy was a 7th round pick by Seattle and Breno Giacomini was drafted by the Packers in the 5th. Giacomini was playing for Carpenter who was suppose to Seattle's bookend right tackle, drafted in the 1st, but can't stay on the field due to injury and has since been moved to left guard, where he still can't seem to stay healthy and has been average at best. Okung and Unger are both excellent at their positions and were both high draft picks. The majority of the problems for the Seattle's line came from LG, RG, RT giving up a combined 17 sacks, 15 hits and 69 hurries. With Okung and Unger combing for 5 sacks, 3 hits and 15 hurries. Seattle was good and won the Super Bowl last year because of their Defense. Interestingly Seattle invested heavily in a WR much like Watkins, in Percy Harvin. And while he was injured a majority of the season, he made his presence felt in the Super Bowl. He had a kickoff return for a TD and had a 30 yard run which resulted in a FG. He also had another nice 15 yard run. EDIT: To add to this a bit, since Pete Carroll has arrived they've drafted a total of 4 OL. Two of them are first round picks Okung and Carpenter. Okung seems to have found his stride but Carpenter with all his injuries and poor play has been a wasted pick. The other 2 OL were Moffitt, a 2nd rd pick, who is now with Denver and Bowie, who was a 7th rd pick. If anything, Pete Carroll invested heavily in the defense. More specifically the DL (11 picks, 4 DT and 7 DE) and Secondary (8 picks).
