I'm sorry, but I think we took a big step back
Wayne Cubed replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me, PPG mean very little, there could be a multitude of reasons why they didn't run the score up. YPA, that tells me if the passing offense was successful or working. San Francisco's YPA under Roman were: 16th, 2nd, 7th, 23rd. Buffalo's the last four years: 21st, 24th, 28th, 28th I'd say San Fran was below average this year but was still better than Buffalo's. He also had some very very good years. -
Reported: Schwartz will be leaving the Bills
Wayne Cubed replied to Uffalo Ills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought Schwartz would've wanted to stay and in my mind it made sense that he would for at least another year. It would've have really helped his ability to possibly get another HC gig. Saying that, I'll say the same thing I said when Pettine left and people thought the sky was falling and were questioning Schwartz. This defense is nasty, they are absolutely loaded with talent. I think any good coach could get these guys to preform. Rex Ryan is a great defensive coach. In fact it's possible it could get better. The Jets were 6th against the run, the Bills were 11th. Think Pettine's defense but run by the guy who actually thought it up and knows how to stop the run and is brilliant in disguising coverages and pressure. The defense will be fine. The offense is the big question mark. -

Chan Gailey to Cleveland Browns?
Wayne Cubed replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not saying Marrone is better, but surely if he is an offensive genius as some have you believe, he should have been able to score at least a TD in those 5 games where he scored none. The offense still got the ball right? It was 7-0 at one point in those games, why didn't Chans amazing offense march down the field and score? How did the defense stop them from doing that? -
Chan Gailey to Cleveland Browns?
Wayne Cubed replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most games? They eclipsed 30 points 7 times in the 3 years Chan was here. They failed to score more than 10 points 11 times in the 3 years. They also didn't score an offensive touchdown in 5 games. His average PPG in the 3 years was 20.8. It's been 21.5 under Marrone. Like I said revisionist history -
SF FA guard Mike Iupati (update: going to Cardinals)
Wayne Cubed replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the past 4 years, the high ticket FA guards have amounted to very little and one of them is out of the league now. I just don't get the idea of paying stupid money for a guard when the drop off from the next level is so minimal. -
They have the same agent as well, so I'm pretty sure Schwartz knew early that Rex was getting the job.

Chan Gailey to Cleveland Browns?
Wayne Cubed replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is a bit of revisionist history. Chan's offense was just as frustrating. Remember when he would spread the ball out and throw on 3rd and 1? He was almost always throwing on short yardage. He had multiple games where the offense failed to score more than 10 pts. It also took him 2 years to figure out how to use the guy he wanted to draft. -

So what about when pick plays are called? Picks are illegal, yet someone thought up using it and make them not look like a pick. They are used quite a bit now.
-
It makes sense why Rex and the Bills would like Roman. He's an offensive genius in the running game. The passing game, not so much.
-
Who knows... he made a motion to the side judge, they don't show if the side judge says something to defense. It was smart, they'll never be able to use it again, so hopefully that was the 1 time they needed to use it.
-
I think the hurry up meant it was a bit rushed and I didn't see any signal from the ref to indicate to the defense. They showed the whole replay and the RB quickly talks to the ref to notify him and then the ball is snapped.
-
The hurry up helped with the confusion, if you watch the head Referee he is talking with Pats* RB and I don't think he notifies the defense. I don't know if they have to the only reason I say they would have to is because they notify the defense when a tackled is eligible. You can hear it over the PA. Like I said, kudos to them.
-
The only problem I have with it is did they have time to notify the defense. Usually they announce it when a tackle reports eligible, surely they should notify the defense when a receiver reports ineligible. Flaw in the system and they found it. Kudos to them.

NEW HEAD COACH: Rex Ryan! It's Official!
Wayne Cubed replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, that's still my prevailing opinion and he wasn't who I wanted the Bills to hire but I'll get behind it, eventually. He's a great DC but wasn't a great HC in NY. He was alright and still kicked the crap out of the Bills most years. Yea, yea he beat the Pats* in the playoffs. I guess what it boils down to is with Marrone, who probably isn't as good of a coach as Rex, went 9-7 with this team. Is Rex a better enough coach to get a few more wins out of the Bills? Maybe. This year's crop of HC's wasn't all that amazing, personally I would have liked Bevell but I guess I see why the Pegula's did what they did. Time will tell if it was the right choice. -
It says joining staff.... not be DC. and FYI: Vic Carucci @viccarucci · 2h2 hours ago The #Bills have "every intention" of keeping DC Jim Schwartz, just told by high-ranking team source. Vic Carucci @viccarucci 2h2 hours ago Told despite different def philosophy, Ryan would be OK w keeping Schwartz as DC bc he "wants to win." Who's running D "doesn't matter."

Question. Not that I'm doubting you but isn't Roman stil technically employed by SF? If the next coach comes in and wants to keep Roman he can't come to Buffalo. -
