  1. Also according to that: Elvis Dummervill > Mario Williams
  2. If you look at some of the responses I'd say it's certainly true. It's not like EJ asked for this to be reported so that he could prove to fans he's getting better. But when it is reported, some people shoot it down and say you can't fix mechanics, so whats the point? Or start comparing him to other QB's who ended up sucking, that did work with QB coaches. In some people's mind's, it doesn't matter what EJ does. He's damned if he does or doesn't.
  3. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, if you ask me. If he hadn't been working with a QB coach fans would have thought he wasn't committed to getting better. And since he is working with one, mechanics can't be fixed, so whats the point.
  4. My question then becomes who are you going to trade with? Oakland wanted Mack and Atlanta wanted Matthews. I'm willing to bet they were both content to stay and pick at their positions. This leaves a clear path for Evans to wind up in Tampa. Without trading up to 4, for Evans, I just don't see anywhere the Bills could move to get him. And if they are going to move to 4, why would they not take the #1 WR there, not Evans?
  5. While Mike Evans may be turn out to be great, he wasn't being talked up as a once in a generation talent. And I haven't seen any reports come out that have said that teams had Evans as the top pick on their board. Yet, it's already been reported that Watkins was at the top of more than a handful of teams boards. I wouldn't exactly say Evans was right up there with him.
  6. This team has been turning over GM/Coaches just about every 3 years for the past 15 years. It's going on year 2, do we really think a new owner has any effect on the trade? If Ralph was still alive, they would still do this trade because in the end if by the end of year 3, which isn't far off, they aren't winning, they will be shown the door. Why wait tip year 3 to make their big splash (Mario Williams signing, TO signing)? Maybe that's were the other GM's got it wrong.
  7. Bubble screen to Watkins. Quick slant to Watkins. They aren't going to double him at the line of scrimmage. The kid is notorious for taking nothing, a screen for example, and turning it into 15 yards. Just get him the ball.
  8. DROY - Kahlil Mack (I really want to put Clowney here, but I'm not sure how he'll adjust to being an OLB) OROY - Sammy Watkins
  9. Not to mention the first bad throw/series/play from Hoyer and Browns fans will be screaming to put John in the game.
  10. Oh I knew this was a previously published report. But why the heck would the Patriots make that up? Answer. They wouldn't. It is exactly what we've heard for months, some people just refuse to believe it.
  11. So the Patriots dug into Manziel and just made all this stuff up because they (the Patriots) didn't like him? Sure, why not, it's Monday.
  12. Excellent post. The problem is, in your opinion (that's the key part), you think the Bills should of upgraded the backup QB position. Yes, you think it was horribly bad last year. Unfortunately for you, the Bills front office (the guys who get paid to make decisions like this) do not agree with your assessment and have been stating so for the better part of 4 months now. But yet you are still surprised when it doesn't happen?
  13. I'm not sure about "big" contract. RB's just aren't getting the big money anymore, so big will be relative I guess. I think the Bills have the ability to resign him now that they've cleared Stevie's money.
  14. I don't have a problem with the Manziel pick, they were going to pick a QB anyway. I do question the decision of Ray Farmer to completely ignore the WR position knowing they will be losing Josh Gordon for a year possibly. The WR core in Cleveland was already pretty thin opposite Gordon. Then they had an opportunity at the top of the 2nd? Questionable. Oh well, not my favorite team to worry about.

  16. Good luck Stevie, thanks for the 7 years.
  17. In my opinion this is all that matters: Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 11m A handful of teams had Bills WR Sammy Watkins as the No. 1 player on their board. If he was rated as the no. 1 player on teams boards and the Bills got him, how could that be bad. The pundits were wrong.
  18. Just gonna leave this here: Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 11m A handful of teams had Bills WR Sammy Watkins as the No. 1 player on their board.
  19. So there's this: Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 11m A handful of teams had Bills WR Sammy Watkins as the No. 1 player on their board.
  20. It's really semantics, they didn't give up the 9th pick is what I'm trying to saying. But yes Sammy's value is 2 first's and a 4th. Anyways, I agree they got the right guy.
  21. The only problem I have with trading Stevie now is his value is extremely low compared to how he preformed last year. Look what Mike Williams was had for, I think thats what the Bills would get for SJ. Would a 6th rd pick have help to dramatically improve the team? Maybe, but it's highly unlikely and the Bills would get fleeced.
  22. Except the Bills didn't give up two 1st's. They would have had to pick a player at 9, switching the 9th pick with the 4th doesn't give up a pick. They gave up one 1st and a 4th.
  23. My question to that is, you say either Stevie or Mike Williams won't be on the roster, why do you automatically think it's Stevie they need to deal? Couldn't it be Williams? Or do you feel Williams has more potential? Mike Williams cap hit is very high next year as well. EDIT: and just thinking out loud, isn't it entirely possible that the Bills acquired Mike Williams as an insurance policy, a cheap one for this year, if they weren't able to grab Watkins or one of the high rated WR? It's about getting EJ weapons, I'm sure the Bills in March had no idea whether they would actually be able to get Watkins, even though they've liked him for quite a while. A 6th and his salary this year, seem like a one year deal.
  24. I think Steve Johnson will be on the Bills in 2014, beyond that who knows, but here's why: 1. Injuries. And I'm not talking about SJ himself who until last year was the most reliable of the receiving core to start games. Marquise Goodwin missed 4 complete games last year when he broke his hand in the season opener and had to leave the New Orleans, KC and Miami games early. While he is a dynamic threat, his injuries seem to come often a la Roscoe Parish. Mike Williams is coming off a 6 game year with TB because of a torn hamstring. Even Robert Woods wasn't able to escape the injury bug and missed 2 games. 2. Mike Williams. The guy is a complete unknown. He could turn out to be great pickup, although he hasn't been nearly as consistent in TB as SJ has here, so there are doubts. Then there's his off the field problems. The guy racked up $200,000 in team fines by missing meetings in TB. He's also do a big pay rise next year, the Bills are getting him super cheap this year. Let's say they cut SJ and Mike Williams has an off year or something happens off the field. Now that great depth the Bills have currently is gone as the Bills would be stupid to keep MW and pay that huge salary. If anything this is a tryout year for Williams and if he proves himself he could be great trade bait for the Bills. 3. Inexperience. As much as fans want to say they know for a fact that Robert Woods or any of the younger receivers are better than SJ now, the fact is there is absolutely no proof of that. Could they be? Sure. But at this very moment there isn't anyway to know. With SJ you at least have consistency when he's healthy. You know what he brings and there is no harm in keeping him for 2014 to make sure these younger receivers are really going to develop. And SJ brings 7 years experience to a WR core that if they got rid of him would have Mike Williams be the vet. I also think his trade value, with an off year and injury, is really low. If you keep him this year and he has a better year his trade value goes up much like Mike Williams does. Just some thoughts.
