If Kiko Was A Bargaining Chip Then Why....
Wayne Cubed replied to HailMary's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, yea, yea and Mario Williams is never going to want to come to Buffalo. He will change his tune as soon as they work out a restructured contract and he is guaranteed more money. -
Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy
Wayne Cubed replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So your logic is that if anyone of them got as many carries as McCoy they would have produced the same numbers? Why is it that they didn't get the same amount of carries? -

And yet the Bills have 6th round pick (Boobie Dixon), a 7th round pick (Bryce Brown) and an undrafted FA (Fred Jackson) who combined last year couldn't top McCoy's production. But yes, carry on. -

So Tom Brady has nothing to do with how that offense runs? -

Gee, that couldn't have anything to do with the fact the Tom Brady is the QB, could it?!? -

So AP ran for 2,000 yards at age 27 then ran for 1,300 at age 28, while missing 2 games. I'll take that. -

Where are you getting those numbers, Sporting Charts has Kiko getting 6 stuffs. As a comparison Spikes had 6 this past year and Bradham and Brown both had 4. -
Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy
Wayne Cubed replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I highly doubt anyone in the top ten would trade a 1st for Alonso. I don't think any team would trade a 1st for Alonso. The guy is coming off an ACL tear, has had all of 1 good season behind one of the best DL in the NFL. It could be argued he isn't even in the top 10 at his position in the NFL -
That also doesn't include cutting anyone, which will happen.

Confirmed, just can't be done until next Tuesday. -
I think the perception by fans, maybe by teams as well, is that with all the rule changes QB's should succeed faster. I'm not sure if that is true or not, without doing some research. I do believe there are more "good" QB's in the NFL now as opposed to 20-25 years ago. Look at the top 15 QBs in terms of passing from 20 years ago, 1995. 1. Brett Favre*+ GNB 2. Scott Mitchell DET 3. Warren Moon* MIN 4. Jeff George ATL 5. Jim Everett NOR 6. John Elway DEN 7. Erik Kramer CHI 8. Jeff Blake* CIN 9. Dan Marino* MIA 10. Dave Krieg ARI 11. Drew Bledsoe NWE 12. Stan Humphries SDG 13. Troy Aikman* DAL 14. Steve Young* SFO 15. Jim Kelly BUF The best from that group are obviously: Favre, Moon, Elway, Marino, Bledsoe, Aikman, Young and Kelly (even though he was on the backside of his career). I suppose you could make an argument for George. There's 4 SB winning QB's in that bunch plus Kelly and Marino both played in a SB. Now look at the top 15 from this past year: 1. Drew Brees* NOR 2. Ben Roethlisberger* PIT 3. Andrew Luck* IND 4. Peyton Manning* DEN 5. Matt Ryan* ATL 6 Eli Manning NYG 7. Aaron Rodgers*+ GNB 8. Philip Rivers SDG 9. Matthew Stafford* DET 10. Tom Brady* NWE 11. Ryan Tannehill MIA 12. Joe Flacco BAL 13. Jay Cutler CHI 14. Tony Romo* DAL 15. Russell Wilson SEA I'd say just about everyone of them are good except maybe Cutler, Tannehill and maybe Stafford. Still an argument could be made for them because for both Cutler and Stafford. There are 8 Super Bowl winning QB's in that bunch.

Kiko or Shady? Go on record
Wayne Cubed replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, if sporting news says it, it must be true. Meanwhile just about every other MAJOR media outlet says that it was a fairly even trade, some even saying the Bills won the trade. http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/17734/swap-of-kiko-alonso-lesean-mccoy-makes-sense-for-philadelphia-eagles-buffalo-bills http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000476256/article/winners-and-losers-from-lesean-mccoy-trade http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000476269/article/buffalo-bills-benefit-most-from-lesean-mccoykiko-alonso-trade http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/bills-get-their-workhorse-running-back-in-eagles-mccoy-20150304 But yes, carry on. -
Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy
Wayne Cubed replied to CNY315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My take on the trade: - The Bills will/should get at least 2 good years from McCoy, maybe 3. - Alonso was only going to be a Bill possibly for 2 more years, IMO. I like Alonso but I understand why the trade was done. The Bills defense is stacked. Without Alonso last year they were actually better. I think the Bills will end up signing Jerry Hughes and definitely look to sign Dareus and Gilmore. If all 3 are signed there is no way Alonso, if he played up to his star potential, was going to be a Bill in 2 years. There just isn't enough money to go around. It could have also gone the other way as well if the Bills decided to keep Alonso. Alonso returns and isn't what he was as a rookie, the Bills lose out on picking up a top 3 RB. For all the posters who are screaming that RB's are dime a dozen, that may be true if the Bills had a good OL. They don't. I think with good OL's, RB's can be "dime a dozen". Now look at the other side of the ball, the Bills have one of the best DL is the NFL, you could argue in that LB's are "dime a dozen" because of how good the DL is. The Bills have an abundance of LB's at the moment who look good, they don't have any the same situation at RB, it makes sense to get something for them, while you can. Add to that Alonso has a pretty significant injury history and in my mind this trade make sense. EDIT: It also looks like Whaley is fairly good at drafting LB talent (Alonso, Brown), so maybe he isn't concerned about losing Alonso. -
Bill Polian's Grades for 2015 FA's
Wayne Cubed replied to BuffaloHokie13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously? I don't think the guy has done that, fart out football knowledge, in at least 15 years. He drafted Peyton Manning in Indy and rode him to all of 1 SB title. He couldn't build a team around Peyton Manning. That's says it all IMO. -
Talk about putting your eggs into one basket if that is in fact "the plan." This could completely blow up in their face and waste a very, very good defense. I suppose when thinking about it a bit, what else can they do? If EJ doesn't work out, it would be a waste of a very good defense. If some other FA QB doesn't work out, it's a waste.

Don't expect Spikes or Searcy back
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kind of get the Searcy talk, he will certainly value himself more than the Bills think he's worth and if you look at the Secondary as a whole, they are going to give a huge chunk of change to Gilmore. The defense is going to have some very large contracts, which is fine because the Bills don't have a QB. I know 6M for Searcy might not seem like a lot, but if some of that money could be used to secure Gilmore or Dareus or Hughes it makes sense to spend it there and roll with a cheap SS, as they already have Williams and Rambo on the roster. -

Impressive if you consider the garbage heap of WR/TE's he's had to throw to. -

I think there's a better chance he gets cut, so no need to spend the draft picks to get him.
